  1. Which one are we supposed to use, all tutorial I have seen uses macvlan, what is the difference?
  2. Yes I do have dockers in br0, it is how I give my docker their own IP addresses, is this not how I am supposed to do it? I'll try the command and see if it fix things. Also what is the avahi daemon? Is this going to mess with my dockers? Thx
  3. Good day, I keep getting the following error. CPU: 6 PID: 7600 Comm: kworker/6:0 Tainted: P O 5.19.17-Unraid #2 I get it on different cpu number. Is this something to worry about? How do I fix it? jarvis-diagnostics-20230303-0652.zip
  4. Hi, I was wondering if it is better to have smaller specific cache pool or one big one for everything? I currently have a cache pool specifically for dockers/VMs, one for transfer/downloads and one that I use as a scratch pool. I am planning to update my server in the near future, and will end up with 4 extra slots for drive that I intend to fill with SSDs for cache. Making it a total of 8 sad dedicated to cache. So I am wondering how to configure them best Currently my cache drives are 4 x WD blue 500 GB. (2.5) 1 x crucial mx500, 500 GB (2.5) 2 x WD black, 500 GB (nvme) One the server switch happen, the crucial and 2 x WD black are gone, used for something else. I will buy 4 new sad in the 2.5 format. I have 2 options for that 8 drive cache setup. 1- Buy 4 x 1 TB. Set those 1 TB drive in a raid 10 pool and use it has a transfer / download cache. Take the other 4x 500 GB set them also as a raid 10 and use that as docker / VM cache pool. Which would give me a 2 TB cache for all my file transfer and downloads with a redundancy and 1 TB cache poll for my dockers and VMs. 2- buy 4x 500 GB ssd and set all of the 8 sad as a raid 10 cache that I would use for everything. Giving me 2 TB total cache. Is there one option better than the other? What are the plus of one versus the other? Thanks for you advices I am open to any other suggestions.

  6. Thanks I'll take a look
  7. Yeah, currently my server is running on a Asus crossword dark hero, 32 gig of ram, ryzen 5900x, few we red drive, green and wdnblue sad for cache, 2 we black nvme just for docker/VM cache. Been stable for a 2, 3 years but now it is starting acting up, freeze during party check, docker service crashing for no apparent reason ... Have to reboot the whole server for it to come back to normal. Was looking at the r730 for server grade hardware, plenty of ECC ram and more cpu core. Also for iDrac .... I know I want to upgrade, just hesitant on doing it again with consumer grade hardware. If I go consumer grade, I am looking at an Asus pro art z790, intel 13900k and 32 gig of ddr5 ram. .... So undecided lol
  8. Server would be mostly used a a Plex server, with all accompanying dockers, aar family, and file server. Nothing too fancy, maybe a VM or two for testing and learning purposes.
  9. For cards it would be a second HBA to link to a jbod case, a Quadro t1000 and a 10 gbe nic
  10. Thanks for the answer, yeah that is what I was thinking too. Since I would like for it to last for a while. Just need to figure out if the H330 that is in this power edge r730 is flashable to IT mode. The one I am looking at comes with redundant 2 x 750w. Think that is enough? Cheers,
  11. Hi, Currently contemplating building a new server. Need advice in choosing. I have 2 options in mind Either buy refurbished dell PowerEdge r730. Or build with an 13900k and regular hardware. Basically I want to know if it would be better to use real server hardware? Wich option would be the most stable. Thanks for your time!
  12. hey, i was wondering if there is any plan of adding NordLynx to DelugeVPN? or if there is a way to make it work right now? works like a charm with openvpn but would like to make it work with NordLynx to try and improve my download speed. love your work btw, i used a lot of your container, keep up to good work, your the best
  13. Hi, Just upgraded my hardware on my server, and I get some error that I don't understand. While I am waiting for my 5950x I had to use a 5600g, don't know if the fact that it is an APU could have something to do with it ? motherboard is ASUS x570 gaming e and ram is 4x 8 Gb XPG ddr4 gammix d10. error I get is kernel: pci 0000:09:00.0: BAR 9: failed to assign [mem size 0x00400000 64bit] on different BAR number and also mcelog: ERROR: AMD Processor family 25: mcelog does not support this processor. Please use the edac_mce_amd module I just can't figure out what those errors mean. also since hardware upgrade some of my dockers have been acting weird. wondering if, when I get my new cpu I should just try a fresh unraid install, see if it help. thank you for your time and help. diag file attached. jarvis-diagnostics-20211228-2143.zip

  16. Good day, finally was able to flash to IT mod, turns out I was forgetting to put a ':' at the end of the line to access the thumb drive in EFI ..... doh!!!! anyway, it is now flsh to firmware 20.00.07 in IT mode. everything seems to be working fine for now, i'll repost if I get another error. just the rebuild process is going way faster since flash, don't know if it is related but went from 75MB/sec to 130 MB/sec ... thanks all for your help.
  17. for now till I figure it out I updated to IR 07, I'll see if it works while I try to figure out how to cross flash it to IT mode

  24. hi all, I have 2 disks in my array that failed and went to emulated mode in the last 4 days, both disks are not even a year old yet. First one is a 4 tb wd red plus, hosting all my TV shows, went down, rebuild the array, all good. Second one, 2 days later, is another wd red plus, 4tb, went down, rebuild it, all good for not even a day and went down again. I know both disk are good as I tested them et the result showed no errors. Any idea what's going on? could it be because they're to full, almost at capacity now? or because I am currently re-transcoding all my libraries? too much read and writed back to back ? I am restoring the one that failed twice now. any help would be appreciated as it is getting annoying to restore, taking a lot of time and it is close to impossible to use plex while doing it. Movies keep buffering...... thanx jarvis-diagnostics-20211123-0725.zip
  25. Newbie question here, if I install a pihole docker running rsync and keepalived will the config stick after Container update or will have to redo everything again? other question, for now I have 2 adguard home setup with adguardhome-sync. is there a way to set them as fail over ? using keepalibed docker or something? if so anybody know how? hole point if to have the 2 ad blocker not run at the same time but have one take over just if primary goes down. thanks
