  1. OK yes the pro-key and the USB GUID are wrong so I need a new key how do I get that..?
  2. Had the same idea, took an old back up and recreated it using the newest version, copied over the /config folder from the original (maybe bad) USB and darn if it didn't boot right up. Via the GUI it looks like my pro key did not work but that could be because I was a couple of versions back before. It also looks like my shares did not make it over either. Any thoughts on how to get it back to normal...?
  3. I should also add that I tried ALL the boot options from the boot menu and they all just end in the same freeze and will not complete loading
  4. I have been having issues getting my Unraid settled in after replacing a dead server board. I was struggling with a Windows VM but I found another home for the Blue Iris app running there so that's off my radar. So today I was doing minor work on Unraid via the browser interface when the Unraid looked to become non-responsive. After a little looking it seemed that Unraid froze so I rebooted the server and Unraid will no longer finish loading, I have a monitor on the server so I can watch the loading process and it gets near the end and just stops, tried it 5 or more times with the same result. Is my USB stick the issue maybe....?
  5. We recently had a strong lightning storm that killed my SuperMicro motherboard which I replaced today. Mostly everything is running but one thing I can't work out is my Windows 10 VM does not have network access if I set the IP address static as I want it at 10.0.1.20. That's how this VM was running before the outage so I know it can work. The IP of the Unraid box is 10.0.1.10 and I can hit that just fine from inside my network (aka laptop for example) but I can't hit the VM's IP at all and from the VM there is no internet at all. The only way to get the VM to access the internet is to choose DHCP but that ends up giving me a weird 192.168 address which does not work form my environment. Any help would be great.....
  6. I tried every USB port and they all do the same thing, they allow the keyboard to work for things like BIOS settings and using it to select from the Unraid boot menu but once the Unraid login screen comes up the key board does not respond in any of the ports. Safe GUI did exactly the same.
  7. I actually tried that but although the USB keyboard works when I get to the Unraid login the keyboard does not seem to work.
  8. We had strong thunderstorm last night and it looks like the ethernet port on my Unraid server may have died (no lights at all). Unraid does seem to boot up normally as seen on the server monitor but the GUI is not available because the server is not on the network. I can move the network cable to the spare ethernet port and the lights come right up but I think the Unraid configuration is looking ONLY at port #1 and is set to not use the spare port. Since I can't get to the GUI there is no way to modify the network settings that I'm aware of, anyone have any ideas...?
  9. When I try to upload the diagnostic file I get a forum error saying I can only upload 25 files
  10. Over the last several weeks my Unraid server has had an issue where the CPU fan with go into turbo (loud) mode every 60-120 seconds and run at high speed for between 30 and 90 seconds at which point it will go silent again but will soon repeat. My CPU fan is a cooler master with 4 leads which means it's capable of IPMI control which I'm guessing is what's going on here. I however discovered that if I close down my PLEX docker the crazy fan stuff just stops but if I turn the PLEX back on the fan crazy stuff kicks back off again. I keep the PLEX docker updated and frankly it works fine but it does seem to cause this fan issue. Any thoughts...?
  11. Hello everyone, have not been here in a long time as my last Unraid build has been running very well but I do have an odd issue I wonder if anyone has seen or has ideas what may be causing this. My server is based on a Supermicro X10SL-F motherboard with a Xeon E3-1231 running at 3.4GHz, 32 GB ECC memory, 8 total spinning drives all 4 or 8 GB and Iron Wolf NAS drives. I have a single Windows 10 VM using the last 2 sets of cores (2/6 and 3/7) the other cores are fair game for everything else. Also running a Plex Server, OpenVPN and DelugeVPN all in docker containers. Under normal conditions the first 2 core pairs (0/4 and 1/5) see little CPU usage as shown in the load stat's on the Dashboard page. Also under normal conditions the cores dedicated to the Windows VM are rather active running in the 30-40 % area but that's because the Windows VM is supporting a Blue Iris camera system with 7 - 1080p cameras, I know this is not a commonly suggested implementation but it's been rock solid for me and I run the VM itself from an SSD. Now the issue - Every once in a while however the CPU usage shown in the load stat's for cores 0/4 and 1/5 are very erratic and one of the 4 will be pegged at 100%, but then quickly the 100% will jump to one of the other cores of these 4 and that bouncing around continues for ever, the cores that are not at 100% are running far higher than normal but not 100%, more like 50 to 60 %. The 4 core set running the Windows VM remains normal. I can stop all docker apps but still the first 4 cores are going crazy (or at least the load stat's think so). If I stop the array and re-start it everything falls back to normal and will stay that way for several days. I thought this was tied to my scheduled weekly parity check but I have turned that schedule off and it still happens. Everything seems to be running fine during these crazy CPU usage times but it concerns me, any thoughts. Running Unraid 6.4.1 by the way....
