  1. Hey, thanks for the answer but that wasn't it. I actually managed to figure it out
  2. Hey, first of all thank you for the work on this, I love this. I'm running it on unraid without issue, it's been great. I have a second install on a VPS which I'm trying to figure out. Currently the issue I'm having is with accessing rutorrent. I start the docker and it shows as bound to 0.0.0.0:ports but I can't access it. The only way I've been able to get at is through an ssh tunnel. If I ssh tunnel myself into my vps and access it at 127.0.0.1:9080 I get in. I'm assuming this is some kind of routing or iptables issue. The VPS is Debian and it doesn't really have a "LAN" address. The only IP I see is my external routable IP which I access the VPS through. What is the significance of the "LAN" setting on this container? And would anyone have any idea what I might have to configure it to in this case? Thank you! EDIT: I actually figured it out finally. In the docker run command I had to change the default -p 9443:9443 to -p 0.0.0.0:9443:9443. Apparently this is pretty common where you have to explicitly tell it to bind to 0.0.0.0 instead of its default which is 127.0.0.1.

Hey all, was looking for some input from the community. Currently I'm running unraid on a QNAP NAS but I was thinking of just moving it to my desktop. The desktop is a first or second gen Ryzen 5 chip and it runs Windows. Most of the time it's just mining some eth on the RTX2060 that is in there but I also sometimes use it for gaming and VR. So here's the main question. I know Windows in an unraid vm will still do everything just fine. The issue is right now that desktop PC is beside my TV so that I can run the VR in the living room and can play other games using a PS4 controller. If I were to convert it to unraid I wouldn't want to keep it in the living room anymore but rather off in my little IT closet. We have a young kiddo so keeping the NAS out of reach is a good idea Is there some way to still be able to pull this off? I guess the best thing would be to have some dumb terminal beside the TV that I could plug my BT dongle and the VR headset into.
  4. Does this docker have the ability to connect to the netdata cloud? I've been trying to figure out how to do that.
  5. Ooh I saw this mentioned in another thread, thanks for reminding me! Appreciate the response, I'll have to dig around a bit.
  6. Hey I'm kind of looking to do something like this but only to use the drives as single units, not part of any array. I'm running unraid on a qnap nas so I'm tapped out for space and would love to just be able to add a two slot external USB enclosure. Is there anything to look for or avoid in terms of USB enclosures?
  7. Hey all, question about SMB share permissions. So I have a private share which I log into from my mac. I can see everything in there and the permissions are rwx------ on everything. Even though I logged in I still cannot delete anything. When I changed it to public I can delete and do anything I want. What am I missing here?
  8. Ah you read my mind, I want to be able to share them as well. Thank you for that! I'll probably just use pools instead.
  9. Hey all, I'm pretty new here so please bear with me. I have a question about using standalone drives in UNRAID. I understand that the idea with unraid is to have this nice array with parity and everything but I'd still like to use a couple standalone drives. I've configured my array, which is just a single drive with a parity drive, for my important data but I want to also just have some drives which don't need any parity. Is the best way to do this with the Unassigned Devices plugin? Thank you
  10. Oh interesting, I actually have the exact question but I am sure my drives are JBOD and not part of any array. I wonder if qnap tags them with something dumb, though, which prevents them being read directly. If they were some compatible format is there any chance I could just use them as is in my Unraid? I don't have anywhere to back these drives up to right now and I intend to actually install unraid on my qnap box. I have 2x6TB which are JBOD and then a RAID 1 array of 2TB. I know the 2TB array wouldn't transfer over but I'm hoping I can do something with those 6TBs.
  11. Hi guys! I'm kind of stoked that I found these posts. I have a 451+ that was just about to replace with an Asustor but this seems like a great idea, better than spending money. I upgraded mine to 8GB ages ago. I just tried installing the latest QNAP firmware (v5.0) and it messes everything up, system doesn't hold DNS so nothing works. It's a total and complete mess and I'm so sick of their QTS. Someone in here had a 451+, how's that working?
