  1. So my old motherboard appears dead on my old unRaid server. So I am trying to migrate the drives to a new PC. From what I have read in old posts I should just be able to plug in the drives and it should mostly work. However I have a few questions/issues that I want to get clarified before I risk all my data. Since my PC did not shut down "properly" am I going to have any issues. I did read some people had to tell unRaid "parity" is correct and was curious if that would cause issues as my system didn't shut down properly. I was using 5 drives before but the new motherboard only has 4 ports can I use a external enclosure for the last drive? Will it still recognize all the drives and setup correctly? (I don't need this drive long term but wanted to use it temporarily it was also added as an unassigned device using the "Unassigned Devices" plugin. Any other suggestions or tips I would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
  2. Thank you so much for the response and some great suggestions. I did have a USB 2.0 port so ended up going that route for now. Also great to know its easy to change flash drives and that you can only do so once a year. Thanks again for the information.
  3. So I am brand new to unraid and haven't set it up at all yet. But was looking to setting it up this evening, Sadly I don't seem to have a optimal USB thumb drive sadly, and some misc googling wasn't able to come to a great conclusion. I have 3 possible thumb drives listed below. Which of the following would be recommended? Or none? 32GB USB 3.x 2GB USB 1.x 1GB USB 2.x (Just put .x on all because I know the major but not the minor version) Thank you in advanced for the help
