  1. So in a nutshell: Shutdown host. Unplug data cable & switch UPS. Plugin to UPS & attach data cable. Turn on host. Redo APCUPSD settings. That's it?
  2. I am upgrading the UPS on my Unraid server and would like to know if there are any specific steps required: ie. from an older model APC SmartUPS to a larger TrippLite model. Is there a specific order one must follow to back out the settings for the old UPS and setup the new one in Unraid's APCUPSD UPS management?
  3. Pheeew!!!. Good to hear. I couldn't help but forward the subject title to one of my friends who is a sysadmin professionally and father of three. He seemed quite impressed yours skipped the power button pressing phase entirely and went straight for drive yanking.
  4. Should a share folder on a data drive be set up for persistent storage of working documents & to drop source data for using Grist self-hosted on an Unraid server? I would pefer to not use the appdata folder on my cache drive for document storage, and maybe there should be a preset option in the setup template for this. (I haven't really played with Grist yet, but it looks like a really interesting app if you're a serious spreadsheet user.)
  5. Not sure if I have a problem or not (preliminary inquiry). I have an Unraid server (6.9.2) that is: not in DMZ not internet exposed (at least not by me - my network pings all good on GRCsheildsup tests.) runs a few locally oriented dockers: HomeAssistant (Stopped for the moment) Hass Configurator (Stopped for the moment) Emby (Stopped for the moment) Logitech Media Server (Stopped for the Moment) (Had Homebridge...since uninstalled) Heimdall (Stopped for the moment) No filefetching dockers, no torrentz (all my media hand ripped music & movie DVDs.) I have ZERO interest in any remote access and have made no attempt to do so, nor opened any ports at the router. My question would be: what is a normal level of network activity for a server doing these things at rest (no one in the household accessing any of the Docker services)? What level of TX/RX would indicate a red flag? ie. At which point should I pull the plug and begin asking the good people here on this forum what logs I need to prepare? Not sure what I'm looking at, If I have a bad Docker, or just normal network interaction between Dockers and clients on my network and I'm just mis-reading what I'm seeing... Right now I've just shut down all Apps/Dockers and just looking at the feed from system stats and network stats.
  6. This is a great idea. There is, sadly, another "use case" for this...inspired by the current pandemic: Leaving explanatory notes and important server info for the surviving spouse who was NOT the household's IT person. I will be installing this plugin ASAP.

    Emby vs PLEX

I'm using the Screenplay app on my LG. No nag screen & I find it a good simple TV app for accessing my Emby. (I have the official Emby app installed as well but rarely use it. Aside from the nag screen, I find it slow.)
