  1. How it looks with downstream: I binded just the IOMMU 42 for GPU passthrough. The VM still has the IOMMU 39 42:00.0 bind shown and ticked, though I will deselect it from other devices, update. It has now disappeared from Other Devices. I run the VM and get: So that's downstream, multi-mode and both. I think I will just unbind 42, deselect IOMMU in VM settings and give up passing through the USB controllers (ports) on the back of the egpu. I would be more than happy to pay someone to get this working if there are any takers?
  2. this is unbinded in multi-function: I will try 31 and 33. The end goal is to pass through the usb ports.. sure enough: I will unbind, and see what I get with downstream on. (earlier I did something where I could see the 2x individual usb 3.1 ports on the egpu)

  4. Interestingly the second time I go to run the VM (after unticking all) NVIDIA TU116 USB 3.1 Host Controller (11:00.2) NVIDIA TU116 USB Type-C UCSI Serial bus controller (11:00.3) have actually disappeared, and I am left with: Intel JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 USB Controller [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] | USB controller (42:00.0) - unticked
  5. Hi I am hoping for some support with the: "Execution error internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor" So first of all to fix it - all I need to do is unbind everything and just bind IOMMU group 31. It works but it doesn't give me the outcome I want. On my Lenova Legion BoostStation - there are some ports. There is: USB-C thunderbolt to PC port. 2x USB 3.1 1x USB 2.0 1x RJ45 At the moment I have IOMMU 31 and 33 binded to VFIO at boot in multi-dunction ACS override. 6. @Squid thank you, I'm sure you'll know more. Ok so I removed the 3060 and the Razor CoreX. I took the 1660 from the PC and into the Legion Lenova BoostStation using the 2m Thunderbolt lead (original setup). Powered up, sure enough it did not show. Issued the rescan command - yes it all showed! Binded the gpu and sound and usb. Rebooted UNRAID, it booted up and it did not show even after rescan (but I rebooted - the legion is unlike the Razor CoreX which only has a main psu on/off button, the legion has a little push power button at the front. So it didn't switch off an issue. Anyway i shutdown UNRAID this time - not rebooted UNRAID. Turned off the Legion and then back on. Next Booted UNRAID. I think the razor possibly power cycles itself unlike the legion) This time the GPU didn't show, I rescanned and it - and it showed as expected. I took the diagnostics before and after. All this time it seems it has been working - but in 30ish reboots I've had mixed results - the only one which seemed not to be as bad as the 1660 & 3060 was the GT430 which doesn't need a PCI rescan. I'm not sure exactly whats happening but I am positive with my rescan approach. 7. So I swapped the 3060 and 1660. The 1660 worked fine in my PC. The 3060 showed once randomly then would not show again. ************************* Now I've found a way to make the 3060 show up - I've no idea what I'm doing but I type: # echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/rescan In 3 times where the gefore gtx 3060 did not show up, the above command made it show. Then when I started the array, I could select them (as i binded them). I have not loaded ubuntu yet, as plan to turn off. Swap the 3060 for the 1660, encounter the same issue - i will do the above command. I don't want to do this each time, part of me is thinking this must be a bug in UNRAID...? This is the IOMMU after the rescan command in terminal. (I've decided to only rescan when the array is stopped as I don't want to bugger up the 3x SAS pci controllers and I've no clue what I am doing really! I found the command on something called archlinux) IOMMU group 24:[8086:15ea] 0c:00.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 25:[8086:15ea] 0d:00.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 26:[8086:15ea] 0d:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 27:[8086:15ea] 0d:02.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 28:[8086:15ea] 0d:04.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 29:[8086:15eb] 0e:00.0 System peripheral: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 NHI [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) IOMMU group 30:[8086:15ec] 42:00.0 USB controller: Intel Corporation JHL7540 Thunderbolt 3 USB Controller [Titan Ridge 4C 2018] (rev 06) Bus 005 Device 001 Port 5-0 ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub Bus 006 Device 001 Port 6-0 ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub IOMMU group 31:[8086:15da] 43:00.