  1. I backed up the boot drive, how do I upgrade to v6 from v5?
  2. Whats the best way to backup a flash drive on unraid 5?
  3. Could I install unraid v6 on a new USB drive and try to boot up from that?
  4. Mobo: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 DDR3 AMD 890GX RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB DDR3 1333 CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4GHz AM3 I may have to try to re-seat all the hard drive wiring, disk8 is just showing up uninstalled so I don't think it'll give me any SMART info on it
  5. So do I pull that drive and plug it (with one to clone it to) into another machine to run the ddrescue? Sounds like thats worth a shot at least
  6. How do I repair the filesystem on disk1? After it is repaired should I try to replace disk8?
  7. Agreed, that's the plan! Hoping to get this up and running, back up what I need to, then start from the ground up. Attached is the SMART report, I selected the longer test and the page refreshed with this pretty quickly. Can you tell if the test failed and ended or if these results are incomplete and I need to wait a few hours for it to update? Smart Report.txt
  8. Hey all, I got lazy about keeping up with my NAS for a few years and powered it on to check if it still worked. I have a 12-disk array with 1 parity drive and I was greeted to 1 drive showing "not installed" and the rest are fine (I think) though another is showing as unformatted. -Can I check that the other drives are actually healthy when I cant start the array? -How do I figure out why disk1 is showing as unformatted? I don't think thats how it should be. -I ordered a new harddrive the same model as I was ordering previously, my understanding is I replace disk8 and it should try to rebuild the array with the other drives. Is that correct? What other steps should I be taking to get this back up and running? Thanks for the support!
  9. I didn't log in to unraid for a while (maybe a few years ) and I think one of the drives failed. When it came online one of the drives is listed as uninstalled. How do I troubleshoot what's wrong? What do I do?
  10. Still not able to download plugins or send e-mail with both set to Yes
  11. Attached are my network settings. Would a change to these require a reboot? It disabled then reenabled SMB when I clicked apply. Haven't rebooted (preclearing a drive atm) but still no dice
  12. My Unraid box will talk to everything on our network just fine but won't connect to anything outside of the network. This makes installing packages and plugins a major pain, among other things. I swear I've checked and double checked all my config files and I've gone through the "initial setup" and "troubleshooting" steps multiple times to no avail. Tried to attach a syslog, it was too big, heres a link: http://pastebin.com/iLtAZNue. here's my network.cfg: # Generated network settings USE_DHCP=YES IPADDR=192.168.0.3 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 GATEWAY=192.168.0.1 I ran ipconfig on my windows machine and confirmed the 255.255.255.0 netmask. Here's the results of ifconfig on the Unraid box: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr f4:6d:04:0f:be:50 inet addr:192.168.0.3 Bcast:192.168.0.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:62715 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:41223 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:67105756 (63.9 MiB) TX bytes:8765882 (8.3 MiB) Interrupt:48 Is Bcast the problem? My gateway is 192.168.0.1, even if I turn off DHCP I get the same Bcast. Thoughts?
  13. I bought the HighPoint Rocket 640L controller card. The rest of my build is: Mobo: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 DDR3 AMD 890GX RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB DDR3 1333 CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4GHz AM3 PSU: RAIDMAX Blackstone series RX-700AC 700W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V I currently have 5 3 TB Seagate Barracudas as 1 Parity+4 data drives, and a 1 TB cache drive I'm running apps like MySQL on (and I transfer about 120-200 gb per week to the machine). The machine boots fine, and everything works perfectly, but the drives I have fill the 6 SATA III slots on my mobo, so time for an expansion card. I bought the Rocket 640L and hooked it up. Without any drives connected, the system boots fine. I can boot into the bios for it using CTRL-m, but if I connect a drive to it, somewhere between the initial mobo BIOS and booting into unRAID, a red LED on the MOBO goes off and the machine resets. What are the steps I should be going through to troubleshoot and hopefully get the card to work? Or is it even worth the hassle, ie should I just return it and get a card that "just works" with unRAID?
