Hallo Zusammen, ich betreibe einige Zeit schon ein Lancache-Server (im Docker (https://github.com/lancachenet/lancache-dns & https://github.com/lancachenet/monolithic). Die Workstation ist mit 2,5 Gbit und der Unraid-Server per 10 Gbit LACP an mein Mikrotik-Switch angebunden. MTU 9000 / Jumbo-Frames aktiv. Der gecachte Download-Inhalt zur Workstation wrid ca. mit 140-150 MB/s - wenn der Inhalt noch auf dem Cache Pool (BTRFS / 2x NVME im RAID1). Wenn der Download-Inhalt bereits auf den HDDs (BTRFS / WD Gold 6TB) abliegt wird der Inhalt mit ca. 70-80 MB/s übertragen. Die HDDs hängen an dem Onboard SATA-Controller mit AHCI. Mit den Übertragungsraten via SMB bin ich soweit zufrieden. Ebenfalls ist es so, dass beim Vorgang die CPU-Last unheimlich in die Höhe steigt. Den NIC-Buffer habe ich schon erhöht auf 4096 erhöht, den Offload deaktiviert, die FlowControl deaktiviert, die CPU Mitigations deaktiviert, CPU-Pinning versucht, mal ohne LACP getestet, Direct-IO getestet, CoW auf dem Share getestet, etc. Jemand eine Idee wie ich die CPU-Last senken kann und die Transferrate der HDDs steigern ? Schon mal frohes neues Jahr und einen guten Rutsch !

Ich hab mir ein Set aus zwei Luster MoCa 2.5 Adapter geholt. Haben zwei 1Gbit Anschlüsse pro Adapter und liefern eine Bandbreite von 3000Mbit. Die Latenz liegt bei ca. 5ms und und die Teile laufen wirklich stabil. Did you trying to increase the a Tunable (poll_attributes) under Disk Settings ? Default is 1800. If you want to spindown the disks after 1 hour put in 3700, 2 hours put in 7300, etc.

Hab das BIOS-Update gestern auch durch Zufall entdeckt, @Dachmeyer Ich hab gestern die F4 installiert, aber hab leider keine Hardware zum testen. Bis jetzt kann ich dir nur sagen, dass das Updaten problemlos per USB-Stick möglich war und ich keine Probleme bis jetzt feststellen konnte.

Genau, @ich777 - mit dem Befehl ließ sich dann die Original FW flashen und die PSID hat sich von "IBM1080110023" in "MT_1080120023" geändert. Die kommenden Updates sind somit auch auf dem ganz normalen Weg flashbar Dank dir - mach ich bzw. deaktivier ich

Meine Karte war / ist IBM gebrandet Die original FW von Mellanox ließ sich nicht aufspielen. Ach ok, gut zu wissen Scheinbar ist die Karte IBM gebrandet. Die PSID lautet: IBM1080110023 Ich schau mal ob ich nicht die Original Mellanox Firmware flashen kann. Hast du das zufällig schon mal gemacht ?

Das Plugin und die nötigen Kernel-Modifikationen habe ich bereits durchgeführt, aber ich hab leider keine Anleitung gefunden wie man den Flash-Vorgang explizit über Unraid durchführt Viele Grüße

Short feedback, @SimonF and @limetech I increase the poll tunable to 3700 seconds and the spindown-timer to 1 hour. Additonal i check my content, the associated disks and move some files via unBalance-App. Seems to be fine for now

Thx @mudsloth. I do not use AutoFan or Telegraf. I solved it yesterday with increasing the increasing the "Tunable (poll_attributes)" under Settings -> Disk Settings. I set the spindown to 1 hour and increase the Tunable (poll_attributes) to 3700 seconds

Yes, i think that will be the best way. For now i will set up the spindown timer to 15 minutes. I check at the moment the spinups and it seems to be ok. Thanks for your advices, @limetech & @SimonF

Thx ! Thats strange, but why is affecting the spindown ? With 6.8.3 it‘s working without any problems. I will test the function with the 15min spindown-time. I hope that the disks will be spinup and spindown so often.

Can you tell me how i can change time of poll ? I change the spindown now to 15 minutes for testing, but i think 15 minutes for spindown is a bit low, hm ?

No, i check every docker and VM. I installed a VM with Home Assistant, but the VM is on the cache-pool. I checked with Dynamix Active Stream if any connection is established via SMB, but there is no one. I activate some features with the Kernel Helper but i do not think that is the reason.

Do you have any idea regarding my situation, @limetech? I do not use telegraf and autofan.

Update to 6.9 was successful, but automatic spindown is not working anymore

No problem - you're welcome, @LintHart Maybe the problem is solved, if you plugin the cnobee on another USB-port ? Try to plugin the conbee to an USB 2.0-port. Try another "older" firmware-version and then flash the newest firmware-version.
