  1. Hello everyone! Is there a list of motherboards and CPU that supports VT-d/AMD-Vi support? I plan to virtualize my current unRAID setup but I don't know if pass-through is supported. Maybe you guys can help me. Current unRAID setup: BIOSTAR A760G M2+ AMD Athlon II X2 250 7 2TB drives and 1 160GB PATA cache drive Esxi 5 setup: Asus M4A88T-M AMD Athlon II X2 250 Can any of those motherboards support a virtual unRAID server? Can anyone recommend motherboards that supports a virtualized unRAID set up. Thanks!
  2. Can't wait for its release! Edit: Plex 0.9.5 is now available. YESS! Waiting for the Unraid/Slackware version.
  3. Thanks bonienl! Still on 0.8 and would like to try yours but your site is down ATM.
  4. I read the review as well as your comment. You should also have added the great community support and plugins
  5. I just tested Email Notifications addition of Simple Features and it is a great addition. Very easy to set up also. Thank you very much Madburg and speeding_ant!
  6. We need more information on your setup. What added applications are you running on your unraid server and what clients are you using to access the files on your server?
  7. In addition to what you already have, I also use Plex, Airvideo, and subsonic. Awesome stuff! My media is accessible from anywhere with apps on my android phone.
  8. On 24/7. All drives spin down though.
  9. The plugin system has not even really been implemented. The true plugin system will be more than the current ones you see. I see. Can't wait to see and use the upcoming plugin system. Thanks prostuff1 for chiming in.
  10. This is great! Stokkes, are these plug-ins a preview of the plug-in system for unRaid 5? Your Plex plugin was the first one I encountered the was implemented in a new way with the unraid system.
  11. -Did you add the client, your desktop, to the network you created that contains unraid as the gateway? -Add a secondary DNS like 8.8.8.8 to your unraid network settings. There was a post earlier of adding a public dns. -check to see if you have Hamachi ports being forwarded in your router. They should be created automatically if your router is upnp compliant. Hope that helps.
  12. The "cache-only" share feature was added on 5.0-beta8.
  13. Upgraded to .3 perfectly. Any advantages and disadvantages of running Plex other that root? Was that implemented for security reasons?
  14. I stopped Plex Media Server and ran the command below in the terminal but it did not start PMS after 1 minute. It didn't start it at all. I got this message when I ran the command: warning: commands will be executed using /bin/sh echo "/boot/custom/plex/plex.sh >/dev/null 2>&1" | at now +1 minute
  15. A few things 1) Try adding this line instead in your /boot/config/go (this SHOULD work.. let me know). /boot/custom/plex.sh &> /dev/null |& at now + 1 minute 2) Add the .tgz to /boot/extra so that it gets installed. The alternative is to use the "Light" version and manually install plex on your cache drive or your array. It's up to you. There should be no reason to do an "installpkg" in your go. There shouldn't be too many repercussions running Plex in memory as nothing really gets written to the install dir (it all goes into the Application Support dir). Let me know! Stokes, I downloaded plex-0.2-i386-unRAID.tgz and copied it to flash/extra and all is working. PMS icon shows up in Utils and it automatically start up with the new code that you have provided. Thank you very much!
  16. Great work! Install went fine. After a server restart, Plex does not start automatically. I did a test run of the "/boot/custom/plex/plex.sh &> /dev/null & | at now + 1 minute" command from the terminal and got this error: -bash: syntax error near unexpected token `|' Also, the icon for "Plex Media Server" is not showing up in the Utils menu. Using the latest Simple features plug in. I had to add "installpkg /boot/custom/plex-0.1-i386-unRAID.tgz" in my go script if using "/usr/local/plex/" as the install directory since that resides in memory. I used the following configuration: Installed Directory: /usr/local/plex/ Application Support Directory: /mnt/cache/Apps/Plex/Library/ Temp Folder: /mnt/cache/tmp/
  17. Once Couchpotato is installed, you can use the Couchpotato gui to update to a newer version. There is no need to use the conf again. New installs will definitely need the updated conf.
