yup the machine passed memtest no issue. not sure where to go from here

ive been running mem test for 6 hours now. its on its 3/4 pass and has shown no errors. im ofc going to let it complete but assuming nothing shows up at the end it looks like memory isnt the issue. i would also think that between the system running for hours here and the hours it ran while orignally making the array that its not a hardware issues but you can attest to that better than i can. it leads me to believe that this is some sort of software/settings issue. im not sure what else to try or where to go from here. i dont have an AMD CPU so this shouldnt be a c state issue and between it crashign like this during data trasnfer and now when im trying to start dockers i dont believe this is a VLAN thing but im not sure as i just saw someone on the forums speak about that when they were having issues but tbh im not too familiar with it and i dont wanna start going down that rabbit hole if its just out of the relm of possibility. again any additional help would be greatly appreicated. sorry for a bit of rant just trying to provide as much info as posssible. also lmk if there is some way i can provide you with greater diagnostics or logs. they just seem to not show anything

i am going to try and run memtest now and see what happens. im hoping its something as simple as maybe a bad ram stick. could it possibly be a faulty USB drive?

Hello, i just built my first unraid machine about 1-2 weeks ago and was expriences issues trasnfering data. the only way i was able to transfer all my data was if i did it in portions of under 1TB or else unraid would become irresponsive and crash with the only way of bringing it back being a force shutdown and restart. i thought the problem was exlcusive to trasnfering data as the hours and hours it took to build the array i didnt have a single crash or issue. now that i have installed some dockers and try and get my plex server up and running im experiences these crashes even worse now. once i start the dockers up within a couple mins it just dies like it did before and needs a reboot. this is so frustering and i cannot seem to solve it for the life of me. i would appreciate any help i can get. attached is the syslog and diagnostics. thanks in advance mediaserver-diagnostics-20220119-1338.zip syslog

in order to run memtest i need to be in legacy and im booting in UEFI right now cuz my motherboard has a glitch where CSM wont stay and i have to flash the bios in order to fix it. i didnt bother cuz i assumed everything would be in in UEFI but if you think memtest is the next logical step ill do it. its just weird that it only crashes during SMB file transfers. it makes me believe that this is a software/driver glitch on either the old computer or the new unraid machine but i think it has something to do with the old one. i just dk what. am i able to access my share over FTP and maybe try it that way?

i havent yet. i can do that. at this point all try anything. the diagnostics didnt lead to anything did they?

i thought i already posted them. they dont show anything as you said. ive tried different copying programs aswell and the server ends up crashing at one stage or another. attached are diagnostics. mediaserver-diagnostics-20220113-2001.zip

its interesting cuz i was able to transfer my movies folder with traditional windows file explorer but tv shows keeps crashing. im thinking maybe thats because there are so many more files with TV shows cuz of each episode and maybe either computer (probs the old one) cant handle it?

ya crash was around 1:30 am i believe. did i set up syslog wrong or its just not recording this for some reason?

attached is the syslog. syslog i was doing a little troubleshooting and orignally when it crashed within a few mins i was using a multi threaded copy program. i tried to do it with traditional windows file system and while it was trasferring for a few hours it still crashed but last way longer. lmk what you think. thanks

Hello guys, I just built my new computer and I’m new to unraid. I’m trying to transfer all my old data onto the new unraid machine using a basic SMB transfer. The problem is the system locks up and crashes after 1 min or 2 of transferring filles. GUI is unresponsive, server is not pingable and requires a complete shutdown and restart to get working again. I have no idea how to fix this and hoping for any help I can get. I’m running a 12900k so that should rule out the issue I saw on here about c states as that was with AMD cpus. pool isn’t cached. Granted ik I’m trying to transfer allot of data, 20TB of movies and TV shows but I don’t understand why it completely crashes the system. Thanks in advance
