Falls jemand noch einen lieferbaren, günstigen, low Voltage (1.2V) 32GB RAM Stick mit 3200MHz sucht: Der Crucial CT32G4DFD832A wird, obwohl er nicht auf der Kompatibilitätsliste gelistet ist, auf Anhieb vom Board erkannt und auch automatisch auf 3200MHz gesetzt, so wie man es erwarten würde. Es ist also kein Frequenz-Tuning oder Timing-Einstellen notwendig. Ein kompletter Memtest86+ Durchlauf mit der UEFI Version 1.06 hatte keine Fehler sowohl mit den Default-UEFI-Profil, als auch mit den Energiespar-Einstellungen von ein paar Seiten zuvor gezeigt. System läuft bei mir stabil.

Soeben eine Realtek 8125B Karte mit PCIe Key A+E am kleinen WIFI PCIe Slot ausprobiert. Leider scheint am Slot nur das proprietäre CNVi von Intel anzuliegen, und leider keine vollwertigen PCIe Lanes. Somit war die LAN Karte an dieser Schnittstelle nicht funktionsfähig.

Kriterium für C8 ist natürlich noch geringe Last, da reicht gut und gerne das Unraid Webinterface aus - das ist ja bekannt dafür gleich mal ein paar Watt zu schlucken... Jo, sieht man auf deinem Graphen ziemlich deutlich. Dann lieber alt und dafür sparsam...

2.5G Realtek RTL8125B via PCIe und interne Netzwerkkarte deaktiviert: +0,6 Watt. C-State C8 nur über apt install r8125-dkms/unstable aus dem sid Repo. Ansonsten kein C8.

Deine Einstellung kann ich absolut nachvollziehen. Hätt ich grad das Board nicht bei mir auf dem Schreibtisch liegen, sondern im produktiven Einsatz, würde ich evtl. genauso denken. Mir wars nur wichtig die Info los zu werden, damit Leute wie ich dann nicht anfangen aufgrund dieser fehlenden Info neue Netzwerkkarten zu bestellen

Probiere es und dann lass n Like da Habs mit ner frischen Proxmox 8.2 Installation und mit nem frischen Unraid 6.12.6 getestet. Somit geht das sowohl mit dem 6.1.x Kernel als auch mit dem 6.5.x Kernel. Entschuldigen brauchst du dich dafür nicht - ich mein das konnt ja echt keiner ahnen - ich hab ehrlich gesagt die r8125 2.5G Netzwerkkarte schon am Tisch liegen und wollte Sie heute Abend einbauen, um dann die verbaute Netzwerkkarte abzuschalten.^^ Ich bin froh, dass es eine "Lösung" für das Board gibt, weil es bisher wirklich richtig Laune macht Das unten ist übrigends ein Bild von mir von vorhin für ca 10min: Sieht man nicht alle Tage. Hi everybody, I stumbled over a very strange solution to one of my problems and I think this can be Interesting for all RTL8111H ethernet chip users who cannot achieve lower C-states on newer versions of Unraid (or Proxmox, Debian, ...). I have tested this with my Asrock N100DC-ITX with Proxmox 8.2 (newest 6.5 Kernel) and additionally with a unraid 6.12.6 test installation. After you installed your newest debian-based distribution to your liking, you need to install either the RTL8168 driver for Unraid from the Community Application tab, or if youre not on unraid you need to install the unstable package of r8168-dkms from the Linux sid repo. After you've done this, restart your Server and use the lspci -vv | awk '/ASPM/{print $0}' RS= | grep --color -P '(^[a-z0-9:.]+|ASPM )' command to check whether ASPM is activated on the realtek network adapter again. Now comes the magic: Make sure to close all ssh connections to your server, connect a local screen to hdmi/vga/... and a keyboard and locally log in on the terminal of the machine itself. Execute powertop, switch to the "Idle stats"-View and see your higher C-States with your own eyes. I don't know why this is the case and it seems very strange, but as long as I am not connected via SSH, my C-States go till C8. When I connect via SSH, C-States instantly change to C3 max. Logout of the SSH Connection - Boom! Back in C8. BR and HF!

Hallo zusammen, ich denke ich habe etwas Interessantes herausgefunden, was ich euch nicht vorenthalten möchte. Ich habe die Erfahrung zwar mit dem Board nur mit Proxmox anstatt mit Unraid machen können, aber ich werde es im Laufe dieses Abends mit einer Unraid-Testinstallation nachprüfen. Mit aktuellem Proxmox Kernel und dem r8168-dkms aus dem unstable sid Repo bekomme ich die niedrigeren C-States wieder aktiviert. Habt ihr mal powertop über einen direkt verbundenen Bildschirm aufgemacht, während ihr NICHT über SSH mit dem Server in Verbindung wart? Traurig aber wahr - eine SSH Verbindung bringt die Kiste dazu, bei C3 Schluss zu machen, ohne offene SSH Session geht die Kiste bis C8 runter. Netzwerkkabel eingesteckt selbstverständlich. Ich werde berichten. VG EDIT: Soeben mit Unraid 6.12.6 und meinem Asrock N100DC-ITX - BIOS 1.06 bestätigt.

