Hi all.
I'm looking to upgrade my current unraid setup I have been slowly upgrading for the last 7-8 or so years. Its starting to show its age Slow processing and Drives are ageing out.
Im looking to transition from a HP ProLiant dl380 with two LSI 9200-8E SAS9200-8E (Positive both are the same but at least one is this model) running a netapp DS2246 and a Netapp ds4243.
My hopes are to run two Array pools and a few ssd pools with a dozen or so unassigned drives Across two separate servers.
system Goal
Server 1 = would be just a dirt cheap micro atx with minimum specs solely for running a 30 drive array, and unassigned devices. purpose is for media eg, PLEX, SAB, Sonarr, Radarr, Home automations.
Server 2 = (EX Gaming pc) would be running a 30 drive array and ssd pools for hosting game servers, plex and transcoding, VMs and others.
someone is selling a Dell SCv360 Expansion Enclosure Locally it will be fully loaded with 6tb sas drives. (Something like this)
My Questions are.
Will I be able to connect each server to the 2 independent controllers of the SCv360 and have full access to 30 drives each server to create a pool array?
Can I also connect the other two netapp enclosures to allow access for the servers to have the ability to use 2.5" and 3.5" drives?
Will the current LSI 9200-8E SAS9200-8E be suitable and give me maximum speeds to allow of this setup if possible and if so how many will i need? or is there better? I assume I will need another port to connect to the 3rd enclosure.
Hope this all makes sense