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL6340 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge (C step) [Alpine Ridge 2C 2016] (rev 02) IOMMU group 32:[8086:15da] 44:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation JHL6340 Thunderbolt 3 Bridge (C step) [Alpine Ridge 2C 2016] (rev 02) [10de:2489] 45:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA104 [GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Lite Hash Rate] (rev a1) [10de:228b] 45:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation GA104 High Definition Audio Controller (rev a1) Next step Remove Razor X Put in 1660 in the Legion Lenova. 8. I am at a complete loss. I couldn't replicate the 1660 showing.. These are the steps I took: 1660 is in and doesn't show up using 2nd eGPU enclosure - Razor CoreX and 0.5m thunderbolt cable instead of 2m BIOS security is set to No Security in thunderbolt bios setting IOMMU is both in unraid with lots of testing done before now, initial conditions above Power down UNRAID, switch off, replace with GT430, boot unraid - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, power up - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, power up - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, replace with 1660 GTX, boot unraid - 1660 shows Power down UNRAID, power up - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, change BIOS setting from No Security to User Authorisation - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, replace with GT430, boot unraid - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, change BIOS setting from User Authorisation to No Security - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, power up - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, power up - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, power up - GT430 shows Power down UNRAID, replace with 1660 GTX, boot unraid - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, power up - nothing shows Power down UNRAID, power up - nothing shows Disabled thunderbolt support in BIOS and IOMMUs still show (see below). 9. Round 2 I have bought a Razor Core X enclosure and it has a stock cable. When I put the GTX 1660S it still does not work. This is making me think the GPU could be defective or it is incompatible with UNRAID. That said in 1 of the 15 boots - it did show up (again whatever I did - I did the same and could not repeat). This makes me think UNRAID is the issue (it makes me think it is compatible but only when there is a hardware change or I have done something significant in the bios). I have effectively eliminated the cable, and egpu enclosure. Currently the razor core is working with a: IOMMU group 39:[10de:0de1] 45:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GF108 [GeForce GT 430] (rev a1) On every reboot - the GeForce GT 430 shows up. 10. Hello I have a Lenova Legion BoostStation, a thunderbolt 3 100W 2m Belkin USB-C cable, a AsRock W480 Creator - latest BIOS (tried with thunderbolt security access to none OR user authorised) a Nvidia 1660GTX I tried on Unraid 6.9, and now again on 6.10.rc2 I have tried Downstream, Multi-function and Both I turn on the BoostStation, the Booststation fan spins up (the GPU is attached to a monitor in standby by HMDI) I turn on the power to the server and boot unraid. 11. Hi @winglam did you ever get this working, my IOMMU is the same with 4C but it does not see the GPU
  12. @limetech Hi will this have thunderbolt3 plug and play for better eGPU support and iommu detection for VMs passthrough? Would love to see my lenova legion enclosure be less temperamental at boot with unraid. Keep up the good work, can’t wait to install the stable build candidate.
  13. thank you. I still had issues that way but on the barebone machine you mentioned; I tried GPartion app which worked a treat.
  14. Hi all I have Plex and Kodi running on a vdisk1.img inside /mnt/system_cache/domains/kodi plex/vdisk1.img It has 78G allotted and a capacity of 200G Inside Ubuntu - in the Disks app - I cannot unmount because the drive is busy. I cannot resize the drive. I can't seem to make it boot to the buntu setup iso - i have the ubuntu mounted as SATA, but no matter what I do or press (F12, F2, DEL) it boots to Ubuntu where it mounts the drive and becomes busy. Please help me expand the volume, as now PLEX has become unusable.
  15. @DtrainDid you ever get this working? I also have a Legion and the dock shows but not the gpu?