  18. Thank you very much Stokkes! Will test this in a few minutes. Currently running plex on my cache drive. Does saving Plex user generated files in the protected array will keep the parity and the drive from sleeping?
  19. I got RuudBurger-CouchPotato-028951f.tar.gz. I had to update the .conf file with that file name and its md5 for me to be able to install it. Great work on the Sabnzbd, sickbeard, and couchpotato unmenu packages prostuff! Thanks! I'm starting to use these tools even though I've been using newsgroups for a decade.
  20. Been running a GA-P35+DS3r + Q6600 for a while now. 10.6 to 10.7 Mostly use Win7 but boot to the OSX HD sometimes. Did you say Bluray + OSX?
  21. Thank you for replying. I'm still monitoring this issue and so far has not returned in two days. Out of desperation, I swapped my power supplies from the Antec earthwatts 500 to my Corsair HX Series CMPSU-520HX. I also replaced my parity drive with a WD Black and moved added my old parity drive back in as Disk 6. Making a lot of changes does not really help diagnose the current issue I always thought ATA4 meant my cache drive which is PATA. Thanks for explaining the Smart report. So as the drive gets worse, the VALUE will get lower and closer to the THRESH value? 22. I thought I solved this issue but it came back two days ago. I removed my cache drive before I did a parity check thinking it is a power issue. Parity check completed with no errors but errors occurred in the syslog again today. I ran Smart Status report on my parity drive and although the SMART overall-health self-assessment test result returned as PASSED, it had a huge Raw_Read_Error_Rate. I will just replace the parity drive right now and do more test of the drive. ul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: cmd 25/00:b8:97:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 94208 in Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: res 51/40:57:e7:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 Emask 0x9 (media error) Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: error: { UNC } Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jul 23 23:58:28 Frank-Server kernel: ata4: EH complete Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: cmd 25/00:b8:97:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 94208 in Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: res 51/40:57:e7:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 Emask 0x9 (media error) Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: error: { UNC } Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jul 23 23:58:30 Frank-Server kernel: ata4: EH complete Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: cmd 25/00:b8:97:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 94208 in Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: res 51/40:57:e7:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 Emask 0x9 (media error) Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: error: { UNC } Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jul 23 23:58:32 Frank-Server kernel: ata4: EH complete Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x0 Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: irq_stat 0x40000001 Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: failed command: READ DMA EXT Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: cmd 25/00:b8:97:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 tag 0 dma 94208 in Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: res 51/40:57:e7:e7:a0/00:00:3b:00:00/e0 Emask 0x9 (media error) Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: status: { DRDY ERR } Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: error: { UNC } Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4.00: configured for UDMA/133 Jul 23 23:58:34 Frank-Server kernel: ata4: EH complete Attached is a syslog and smart status report of my parity drive. syslog-2011-07-24.txt Smart_info.txt
  23. I have no idea. The output of /proc/mdcmd is part of the "md" driver. unMENU is simply reporting what it finds. Have you performed a parity sync since you last rebooted? What does it say in the unRAID interface? Joe, I did a parity synced after I upgraded to beta9 and unMENU is now reporting the correct last time of Parity check.
  24. I'm getting parity errors all of a sudden. This is the second time that this is happening in 1.5 months. The only change that I made was adding a PATA 320gb 7200rpm cache drive, installing Plex and upgrading to an AMD X2 250 from a Sempron 140. Attached is my syslog. Please check and help me diagnose the problem. Thanks! Update: After doing a powerdown and startup, my array status was "Stopped. New parity disk installed." The weird part is the size being reported under device status is going up. Currently at 382.63 TB and growing??? Using Simple Features 0.7 Update 2: Further examination of the syslog, I also get "program smartctl is using a deprecated SCSI ioctl, please convert it to SG_IO" errors Update 3: I checked all the SATA cables and the cable on the parity drive was somewhat loose. I replaced the cable and did a parity rebuild. Completed successfully with no error. I then ran the mover script to move files from the cache and finished successfully.