  12. I have a Windows 10 VM that I want to adjust the original vdisk.img size down. I originally set it to 500G but that's way too large so I would like to drop it down to about 200G, can I do that and how. I've search here but I always find the search function of this board to be less that functional.
  13. I have a Windows 10 VM running on a physical disk mounted inside the UnRaid array, this VM is running BlueIris NVR software and I don't find performance to be acceptable. I just purchased an SSD that I plan to run the VM on and it will NOT be part of the array. What would be the steps to simply move this production VM from it's current location over to this new SSD...? Many Thanks for the assistance.
  14. Well for the normal media streaming stuff one connection has been fine but I do have a Windows 10 VM running Blue Iris NVR software which has 8 3MP camera's attached as well as streaming those camera's out to 3-4 Imperihome clients. That all creates a significant amount of network traffic which seems to be pushing the limits of the single connection.
  15. Hey guys, I have two Gigabit ethernet ports on my Supermicro motherboard but never bothered to use the 2nd one as I had no spare wired ports on my switch. I just upgraded my switch and now have a spare port so my question to the guru's is should I bother attempting to bond the two ports...? If yes can someone link me to instructions on how to set it up correctly.
  16. I should also add that I'm NOT running this VM on an SSD but within the normal array. The reason is my SSD which was planned for the BI VM is only a 256GB and that turned out to be a little too small to hold that VM, a couple of other VM's I run and the normal UNRAID stuff and Docker stuff that folks run on the SSD. So I started the BI VM on SSD and once I moved it over to the array I noticed zero difference in performance.
  17. Yes, I'm running Blue Iris in a Windows 10 VM with very good results. My system is based on the SuperMicro MBD-X10SLC7 Motherboard and the Xeon E3-1231 with 32 Gigs of RAM. I run 8 camera's most are 1080p Hikvision but 3 are Amcrest 3k camera's. I run BI as a service (so it restarts itself) and I do notice that it does crash about once every two weeks but some troubleshooting has proven that when it crashes it's due to the 3 Android tablets running Imperihome with many camera's on the displays and the constant calls to BI for re-fresh. Since it re-starts itself this is not really an issue for me.
  18. Can I change the name of an active and running VM without it re-installing the OS...? I have two Windows 10 VM's, one was production and one was a test bed only. Due to some issues these have now swapped so the one that I have called "Windows 10 Test" is now my production VM. Not a huge deal but I would like to change the names if I can do that without it re-building the OS.
  19. I have a 250GB SSD as my cache drive, I use it for fast writes on common user shares and storage locations for a couple of Windows VM's I have running. I originally ordered a 2nd SSD with the intent to create a pool but I'm 2nd guessing that original decision. Here's why... The only data that a route thru the cache are media (Movies and TVShows) so that I can take advantage of the speed. Loosing a Movie would not be a major concern. I back up my VM's daily so should the SSD have issues recovery would be simple. With those two points in consideration the advantage of a pool sounds limited to me and I'm thinking that maybe I just use the 2nd SSD as either a mounted drive or a drive in the array that is simple reserved for my VM's and let the existing SSD handle just file caching duties. What do you guys think.....any other creative ideas...? I have the 2nd SSD just need to figure out what to do with it.
  20. This sounded like an awesome plugin to use but each time I have tried to fire it up it activates almost right away. 21. I have this same issue...! I can see some of my networked devices, like IP cameras and my DirecTV receiver but I see none of the UNRAID user shares or drives that are shared. I can of course see them on a standard Windows or Mac PC.
  22. Hmm.....I have that plugin installed (have for a long while) and it never told me that my disk 4 was mounted read only.
  23. Upgraded to 6.3.3 last night and started the "rebuild-tree" proves before going to bed. This morning it's done and things are looking good. The report does suggest that a few files were placed in lost+found so I have some work to do but all is good again. Is there a way to see (from the GUI) if any of the other drives are getting mounted in "read only"..?
