  1. Just wanted to share what helped me - running a 12th gen intel cpu so it might be slightly different:

    • In bios I had to switch to uefi, disable resizeable bar, 4g decoding, SR-IOV support: Yes and for my cpu features I set this:
      image.thumb.png.999ccf5048a217722eded5a989352056.png
    • in vm manager, i had to
      • VFIO allow unsafe interrupts: Yes
      • PCIe ACS override: Disabled
    • The VM looks like this for me:
      image.thumb.png.7e52eac348bfe00de634def947660e7c.png
    • PCI Devices and IOMMU Groups - vfio log
      image.thumb.png.812d93ddd37112f283ec5fc9a9755d81.png
    • image.thumb.png.d093d4bdf4514f5cbddf4cc0284a0b76.png
    • Boot Config
      image.thumb.png.96feb8d89d7604571390b69a00759e3a.png
But I'm not sure what was needed or not to get the graphics card runnig, in the boot config, just added it in case there is something interesting in it. Added some options to safe some power.

I think this is the clue that you need.  Now read this paragraph from this original post:

Your Fritz router/modem(?) probably is one of those "high-end router" that require an exception to allow DNS rebinding for the myunraid, net domain.  Try googling    fritzbox dns rebinding    and look for a solution.

EDIT:  When you find the solution, post it up here as Wikipedia indicates that this 'Fritzbox' is a widely used device throughout Europe..

    Thank you it worked.

    Just googled it and found

    https://en.avm.de/service/knowledge-base/dok/FRITZ-Box-7590-AX/3565_FRITZ-Box-reports-Your-FRITZ-Box-s-DNS-rebind-protection-rejected-your-query-for-reasons-of-security/

Didn't remember that I had to do it before but my router had the old unraid url already entered :) And I just updated it because of the notice in unraid and didn't read the forum post beforehand.

Btw. I could workaround my way to the web interface with a vpn client - just for information if someone has the same issue.

  3. Hi I've got the same DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error.

When i do the DNS probe for

    nslookup 192-168-178-85.***.myunraid.net
    Server:  fritz.box
    Address:  fd0***2e

*** No internal type for both IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses (A+AAAA)-Entrys for 192-168-178-85.d4***.myunraid.net available.

so the ipv4 entry seems to be missing how can I fix this? having no access to the web interface is pretty annoying

Allerdings ist mein bester C-State fürs Paket (Pkg(HW) in powertop) C3image.png.7715fed946be47b89e432368b48d27bd.png

  6. I've got an issue since yesterday using intel 12600k and had a nvidia quadro p600. Transcoding with the intel igpu finally worked, with the newest plexpass version - have seen it transcoding in intel_gpu_top and the p600 was in P8 while transcoding so it was clearly the card0 visible intel igpu in intel_gpu_top. Passed /dev/dri to plex and everything mentioned in the first post.

After it worked with the igpu I wanted to remove the p600 but after this the hw accelerated transcoding was broken. Intel gpu top showed card1 now but only cpu transcoding was working now. I think the problem is that plex is expecting card0 but it's now card1 instead. Is there a way to change that the intel igpu is again recognized as card0? Tried switching in bios from PEG to IGD and back but it didn't work. Or is it possible to tell plex to use card1 instead of card0? Also have a monitor connected to the igpu hdmi port also tried a dongle in the displayport of the igpu but nothing worked. I tried to remove all the nvidia stuff like nivida device capabilites but nothing worked.

Seems to be resolved had an issue in the vfio bindings - after i deleted the content of my /boot/config/vfio-pci.cfg it worked - forgot that I had something configured there

My server crashed everytime somebody hit a hevc file on plex that needed transcoding. So something makes the whole server freeze. I now deleted the /dev//dri entry from plex and everything is fine again server survived the night without hanging. Will wait for kernel 5.15 or 5.16 in unraid.

I got it now running (using the official plex container) don't even need to provide the /dev/dri device to the container. But for HDR h265 content i had to disable HDR Tonemapping in the Transcoder settings. image.png.66c00a09af58df9e3c7f40dd3355de92.pngTranscoding a 2160p HDR movie to 1080p

My Plex Transcode Settings: (sorry they're in german)

    Pretty happy for now

    image.png.b371742b726ce082e4678f2366c32e1b.png

I'm using intel_gpu_top, 6.10-rc2, had to remove everything from my go file so no chmod 777 for the dev/dri and no modprobe command, set my primary output in bios to the igpu, blacklisted Driver as mentioned above and added the i915.force_probe=4680 to my boot device.

    Hope this might help

Alright, which isn't a terrible work around for the interim.

Otherwise, there isn't any glaring issues with what I'm expecting out of the hardware? The E-Cores should be able to handle the load of Unraid and my Dockers and the iGPU should have no trouble with my plex transcodes and then some?

At the moment as far as I know there is no HW support for transcoding with the igpu. At least I tried all the gen11 tricks that were mentioned on reddit and this forum and none worked for me.

Just for clarification I run (Spare parts from old systems for GPUs and RAM):

    Intel 12600K

    48 GB of DDR4 3000MT

3x 8TB Samsung QVO SATA SSDs

    2x 512GB NVME SSDs

    Quadro P600

    GTX 1650

Ethernet Dongle (same issue as mentioned above)

ConbeeII USB Stick, Logitech Wireless Dongle

    3x 120mm Noctua Fans

    1x 40mm Noctua Fans

    2x 92mm Noctua Fans

Yeah a lot of fans but the Server is right beneath my TV so it should be whisper quiet.

Are you happy with the power consumption? Most reviews target on full load but not on idle/low load which is more important in the Unraid context.

For me on the 12600k it looks pretty good in idle - better than the ryzen 3600 with a x570 mobo i used before...

Whole system power usage in idle is about 75watts and was about ~85-90watts and before i only used 2 Sticks of DDR4 Ram instead of now 4 Sticks

I think it could be better with undervolting but I prefer stability and don't want to invest time into finding a stable voltage..

And Idle for me means 10 Docker Containers running and 1 Windows VM with a dedicated GPU always on - the vm uses 6 P-Cores and most of the running docker containers share the e-cores

That's weird that there would not be a driver for Intel I225-V.

Yep but looks like this on boot.

So far I also found out, that I have to deactivate Above 4G decoding in the bios to get unraid to boot and the iGpu doesn't seem to be supported for now by the linux kernel which makes sense for now.

Looking forward to see what SimonF finds out, I think with ddr5 it might be even more interesting :)

  11. Just fyi - on my 12600k i can see using /dmesg

or (recommended) check for kernel updates.

I will try it out with the suggestions in the message in the coming days but maybe alder lake needs an updated linux kernel we'll see :)

edit: tried to use "i915.force_probe=4680" but didn't work for me

  12. Started today with a "MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4" and a 12600k, works like a charm - with unraid  6.10.0-rc2 - the only thing not working for me is the internal 2.5Gbit Ethernet - I'm using an external gigabit dongle at the moment - using the P-Cores for my HTPC/Gaming VM and the E-Cores for all the docker stuff and so on. (Used an old Ryzen 3600 before)

Looks pretty nice so far regarding CPU usage powerdraw etc. All the cores and threads are there correctly