Hallo @Chr1sch, hast du das MSI B760I ITX Edge Wifi DDR4 Board noch, oder hast du das Board gegen das genannte ASRock getauscht? Hintergrund meiner Frage: - Ich suche aktuell ein ITX Board mit 2xM2, 4xSATA, 2.5G LAN Realtek und schön stromsparend, und da ist mir dein genanntes MSI Board aufgefallen. - Ich frage mich, ob du einen Grund hattest, auf das Asrock Board zu wechseln oder ob du einfach ein 2. Board für ein weiteres System gebraucht hast? Ich würde mich sehr über Feedbach freuen! VG!

I want to report back to give some long time running impressions on the plugin. I installed it successfully like stated in my post on 2023-11-21 and it worked out really well for several hours. Unfortunately, I got multiple freezes of the unraid vm combined with some system freezes of my hypervisor. After removing the sriov stuff from my hypervisor and unraid, everything is stable again. Because this is the unraid forum and there are clearly more components involved in my setup than running unraid on bare-metal, I am not chasing the error. I will simply wait some time and maybe try it again at another point in time (If someone is interested, just give my post a ❤️ and I will report again when the time has come...). Just wanted to tell you about the problems I found and enrich my first statement from some days ago.

I am running a Proxmox Hypervisor (Intel 12600) and passing a virtual iGPU to a virtualized Unraid (6.12.4) installation. With your recently posted plugin i was able to enable HW Transcoding with Plex inside a Docker container running on the virtualized unraid installation with the virtualized iGPU. Thank you!

Nope, Karte steckt in einem Proxmox Hypervisor, alle Maschinen sind Linux VMs. btw: hab die Trendnet Karte mittlerweile wieder zurückgeschickt und mir eine Dell OEM (Intel) X710-DA2 bei eBay für ~150€ bestellt. Nach Firmware Upgrade läuft sie seit 3 Tagen traumhaft, ASPM L1 wird ohne Script standardmäßig aktiviert und mein Server geht weiterhin bis C10 runter. Wichtig dabei ist, dass die Karte in einem PCIe Slot steckt, der am Chipsatz hängt, und nicht an der CPU direkt - sonst wird das mit dem C10 nix. Tatsächlicher Mehrverbrauch ca. 3 Watt.

Ich für meinen Teil kann deine Erkenntnisse leider nicht bestätigen. Ich habe mir besagte Trendnet Karte beim großen A gekauft (aktuell wird Revision 3.0R ausgeliefert). Chip ist der gleiche wie bei V2 (AQC100). Karte in den Server gesteckt und über besagtes Skript das ASPM auf L1 + L0s gestellt (so wie ich es deinem Post entnommen konnte). Was im Anschluss passiert ist eine Armada an Fehlermeldungen im dmesg: AER: Multiple Corrected error received. Ein Umschalten auf ASPM L1 only brachte weniger Fehlermeldungen, allerdings durchwegs noch vorhanden. Sogar mit deaktivierem ASPM tauchen die Fehlermeldungen gelegentlich am Tag im Log noch auf, was für mich ein eindeutiges Warnsignal ist, dass man die Karte nicht verwenden möchte, wenn man etwas stabiles sucht... Ein FW Upgrade 3.1.121 hat ebenfalls keine Verbesserungen gebracht Alles in allem ist die Karte für mich eine Enttäuschung, ich werde nun doch noch ein bisschen Sparen und mir die Intel X710 holen.

For all the guys looking to find out why the h*** there newly bought ASM1166 based PCIe-SATA expansion card is not even recognized in there PCs - i have a small but very helpful tip for you: There is a compatibility problem between cards with this chip working on an old firmware version and Intel 6xx chipsets. If you got hands on a device that may seem to fall under this problem, try to do the following to get rid of the old firmware and update to the new one: - install the card in a PC which detects the card correctly - google for "Asmedia ASM-2116/116x Sata 6G Controller Firmware Version NC" - download the firmware flash package - flash the firmware according to the manual included. - put the card back into your mb where you initially wanted it to run - voila. As an example: I recently bought a generic ASM1166 based card from Amazon (several sellers sell exactly this (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B08L8ZSKXW/) card with old firmware, some with the updated fw). B660 chipset mainboard said no to the card. Put it into my old Ryzen RIG, flashed the card with this generic? ASM1166 fw, now it works flawless in combination with B660 / Proxmox passthrough to Unraid VM without any errors for 3 days now. Notice for all power saving friends (e.g. @mgutt): I did a "powertop --auto-tune", which also activated several power saving features on pcie and sata links. But this is the first card, beside some power hungry LSI raid cards, where I issued that command and nothing breaks afterwards. Until now, I can highly recommend this model for expansion, expecially for working very energy-efficient. Mind the fact that the card is only using PCIe x1. Hope this may help someone in need. Cheers
