  1. the drive assignments for the array is stored on the flash drive, updating your bios should not interfere with your drives. as long as the same drives are used with your unraid config you can change almost anything with your other hardware. But it is still recommended to have some form of data backup in the event of a catastrophic failure. as for the unraid version, i assumed you were already on version 7, in which case your kernel error problem is different than mine so i cant help you there.
  2. This looks like the same problem I have been having with my recently purchased dell r930 server. I reverted back to unraid 6.12.15 and that solved my problem. check https://forums.unraid.net/topic/192180-unraid-server-crashing/ maybe it can help you too.
  3. Ok, Thank you very much for your help and advice.
  4. I already used a fresh config for every test. 5 tries with version 7 and 5 tries with version 6, only version 6 worked. I am using the latest firmware and bios for my server, As for trying a future release with a newer kernel, I don't know how to do that as I am not that knowledgeable with Linux (I'm mainly a windows user).
  5. Can anything be done to fix this? I can run v6 for now but eventually I will need to update to v7.
  6. it would seem that the crashes only happen on version 7+ of unraid. could it be the newer kernel or drivers causing this problem?
  7. I loaded unraid 7.1.4 and the system froze within 5 min of starting the containers.
  8. i have been running the same containers and plugins on unraid 6.12.15 and has been running normally for the past 20 hours. Maybe the problem is with version 7.
  9. i have already left it overnight with no containers running and it still freezes but i have not tried in safe mode.
  10. memory test completed without errors
  11. not yet, i will do it now
  12. unraid (latest stable) will consistanly crash and freeze my server (dell r930, 4x e7-8880 v4, 128gb ecc ddr4, 4x 1tb nvme) I can force a crash to happen soon after i start my game server containers but sometimes it happens when no containers are loaded. Im a little new to linux so i dont exactly know what im looking for to find a solution. I have attached syslogs from 2 concurrent crashes. I can try to provide more info if needed syslog (crash 1).csv syslog (crash 2).csv
