  1. I changed my plex password and now the server isn't working, I get the, No soup for you message. What's the solution to this, nothing I've found online has worked. 😞
  2. How did you do these benchmarks, I need to go down this hole.
  3. I spent all day, nothing worked. I had it on my desk with a single cpu, one stick of ram and I got the same thing, blinking amber light no post. I tried every possible thing I could find online, nothing changed anything and since this is old there is no support. What's confusing is why, when I tried to start the VM after adding the networking card did it happen? My only thought is any restart and this would have happened it just happened to be the network card change that caused the restart, I cut my loses and ran out and purchased new hardware and I'm back up and running. Not ideal, $600/later and a rush job so I couldn't do research but I'm happy how unraid performed basically swapping all the major components. I'll try a couple more times with the old hardware while it's on my bench and then in the recycle it goes.
  4. So I have an intel board and the status led is just flashing amber. The manual says there are codes to read based off the 8 leds but they are all off, just the main system status led blinking and the manual says nothing about that.
  5. I thought it was the PCI card, I still think it was but when I started the VM everything froze. No monitor signal or anything so I had to force shutdown and now nothing comes up at all. Fans spin, lights on but nothing on the monitor and doesn't connect to the network. Thoughts?
  6. Does anyone else have the issue with deluge just stop responding? I can't track down any reason and the logs are not helpful. Usually a restart fixes it but sometimes I will be days before I notice it.
  7. That's over $600 just in drives not counting server hardware. To do it well that server should also be located somewhere else too. 😞
  8. I've been thinking a lot about this as my array grows. Most stuff I care about (photos, documents, wiki, etc) are backed up to the cloud but for the most part they're small, < 1TB total. The rest of my array (movies, music, etc) is not backed up, I always told myself that it was okay to lose it but the more I collect the more I'm starting to not think that way. A simple flooding from a broken pipe could wipe my entire 10+ year collection. Since uploading 40+TB of data is no small task I'm looking at alternative solutions that will scale and give me the best chance to recover, I'm not sure a backup service (backblaze) or cloud provider gives me that. So, I've actually started looking at using usenet as a possible offsite backup provider. Basically, each piece of media could be it's own post, encrypted and uploaded. Most modern providers keep binaries for over a year so if I set a rotation of uploading everything yearly I should be able to recover anything I need and I could do it on a per file basis if need be. My simple math says I would need to upload ~100GB/day to upload my entire array in a year which seams very obtainable assuming my isp doesn't care about me upload ~3.5TB a month. Thoughts?
  9. So...stupid, openvpn was working but I couldn't access other dockers via the vpn (port forwarding?) so I started playing around and I locked myself out when I switch it to bridge instead of host. Can I edit the network or config file via command line to get back on the network?
  10. I need to upgrade but last time I did I had kernel panics and it took me a day to revert my machine back so it was usable and now I'm scared to do it again. The previous issue was here: Naldinho said in that thread that 6.4 worked but that was beta and now we're on 6.6. I remember I used to be able to copy a few files to the flash to test but I don't see that option and it looks like I can only use the interface to upgrade which scares me if something goes wrong. To boot, it doesn't even give me the option to upgrade so I'll have to force it but I still feel nervous about reverting. What are some steps I can take to try out the upgrade?
  11. Why can't I see 6.4? I'm on 6.2.4 and it only shows I can upgrade to 6.3.2 which I can't because it kernel panics. I've tried refresh the plugins multiple times on different days, same result.
  12. The system basically becomes unresponsive. Apps don't work, can't load the web ui and sometimes htop won't even load. What can I do to track down what's doing this when it happens? I think it's an IO issues just not sure what is causing it and how, seems pretty random.
  13. Awesome news, thanks for doing this. 6.4 is still not official though right? I guess I'll give it a go this weekend so even if it's beta. How did you do the upgrade, from the UI or just copying files?
  14. Does limetech collect stats on usage? I wonder how many people are just happy on older versions and don't upgrade? If it wasn't for one feature I'd probably stay with what I have.
  15. Nope, I think it's a kernel issue and not unraid as i've seen other distros having the same issue. I have not tried a prereleased because so many things rely on my server being up but this should do it:
  16. I pre-cleared and added it but it came up as "Unmountable". I then stopped the array to remove it but now the array thinks it's part of the array so it's complaining I'm missing a disk (Not installed). How can I resolve this?
  17. Every time I post an issue I get the same comment about changing USB sticks. I want to remove that variable one and for all. What USB should I get that I can guarantee will not cause issues?
  18. What key do you have that works. I've tried three now, same panic. I loved this board until it stopped allowing me to upgrade. Also, what version of the BIOS do you have?
  19. If you're testing, could you test the latest rc 6.4 build too? :-) If it's a kernel issue there is hope that a newer kernel fixed the issue too.
  20. Yeah, they both had the same ip. pfsense had a static mapping for that mac address so that explains why I was having issues accessing it. I changed the mapping to another ip and what do you know, it appears to be working as expected! The VM got the new VLAN 50 ip and I can connect to it as expected (only from vlan 50). Wow, that has caused me hours of headaches thinking it's everything form pfsense to the vlan switch. classic PEBKAC error. :-/ Have a bitcoin wallet? I'll send you some coffee money? :-) Thanks.
  21. Since I need this working I put in another NIC and just passed it through to the VM. Now that port is on the right VLAN and I don't have to worry about unraid. I would like to solve this though so I don't have to keep putting more NICs in. :-)
  22. Here is what I have, I'm still having issues. I have one interface but have the second vlan. I have the vlan connected to the vlan and it gets a correct ip (128.168.50.x) BUT when I'm connected to that same vlan I can get to unraid via that ip and it causes when I try to access the VM. If I'm on a different vlan (20) I can access the vm just fine. Not sure if it's an unraid issue or vlan issue, or both.
  23. Is this the same for vlans on one interface too? I thought I'd try that but it seems I get the same thing.
