Intel 13th and 14th Gen CPU, Concerns?
domrockt replied to stepmback's topic in Motherboards and CPUs
Yes my 13700k did throw bluescreens and UE5 errors all the time. I installed the newest bios for my Board and now everything seems Fine but it is tainted. If i would be you and had to choose i would go 12th gen -
"You will see a warning about unsupported features in your existing ZFS pools. This is because the version of ZFS in 7.0 is upgraded vs. 6.12 and contains new features. This warning is harmless, meaning your pool will still function normally. In a future release we will be adding a mechanism to upgrade your pools." auf deutsch Sie werden eine Warnung über nicht unterstützte Funktionen in Ihren bestehenden ZFS-Pools sehen.

Hello there, i have an "update" message in my ZFS array it says, my question would be can i "upgrade" that safely? i COULD try it with this Pool in particular because its just games but would ask in advance "pool: cache state: ONLINE status: Some supported and requested features are not enabled on the pool. The pool can still be used, but some features are unavailable. action: Enable all features using 'zpool upgrade'. Once this is done, the pool may no longer be accessible by software that does not support the features. See zpool-features(7) for details." I gues this are the features "POOL FEATURE --------------- cache zilsaxattr head_errlog blake3 block_cloning vdev_zaps_v2" regards Dom

Könnt ihr schon was dazu sagen?? Some supported and requested features are not enabled on the pool. If you want to use the container as a Steam Remote Play (previously "In Home Streaming") host device you should set the "Network Type:" to *"Host"*. This is a requirement for controller hardware to work and to prevent traffic being routed through the internet since Steam thinks you are on a different network. das habe ich damit vor, ich spiele über die VPN. damit hast du recht.
-

Hello, what do you have in mind? almost all 19" Rackcases can house an ITX mainboard. If not extra stated in the specs the four screw holes in the IO area are the ITX standart spaces. With you CPU cooler i would recomend not smaler than 2U in high. like this one https://geizhals.eu/inter-tech-2u-20255-88887105-a1188043.html?hloc=at&hloc=de&hloc=eu&hloc=pl&hloc=uk this picture is just an ITX spacing reference

i dont have the ARC GPU anymore, it did work but maybe just "ok" with any AI use case out there, but here is my Template for docker and i used this repo i now use my RTX a4500 for that. nuullll/ipex-arc-sd:latest

epyc has no IGPU that transcodes well, epyc is an powerhog, i have an 8core Epyc and it juggs 50watt on idle, you will need an extra GPU for your Media needs, possibly two. If you dont need the pcie lanes, avoid epyc. my NAS/Backup/Plex/console Emulator Streaming Server/ Game dedicated Server is my Intel 13700k Unraid Server in my Signature. any 12/13/14th gen will do that much better
-
As today there is no Truenas VM necessary, Unraid does it all with Plugins, if you want truenas go baremetal with it. I do own an epyc System BUT would strongly advice not to use it as an „NAS or Backup or Plex“ Basis but if you insist of course i can help too. myne is an AI and NVME Storage Server i would go for an Intel 12/13/14 th gen Build that IGPU is Amazing good at Splitting Into VMs with sriov Plex and de/en/transcoding in general with some clever pcie lane Management you can go to 28gbe LAN

Kioxia 7.68TB PCI-E - too good to be true?
domrockt replied to eribob's topic in Storage Devices and Controllers
It is the wrong cable you need to Watch out for PCIe 4x specs with your cable you could use the NVME on an SAS Controller at 12gbits Speed. https://amzn.eu/d/iX79p4e This are the correct ones Sure the ones from the eBay listing are correct to. -
