Hello all.
I am a newbie to unRAID, but not to I.T. as it's my day job. So long time follower, first time poster.
I have recently purchased some new hardware to replace my aging kit, and wanted to go with unRAID to replace existing 2 x NASes, and 2 x PCs, that I use for gaming and plex (amoung other things). Specs below for new hardware below.
I am having an issue creating a VM, and passing through the GPU (GTX 1060). I can get everything up an running using VNC, but the moment i passthrough the GPU, the VM settings page and the VMs go blank, and I can not get them back without rebooting the machine. i.e. going to settings > VM settings is blank and VMs tab is blank,
So far I have tried:
installed Win10 with seabios/OMVF (same result)
thought it might be a corrupted libvert.img. Removed all instances of libvert.img, and watched it create a new one in my cache. Current location: /mnt/cache/system/libvirt/libvirt.img
I have used multifunction to split the IOMMU groups up. The GTX 1060 is as below in it's own group
IOMMU group 8:[10de:1c02] 10:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GP106 [GeForce GTX 1060 3GB] (rev a1)
I add the sound component at the same time of the NVIDIA card as well as the motherboard sound (according to SpaceInvaderone video - this is a good thing to do).
Trying to restart the libvert service just hangs: root@Tower:/etc/rc.d# ./rc.libvirt restart
trying to list the domains via virsh just hangs (so I can't stop the VM)
Can't stop the array properly to reboot because libvert won't stop. unclean reboots forces parity checks.
Specs of hardware:
AMD 5700G (integrated graphics is set in BIOS, and I boot off this)
MSI Carbon Gaming mobo
2 x 1TB NVMe drives (one for cache, one for domains)
EVGA GTX 1060 - this card I will use for plex transcoding and tdarr. At the moment I just want to pass through the GPU to VM to test theories.
Sapphire AMD RX 5700 XT - this will be my gaming graphics card. Currently this is in my old PC (the one I am typing from). When i have everything working, I'll transfer it over.
Array is a selection of 4TB drives.
Diagnostics file attached.
Thanks for your help