  16. Hi I have bought a Lenova Legion Booststation thunderbolt 3 to UNRAID. The thing is it sometimes shows, and sometimes does not - and I am at a complete loss as to why. So I've attached two images. Physically I do not move the thing. I shutdown UNRAID, swith off egpu. I turn on egpu, wait 3,5,10,20 seconds and switch on SERVER. Sometimes it shows the GPU, sometimes it does not. I am at a complete loss. Can anyone help?
  17. Unfortunately I don't know any one to test the theory so I am going to go with it at chance, and keep this post open until it arrives and I will update the post for anyone else searching in the future (fingers crossed with good news!) 😀
  18. Thank you - I see what I've done! Yes instead of VNC, I need to select Intel UHD Graphics 630. However I cant do that as UNRAID uses it at the moment. So I have to accept no hw transcoding. Seems like I need to get that egpu thunderbolt enclosure pretty swift for my GTX1660S Thank you for your help ghost82
  19. Sorry you've confused me a little... gpu/igpu - I am using a 10900K which has igpu (UHD 630)?
  20. Sorry guys; believe me - I did look and I'm clearly missing something. CPU is i9 10900K This is a VM setup and I want it to really stay a VM setup as when I buy a eGPU enclosure - I'm going across to a GTC1660S however for now - I'd like to work out whats going on. So Docker is not a solution for me. Any help as always is very appreciated. Ok here's the problem: Should say Transcode (hw) Intel GPU Top shows: The Plex and Kodi combination in UNRAID VM is: Plex settings:
  21. Ok so its the powerline adaptors slowing the network from 1gb to 100mb I have restarted everything - no joy. Is it possible to use the WD creator https://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/W480 Creator/index.asp onboard wifi?? It doesn't show in UNRAID? Thanks Chris
  22. I have restarted; and am still gettinf the same 11MB/s I have been reading - that I should be expecting to see 80MB/s Please can you suggest what is going wrong? haccnas-diagnostics-20210626-2113.zip
  23. Hello I am writing from an array HDD to an external HDD on a device via a PC. (UNRAID > Win10 > NAS) The UNRAID has a 10gbs port and the switch is 1gbs. Between the UNRAID and the switch downstairs (which NAS and PC) - I use (as a temporary measure in rented accommodation) a TP-link (fairly new) powerline adapter. Normally I have wrote to the UNRAID device to a SSD cache and speeds are fast. For the first time I am now using my UNRAID to copy data via windows (large files 20GB+) and it seems painfully slow. The question I have is - reading data 10MBs straight from an array HDD - is this roughly a normal speed to be expected?
  24. Hi I have a download_cache SSD. I have a share named Movies with cache pool enabled (see image) Now I have my folders structured like so - /mnt/disk1/Movies/480p Childrens /mnt/disk1/Movies/720p Childrens /mnt/disk1/Movies/1080p Childrens /mnt/disk2/Movies/480p /mnt/disk2/Movies/720p /mnt/disk2/Movies/1080p /mnt/disk5/Movies/1080p 3D /mnt/disk5/Movies/2160p /mnt/disk8/Movies/480p Comedy /mnt/disk8/Movies/720p Comedy /mnt/disk8/Movies/1080p Comedy /mnt/disk8/Movies/480p Standup /mnt/disk8/Movies/720p Standup /mnt/disk8/Movies/1080p Standup Ok I use SAMBA through windows and send files across where it goes to my download_cache, very fast. At 2am it should move across. If I have manual split on - it doesn't transfer at all, MOVER ends with data still on the drive. The screenshot above works but it doesn't maintain my folder structure instead it fills on any drive (I need to use unbalance - which sort of defeats the object of what I am trying to do). The option is to disable the download_cache but then I loose my cache transfer speeds (which I really like). Any ideas how I can get the download_cache to transfer into the correct folder within the correct HDD. I'm really surprised I cant work this out. I like having this optimised folder structure, it keeps everything clean and as I use Kodi or Plex only the relevant hard drive spins up. Thanks in advance for any advice, Chris
  25. No worries, used proftpd plugin which overwrites unraid ftp (dissapears) and all is working, thanks
