Because they are cover files from CD covers. In windows it's normall that those are hidden Don't ask me why, thats how they made windows

I made the smb-extra.conf file, but it didnt work. folder.jpg files still showed up

I have this problem when I transfer a music album with a hidden folder.jpg. When its transfered on the unraid server, the folder files gets unhidden. Is there a solution to this problem? When I try to rehide the file with windows, nothing happens.

Seems there is another problem with the drive. HPA is enabled, this is what I get from using WHS for 2 years before I've build a small ghetto server (mobo in a paper box) and will look into the AAM, if it is enabled. If I remember correctly, then I used openmediavault for that.

I have a HP ProLiant MicroServer N36L with 4 identical drives in the front SATA slot. Official bios with all the settings checked. Untill now 1 of the drives is very slow during pre-clearing. I'm doing a second pre-clear on it, but it's still on 9Mb/s The drives are around 3 years old, I tested another drive and those speeds are as they should be. Here is my log file for the ones that are interested in helping me to analyse this problem - Could it be a bad drive? - Or could it be an AAM setting, does an acoustic mode have any inpact on this process?
