  1. Sure, why not spend $16 and get Newznab +, scrounge up a PC, install Ubuntu 12.04 and have your own personal indexing rig in 3-4 hours, running headless. I did, and its not difficult to do. If you have a "fat pipe", it may be a good investment. But the fact is, there's still plenty of "free" resources available for the information being discussed in this topic.
  2. Happy New Year - I too can vouch for the web-server not automatically starting upon a reboot, well so far its 4 out of 4 reboots. Something else, totally unrelated... the shares on the Tower are not visible from my PCH....
  3. Yep, I have every model of the PCH except the 300 series, and if I needed one I would buy it.
  4. I started to say, good thing I'm buying Hitachi disks, but I see now where WD is buying Hitachi Q3/2011, right about now...perhaps already have in which case I would assume both disks are manufactured in the same flooded facility.....
  5. "downloading torrents" = oxymoron
  6. Appreciate it guys. And yes I did purchase: Description: Quantity 2: 2GB USB2.0 Flash device containing unRAID Server OS Pro registration So I reckon I'm good to go on another box. Now if either fail, Ill just purchase new one's or see what Tom can do. No biggie one way or the other. Thankx Richard
  7. Hello, I need to build another Tower. I purchased (2) Pro Licenses, but I'm not sure if I registered the spare. I simply cant remember. Is there a way to tell? I would like to use the spare for another box. Also, if the original Flash (the 1 currently being used) failed, is it possible to have it replaced / purchased so I wouldn't lose any data? Sorry, these may be simple but I cant find much that is relative to my questions. Thankx in advance Richard
  8. The disk is rebuilding itself now. I appreciate the info and Ill keep and eye on it. Thankx Richard
  9. I appreciate the suggestion Joe. The cable seemed to be OK, and I reseated the disk in the slot. Attached is the SMART report.... SMART_16.txt
  10. Hello, I put in a new disk 2 days ago, cleared it, and copied approx 1TB of data to it. This afternoon I get a dreaded red X (disabled) status. I believe the disk has bellied up on me. As I look through the log, looks like it never mounted correctly. Here is a small sample of the attached syslog of the disk: Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: md: disk16 read error Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: handle_stripe read error: 820528600/16, count: 1 Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: ata9: translated ATA stat/err 0x51/04 to SCSI SK/ASC/ASCQ 0xb/00/00 Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: ata9: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: ata9: error=0x04 { DriveStatusError } Mar 30 18:16:58 Tower kernel: md: disk16 read error Is the anything to do except replace it? All info appreciated. Thankx Richard disk16.txt
  11. That done the trick. Much appreciated. Great plugin by the way...
  12. Hello and I hope everyone had a great Christmas. OK, yesterday I installed MyMain plugin from UnMenu and everything looks good so far. I've read several posts and pretty much figured a lot of things out. What I don't "see" are the MyServer and MySlots .jpg files. Their "links" point to http://tower/log/images/MyServer.jpg and MySlots.jpg. All other "icons" eg; Samsung, WD, refresh are displayed correctly and are functional. As suggested, I modified MySlots to resemble my configuration in \\tower\flash\unmenu\images\stock, MyServer is fine. From a command line, ls -l /var/log the output shows that the /var/log/images directory is linked to /boot/unmenu/images. I believe this is correct. But still no images. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thankx
  13. Depends on how many licenses you want to buy I would think....I believe the "home" version is 1 license > 1PC.
  14. I just ordered the HITACHI Deskstar HD32000 at NewEgg for $119. Not a bad deal ...be sure to add the promo code
  15. Same here .... on the AOC-SASLP-MV8 cards. I have a couple of them.

  17. Joe, here are the results from the long SMART tests. When I built the server I performed a MemTest on the 4GB installed, said no problems. 18. Hello, I began preclearing 4 disks yesterday morning, and earlier today noticed 2 of them had basically "stalled". I stopped the 2 "stalled" sessions, 1 at 6 hours, the other around 2 hours into the process. The other 2 completed the script indicating they had not been precleared, both with this error. === = unRAID server Pre-Clear disk /dev/sdh = cycle 1 of 1 = Disk Pre-Clear-Read completed DONE = Step 1 of 10 - Copying zeros to first 2048k bytes DONE = Step 2 of 10 - Copying zeros to remainder of disk to clear it DONE = Step 3 of 10 - Disk is now cleared from MBR onward.
