  1. I'm curious where you'll draw the line for docker compose management : I used portainer, komodo and now dockhand to manage my stacks on my unraid server, the compose files are hosted on private github repos. It is so easy to update my stacks on github (versioning, branching, ...) that I would never go back for less feature-wise.
  6. I know that it is also determined by the hardware but I think there may some options to have unraid be more power efficient out of the box : Powertop (already available thanks to a package from mgutt) TLP (https://github.com/linrunner/TLP) cpu-autofreq (https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/auto-cpufreq) If one want to make its unraid server more power efficient it is a real challenge with limited options. I think helping people achieving this would be a great feature as depending of where you live energy efficiency is something important.
  7. Hi, Be sure that your docker.img file is on your cache disk and not on your array.
  10. Interesting project, I also do not like this delay. How much space does it use on the SSD, any simple formula to have an idea ? I'd like to try but I fail to foresee if it will fit to my cache drive.
  11. Same issue with 7.1.4, on multiple hosts running w11. I'm not doing lots of SMB browsing so I do not really mind, in the meantime I pinned the unraid host in the windows explorer.
  12. I feel your pain as I have an ASRock Z690 RS Pro and a 13100, currently I'm at 46W idle though. Powertop Idle stats are similar to yours with pck c-state not going over c2. Booting Windows is a PITA so I'm studying this method : https://github.com/datasone/setup_var.efi I already found the arguments I need for my BIOS just need the courage to do it ! Next time I upgrade my server hardware I will carefully check for ASPM support.
  15. I've been running Authentik for nearly a year now ... and I just put it down yesterday. It is a great product but way overkill for my usage. I'm trying to limit the number of containers running on my server and it was just too much compared to what can be achieve by competitors. To be honest it was aso a bit of a hassle to configure. After considering going back to Authelia I'm now using Tinyauth, designed for homelabs, simple to configure and use minimal resources to run. As I have also changed NPM by traefik it is very easy to secure my homelab.
  16. While browsing I found this link about ASPM troubleshooting : https://z8.re/blog/aspm.html Very interesting to read for multiple reasons : The author has similar hardware that we use, he's an ex-user of unRAID going to TrueNAS. He shows the logical steps for troubleshooting Lots of details for each steps
  17. Hi, I had the same issue and I think it was also the same model of USB key (exact model name is "Samsung Memory MUF-32BE3EU USB Key SAMSUNG 32G USB 3.1 BAR Plus" according to amazon). It's a sturdy key but I think the metal part makes it overheat. Sometimes it disappeared from the BIOS, sometimes it was detected but failed during unraid boot. Each time I had to reboot, I had to change of USB port for the key to be accepted, it went for a couple of months. I initially thought of an issue with my motherboard. Obviously after a while it just died when I was writing on it (during some changes of shares configuration) and crashed my server. I replaced it with a SanDisk Cruzer Blade and now everything is ok. I had also the same issue, what I did is made a zip backup of my old USB key and restored it on the new USB key with the unraid usb tool creator.
  18. I don't want to necro this thread but both subjects (login & boot) have been adressed in the video Behind the Code: The 20-Year Journey of Unraid : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OwCu3T92z4&t=4560s Great video btw.
  20. I just seen that my guacamole installation (with docker-compose) has been upgraded to the recently released 1.6 version, did not see any difference to be honest.
  21. Would be nice to support github as a repo for docker compose files. it would make me switch back from portainer 🤩.
  23. There are multiple tutorials available, maybe you can start with a simple one like this one https://theko2fi.medium.com/apache-guacamole-manual-installation-with-docker-compose-222cef1894e3 And then fit it to your needs.
  24. I moved to a docker compose stack, hosted on github and deployed with portainer. It uses the official docker containers, is always up to date thanks to portainer and if I want to modify the stack I just have to push an update to github. And to be honest I wanted to learn docker compose.
