  1. So my server had been in storage for the better part of 2 years. I got it out, dusted it off, replaced a power supply and powered it up. I had misplaced my thumb drive, so reinstalled fresh and added a few dockers (mostly linuxserver) and plugins. I've been having problems with Plex where I can't watch more than a few seconds of anything above 720 - nor can I transcode anything. Sometimes Plex just says "an error occured while attempting to play this video). Sometimes the Plex docker goes down, and sometimes the whole server locks up. If anyone wants plex logs, I can pull those, but what concerns me is the "Machine Check Events detected on your server" message from Fix Common Problems. I've attached diags - would you mind having a look for me please? slam-diagnostics-20220805-2112.zip
  2. I received a messages stating that Machine Check Events were detected on my server -- it also started a Read Check. It instructed me to post my diagnostics. If you guys could take a look, I'd appreciate it. Disk 5 has been disabled. I know that, and a replacement is on it's way, but I'd never had it detect Machine Check Events even when a drive goes bad, so I'm afraid it might be more. (as an aside, if I get a bigger drive, can I put it in parity while disk5 is disabled?) tower-diagnostics-20200503-0900.zip
  3. This did the trick. I also moved my parity drive off of my pci sata controller while I had the server down. Thanks again!
  4. I'll change the boards bios as soon as i get home from work. Re: disk 7 ... I hate to shatter your hopes, but no, I did not know what I was doing and did, in fact, lose some data. On the plus side, it wasn't much, but still hurt. Thanks for your response.
  5. So I had a drive go down. I replaced it as I've done in the past, and I can't get my parity to rebuild since it is running so incredibly slow. For full disclosure, I'm so over my head with this. My server has been running fine for a couple of years, but now that I'm having issues, I have no idea how to diagnose. I have seen the following in my logs Tower kernel: ata1.01: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x0 action 0x6 frozen Info: Unraid Version: 6.4.0 M/B: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. - GA-78LMT-S2P CPU: AMD FX™-8300 Eight-Core @ 3300 HVM: Disabled IOMMU: Disabled Cache: 128 kB, 2048 kB Memory: 8 GB (max. installable capacity 8 GB) Network: eth0: 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, mtu 1500 Kernel: Linux 4.14.13-unRAID x86_64 I'll be happy to run any other diagnostics and/or provide any other logs, I just don't know where to start, frankly. tower-diagnostics-20180426-1120.zip
  6. So I purchased 8 gb of ram total (maxed out), and got rid of several utility plugins. The random freezes are still occurring, though! I used Troubleshoot Mode from Fix Common Problems to grab logs. I had a random reboot at 5 something AM and another freeze up just after 9 AM on these logs. Can someone please have a look? tower-diagnostics-20170212-0857.zip syslog.txt
  7. Thanks for the quick response. I had a feeling I was low on RAM. My system seems to idle at 1.8 gig used, 1.4 gigs cached and the remainder free. I'll hop on Amazon tonight and grab some more.
  8. Please help me. I can't take anymore hard resets!!! I recently upgraded my ssd cache and went ahead and threw in a new processor at the same time. You can see my build in my signature. Ever since then, I've been plagued with problems. Most problematic and annoying, my system freezes up at least once a day. When this happens, I can't get it to respond at all... no telnet, no webgui, network shares are gone... nothing. I hooked up a monitor to the machine, and it gives me no clues or indicators. It just has the Tower: prompt. The only way to get anything is to hold the power button and reboot. This, obviously, starts a parity check. Today, I guess I caught it between the "problem" and the "freeze" because Fix Common Problems gave me a "Out of Memory" error as well as a "Call Traces" error. It's also worth noting that when my machine is doing specific tasks, namely running Par2 tasks, I can have my CPU load jump up to 33+. Needless to say, it's taxing on my system and everything slows. I"ve attached my diagnostics that I've managed to capture before rebooting. Can you please help me? 9. Thanks, guys. I think this was it. I need to do some more testing, but now my second disk is being used. Should I manually move some of my TV series to the new disk to avoid this problem again? If i get a new show, it's gonna try to put it on disk 1 since the season has already been started on that disk, no?
  10. I'm with you, I don't understand either. In my first post, I explained how I moved an entire show to a separate disk and mover still moved to the first disk. Is that show already assigned to disk 1 even though I moved it? I'm confused.
  11. What kind of settings do you use for your shares? Is your drive fulll? Have a look at SimpleFeatures.
  12. Thanks for the response, Helmonder. Stupid question... if I set CP to write directly to the diskshare, what happens when that disk fills? Am I going to manually need to change my settings to use a diferent disk? Am I not understanding fully?
  13. I'm on version 5.0-rc8a and am having a problem with my mover script. My first drive finally filled up, and the script isn't moving stuff to the second drive. Below is a log of the mover script: mover started moving Movies/ ./Movies/Friday (1995)/Friday (1995).1.mkv >f.stpog... On main.jpg, you can see that Disk 1 is full. You can also see that Disk 2 has 51.7 GB used *; that's because I manually moved some files from Disk 1. On movies-share.jpg, you can see that I have Allocation method: High-water, Min Free space: 20GB, Split Level: 1 I have my movies in Movies/Movie Name (Year)/Movie Name.ext . I want my movie file & all associated thumbs to stay on the same drive. On tv-share.jpg, you can see that I have Allocation method: High-water, Min Free space: 10GB, Split Level: 2 I have my shows in TV Shows/Show Name/Season ##/Show Name - S##E##.ext. I'd like to keep an entire season the same drive, but I don't mind if one show split across multiple drives. *The 51.7 GB on Disk 2 is a few episodes That I moved from Disk 1 using the command mv /mnt/disk1/TV\ Shows/Show Name /mnt/disk2/TV\Shows/ This Show had some files in my /mnt/cache/TV\ Shows/ directory. I figured, since it was on Disk 2, that the mover script would move the cache files to Disk 2 because of my split levels & allocation settings. I was wrong. It created a new directory on Disk 1 and it put it there. What am I doing wrong? ***** edit: I forgot to add one of the attachments.
  14. I have a share called TV Shows. I have it set to "Use cache: No" I also have a share called to_sort_tv. This is set to "Use cache: Only" The idea is to have files downloaded to to_sort_tv and then have SB post process them from that directory to where they belong in the array (e.g. TV Shows). The problem is, when SB tries to move it, it still shows up in my cache directory. The funny thing is, it also shows up in the TV Shows share within the array. These files are, evidently, linked somehow b/c when I delete the file in the cache (b/c it's already in the TV Shows share), it is deleted from TV Shows too. Am I overlooking something here? Am I doing something wrong? edit: unraid 5.0-rc8
