  1. Em yes it does boot with a clean install. And fyi i didnt start another thread for the same issue, but for other ones. Or is this related to the kernel panic?
  2. igk posted a topic in General Support
Ok so om getting frustrated with all the issues.. Aside from kernal panics.. When i eventually successfully boot up the server, it sometimes doesnt get the assigned IP... The webui works sometimes sometimes no, if it works it usualy gives ne a wrong password entered...(i use q password manager and yes the password is correct) The same happens as.described above, on a NEW usb stick and on a fresh install.. Also same from a backup I pulled the server apart and tested each and.every component..everything works fine..even windows is.running fine on said server.. I dont know what to do anymore really..im not going back to OMV thats for sure. Kernel panic support thread: https://forums.unraid.net/topic/113779-my-kernel-had-a-panic-attack/
  3. Ok so...restored to anew usb stick and it worked... However! The router failed to assign the static ip adress, thus i had to hard reset the server...and behold...kernel panicked again.. After.another hard reboot...everything is fine...as far as booting into unraid is concerned... Does anyone have any idea why is my kernel panicking? Btw, both usb sticks work fine on windows...
  4. Would you believe i dont have any othet avaliable atm?:) Ill go buy one tmrw...
  5. So, i reformated the usb stick again, as per instructions, this time with a clean install - no restore...and yes panicked kernel again... The usb stick defective or wth?
  6. So yeah...did the procedure..kernel panicked again..
  7. Ty ill try it tomorow, currently running a memtest
  8. Unraid app, wipe the usb stick...i mean its basicly a click here restore (right?) Backup was made last week when everything worked
  9. So yeah...turned my server of a few days ago...started it back up again...and i got a msg that my kernel had a panic attack.. Can't post any additional pics atm, but can do later.. Nothing on the server changed, hardware wise... I restored my USB stick from a backup.. Soo..help pls:(

TLDR; 1 data drive failed Installed a second parity(larger) disk Resynced new parity drive Reassigned old parity drive as new data drive Rebuilt the data drive Relax

I ordered new disks before one of my data drives failed..so yeah.. Mine is a mid tower with space for 8 drives, plus atleast 3 in the cdrom caddy:) Ty for all the help

Hmm makes sense..problem is, i ordered disks that are smaller then this new 4tb parity... Ok so untill i get my new drives, i can reassign my old parity drive as the replacement data drive??

Em not exactly, but thats part of the reason. Always the plan to have a brand new hdd for parity. I would use it for data untill my new hdds arrive (next week or so), untill then my data is not protected...Plus this is good practice for when i switch all my data to unraid,,
