  1. Thank for the reply. If i go for AMD, my goal will be to find one with igpu and discard the thought of using a dedicate gpu ? Edit : with some research, the only board i find with 1x16 lane and 2x4 lane is livemixer from asrock
  2. Hello, For a heavy duty nas, i want at the end to have a setup like : 1 gpu for compute work/virtualization (not my priority) 1 gpu for video streaming 1 10G card I maybe got a deal for an I7-14700F and some DDR5, my probleme is for the most basic motherbord DDR5 i find for socket 1700, the setup of pcle are always like : 1 x 5/4 gen pcle x16 (16 lane) 1 x 4 gen pcle X16 (4 lane) 1/2 x 3 gen pcle x1 (1 lane) I have some questions : For a video streaming gpu, is 4 lane of enough ? i have an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 3GB i can use Is it worth to down to find something in DDR4 instead ? Is there a difference betrween intel and amd arrangement of pcle ? For a 10G card there a 2G bottleneck on a 3 gen pcle x1 (1 lane), is this a total no go ? (my internet go up to 8G max and i will have a other NAS with a 10G)
  3. Thank you for your response. For a database, where is right place to put it ? if not array/zfs pool, in a btrfs pool ?
  4. Hello, i want to begin a project to go from my "multipurpose" unraid server from 2 unraid server : one dedicaded for storage, running 24/24, the most power efficient, in charge at most of down/uploading , manage media(audio/video), cold storage one for heavy lifting, running on request or/and on shedule, do task that are gpu/cpu-intensive, host dev tools (jenkins/git), host stream app, host a large database, ect ... I have already two unraid key, a basic one and a plus, from an old project and my current NAS, which is not well configured and need a fresh start I have a lot of question, that i will be posting in their categories, for parts and likes. Here are my general questions : For plex/jellifin app, will the storage on an other server cause lag ? My two server will be on the same network i play with, is it worth to connect the two on their own network ? I read that wake on lan work with unraid, did shutdonw on lan exist ? I had the idea of using only SSD on the heavy one, will cache be useless ? Which component is important for data transfer ? if i put a 10G network port in some "old" component will it be OK ?
