    Final update:

    Editing the network-extra.cfg file is not enough. the following script should be run as well:

    /usr/local/emhttp/webGui/scripts/update_services

    I hope this helps anyone who is looking to do something similar

    With the help of Alien BOB from https://slackware.nl/, I go to this solution:
    Download an ISO with your preferred desktop from https://slackware.nl/slackware-live/latest/ Login to live environment (user and password are: root) Proceed with setting up normally (install command: setup2hd) Select Install from ftp/http server Set the first path to https://slackware.nl/slackware/slackware64-14.2/ for the 14.2 release Set the package path to slackware64 Proceed with the installation normally
