  1. Prostuff1, could you test building parity with those cards? I'm seeing lots of errors. I'm working with Limetech, SuperBiiz and Supermicro to investigate this.
  2. Initially the worked for me. As soon as I tried to build parity there were lots of errors. I got mine from SuperBiiz as well. Have you swapped them out for known good controllers? Could it be the motherboard? Seems unlikely you'd get 2 duds. I've done some extensive testing with different motherboards, ram, cpu, power supply, hard drives and even some other 8-port controllers. Only the new SASLP-MV8's are failing.

  4. I've just received 3 AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards and non of them are functioning correctly. I've done some extensive testing with different motherboards, ram, cpu, power supply, hard drives and even some other 8-port controllers. Only the new SASLP-MV8's are failing. I think there is a bad batch of these cards out there at the moment.
  5. I absolutely love it. I love shuttles. This is totally hands down cool!!
  6. unRAID 5 is a moving target. Maybe unMenu changed, you may have to install unRAID SNAP manually. The two files are the install buttons I'm assuming. I've got to get a shipment out but I'll take a look later if I get a chance.
  7. I just bought one for a 21 drive Green Monster. Upgrade at no additional charge. Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk

  9. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I have been busy with other things, but finally I think I have done what you suggested. I am attaching a syslog, the two commands you suggested, run before attaching the usb drive (elements) and again after attaching it, and also a Windws screen dump showing that although I can see my flash drive and the two disks in the array, I can't see my SNAP attached drive. Thanks. root@ukutlxd01:~# /boot/config/snap/snap.sh -listDevInfo unRAID=Yes SNAP=No 3522 /dev/sda ata-Hitachi_HDS5C3020ALA632_ML0220F311TBND unRAID=Yes SNAP=No 3584 /dev/sdb ata-WDC_WD20EARS-00MVWB0_WD-WCAZA3244757 unRAID=Yes SNAP=No 3522 /dev/sda scsi-SATA_Hitachi_HDS5C30_ML0220F311TBND unRAID=Yes SNAP=No 3584 /dev/sdb scsi-SATA_WDC_WD20EARS-00_WD-WCAZA3244757 unRAID=No SNAP=No 3678 /dev/sdc usb-SanDisk_U3_Cruzer_Micro_43184218C210FC6A-0:0 unRAID=No SNAP=No 13279 /dev/sdd usb-WD_10EADS_External_57442D574341563531333234383032-0:0 The contents of your snap.list file is: 57442D57434156353133234383032= 57442D57434156353133234383032-0:0= 57442D574341563531333234383032=elements So what has happened is you have tried to add the drive to SNAP 3 times. Two of those times the identifying serial number was incorrect. I highlighted them in green. The correct one unfortunately doesn't have the share name so it's not working. You can either edit the snap.list file and fix it or delete the file and add the drive to SNAP once more like this: snap.sh -a 57442D57434156353133234383032-0:0 elements After that the snap.list file should have one entry looking like this: 57442D57434156353133234383032-0:0=elements
  10. In Windows telnet window you should be able to right-click and select all and then press enter key. The contents are now in the clipboard and you can paste into notepad. Telnet in and run /boot/config/snap/snap.sh -listDevInfo Also run cat /boot/config/snap/snap.list Post the output.
  11. +1 on the thanks for the br10i support Sent from my SPH-M900 using Tapatalk
  12. By AFP do you mean Apple Filing Protocol? Isn't that a network protocol?
  13. I installed it on my windows machine so I picked the one with setup.exe in the name. It will ask for the host name of your unRAID machine (tower) or the IP address.
  14. havent tried watch folders I'm use "transmission remote GUI" on my main computer it acts almost like it was an local client. http://code.google.com/p/transmisson-remote-gui/ Thanks Heretic. That works hugely better than the transmission web interface that comes with the package. I set btjunkie to post the new torrents to it and it's working great.
  15. Great work everyone. I'm using uTorrent but want to replace it with transmission which I installed from the unMenu package management page a week or so ago. But I'm back on uTorrent while I work out some questions I have. 1. Where is the best place to get the latest transmission? The first posting or googlecode? 2. I noticed that the web ui has an Add Transfers setting. Is it the torrent watch folder, the incomplete folder or the completed folder? Does it override or replace any transmission setting - if so, which one? 3. I would like to have the files downloaded to my cache drive. Is it also possible to install or move transmission application over there - if so, what is the best way (copy, reinstall, ...) 4. I experimented with the watch folder by copying the magnetic torrent files from btjunkie down to there. Its works but it's a tedious manual process. Is there a better way?
  16. If you mean the Destroyer then it's a pretty good case for the price. It's smaller than a 9 bay case so that is it's real appeal I suppose. Lots of ventilation so that's a plus.
  17. How long have you had the cage? This is the first time I've heard of this so I'm interested. Mine never had a problem with the trays, they fit quite snug. Is it possible you have one that's not sitting in the track? What make/model of drive are you using?
  18. Unless you are trying to get something really server class-ish like IPMI then there's not much of an advantage over many of the desktop motherboards for an unRAID server. Why not just save the money for something like another hard drive?
  19. I updated the first post with the LAN information. That toaster is related to the famed Talkie Toaster. Not as good looking but still a hard worker. I think this will be the first motherboard with the AMD SB850 South Bridge chipset.
  20. I'm building a server for a client who wanted this motherboard so I'm getting it Level 1 certified. Mobo: MSI 880GMA-E45 CPU: Sempron 145 RAM: G.skill F3-12800CL9S-4GBRL ripjaws HDD's used in test: 2 7200 rpm Seagate 1.5TB, 1 rpm Seagate 500GB 7200 rpm LAN: RTL8111DL North Bridge: AMD 880G South Bridge: AMD SB850 The 6 Sata ports are all SATA 6Gb/s. Here's the bios settings I used. I made these settings with just the unRAID flash plugged (no hard drives yet) so Under Boot Sequence the flash drive was the only boot device showing. If you have other drives installed then you will also have to set the boot device to flash drive only.
  21. unRAID 4.7 and there is a cache drive. I tried what was offered here but no change. Tried deleting from cache drive, then all the \\tower\disk# shares followed by blanking and applying the share, then reboot. Damn thing comes back again. What is the way to get rid of this thing for good?
  22. Surge protectors do nothing about brown outs which is what kills most electronics.

As replacements for the rear, middle or both? Only checked the rear fans.... That's the way I read it but wanted to check. I assume if they fit the rear they would fit the middle anyway but not necessarily vice-versa.
  24. It's a beauty! Definitely go with the green drives. That psu can handle up to 20 green drives. Good future proofing and energy miser. unRAID will use maybe 3% of one of the cores so lots of extra processing for add ons.
  25. What model psu is that: SS-350ES or SS-350ET or something else. The Cyberpower you suggested would be big enough. I have a Cyberpower 1350 and I use it for 2 computers. I don't know anything about the Opti brand.
