  1. Copy that. Thank you. I will let the parity rebuild finish, reboot and recheck.. I will also look at updating the OS. Thanks!
  2. Yeah, sorry.. All I did was replace the cache drive with a larger nvme. Started everything up, shares are missing. I was thinking that the share configs were stored on the cache drive as a result.. Any idea why the shares are missing now? I was going to just wait for the parity to finish rebuilding and then reboot and recheck, but Im sleep deprived and a little spun out right now. Thank you for the help.
  3. I upgraded the m.2 cache drive, and I just sent it, I didn't do a backup and now the old drive is formatted. I screwed up. I no longer have any shares setup. I see the share config files on the USB though, so Im wondering if there is a way to recover the share/user info off of the usb and back onto the cache. Im an idiot.. Thanks for helping me out with this. tower-diagnostics-20230214-1533.zip
  4. Located in Boise, Idaho. Full disclosure: I bought this card, but cant seem to get it to work with my system. I can boot into the cards bios, it shows its working, etc., but when I try to flash it into IT mode, FreeDos hangs on my system. I'm competent enough with IT related tasks to get myself into trouble, this is honestly out of my league. Only thing I've done was re-paste under the heat sink with Noctua NT-H1 thermal paste and tape the required non-Dell system PCIe pins (completely reversable) and plug it in and pull out my hair. I have another HBA incoming. If you want this, the first $28 takes it, shipping included. Card really does look to be in perfect shape.
  5. Im guessing that my SATA expansion card is dying. I just placed an order for a Dell Perc H310 HBA. Ill have to wait until I get that to try to get it working again. The disk is connected on a shared power cable with 3 other drives. Hasnt ever been an issue before, but I can try a different cable to that drive alone. Im still putting my money on the SATA card being the culprit though. Thank you for the advice and help.
  6. Well, I tried rebuilding it and got errors. Here is a Diag log.. This time with no shutdowns. Please help. Thanks! gaia-diagnostics-20220913-1843.zip
  7. I did look at the link, thank you for that. I will dig deeper into it for sure.. I do have new memory inbound and will double check it when I get it in. I will let the drive complete an extended self-test and if it doesn't choke, I will move ahead on a rebuild. I wish I had a spare, but times are tight unfortunately. Thank you for all your help. I really appreciate it.
  8. Docker is now disabled. I have removed drives over the past year (consolidating with 8tb drives vs the small drives I had in there before. I didn't want to mess with the drive assignments too much in the configurations because I didn't want to mess anything up with the linking to the current shares. I think it was actually a power supply issue. All the fans and HDDs just stopped spinning and the system went dark. Wouldn't restart until the main switch was cycled. Likely my fault for pushing a cable away from a fan while it was on (new config, no side panels yet)
  9. Unraid hard crashed, so this is the only DIAG log I was able to pull after I got it back up. gaia-diagnostics-20220913-1558.zip
  10. Im working on downloading them now, but my main PC blue screened half way though, so process started all over again now on my laptop.
  11. Ive spun it up, down and stopped the array, restarted it... Swapped the SATA cable, etc. Cant seem to figure out whats going on. When I first discovered the issue, I couldnt perform a SMART check, so I shut everything down, swapped the SATA cable, it seems to respond now (I can perform a SMART check, etc) but it will not re-integrate with the array. It also shows mounted under the file system status.. Im lost. Something weird seems to be going on with this that Im missing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. System and SMART logs are attached. gaia-syslog-20220913-2028.zip gaia-smart-20220913-1329.zip
  12. My father needs a NAS, but doesn't need much more than just a file server for backups and general file storage. I have some OLD components laying around, a Core 2 Duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz, 4gb of memory and an ASUS P5N-D mobo. I am planning on populating it with 2 6tb drives (one for parity), and letting him have at it. Is this going to be enough for even just general file storage? I've got it up and running on a test bench currently and its working, I just don't know if I'm going to be giving my father more of a headache than anything or if you all think it will be just fine. Thanks! This is the proc load I'm getting doing a large file transfer in at ~97MB/sec from my UnRaid box.
  13. So then there shouldn't really be an issue with running say 8 or 10 of the 4tb MX500 drives as long as I implement a proper TRIM protocol and ignore the false positives?
  14. Hi all, I'm currently running a 36tb Unraid array on spinning platters. I'm considering making the switch to all SSD's via Crucial MX500 4tb drives (I can get a killer deal on these). Any issue running all SSD's? How is the life expectancy? I've seen some past posts about these particular drives not playing very nice and was wondering if that is still an issue? I appreciate the feedback!
