  1. Sorry, I strongly disagree with this sort of thinking and I am thankful most people also see the nonsense in thinking this way, including Lime. If Lime thought the way you do, then we would have no plugin interface at all. I highly doubt the simple features plugin directs people to the original support thread (but I admit I have not used it to verify). I'd like to see where you got the idea Joe would be required to provide support to people who did not use his original preclear script. Sent from my A510 using Tapatalk HD
  2. I don't see any license listed in the preclear script so I find it very childish that Joe is asserting this absolute control over who is alowed to use it. On the one side we have the simplefeatures guys who made the minor mistake of not asking permission before using it (minor because the script has no clause specifying how it is allowed to be used), trying to improve the current unraid experience. And on the other side we have an unraid respected oldie who sadly wants to limit the use of his contributions to what he seems worthy. He has lost some of my respect by the way he cursed
  3. An explanation from Joe L would be nice. I believe he also wrote the cache dirs script, I assume he wants that removed as well? I still see the preclear package in the download. .... Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  4. Any request against a hard drive (SMART or otherwise) will temporarily reduce throughput - though there is nothing special we are doing when you load the main page. That remains relatively unchanged against the stock GUI. I can't say I've noticed any performance impact from opening the GUI when a parity check is running though.... Yeah it is strange. With no web gui open, all the drive lights are solid on as well. As soon as I open the web gui, even just to the main page with the "Welcome to unRAID OS", the lights will start blinking sporadically indicating data read/write to the d
  5. Wow, when doing a parity check, I will get 80MB/s with no web interface open. If I open the web interface (Simplefeatures), the parity check speed drops down to about 25MB/s.
  6. Once you check the little box to the right, you can click on the button. ummmm, when you turn off confirmations those checkboxes are not there. That is the whole point of that option. I Just tested and found this bug happens to me too. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Exactly, that will work and install it correctly. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  8. No it is not. The instructions are incorrect. The new version of these plugins are supposed to go in /boot/plugins. Read through this thread and you will see this was mentioned and the reason for the change. This make absolutely no sense. I suspect people are having issues installing this plugin because the instructions in the op are still incorrect. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  9. Lol I wish that were true for me. My CPU is making ice cubes according to the Fahrenheit temperature of 32.
  10. Here is my sensors -u in case this helps. My temp display is NOT working either: k10temp-pci-00c3 Adapter: PCI adapter temp1: temp1_input: 61.500 temp1_max: 70.000 temp1_crit: 100.000 temp1_crit_hyst: 97.000 it8721-isa-0290 Adapter: ISA adapter in0: in0_input: 1.068 in0_min: 2.028 in0_max: 1.896 in0_alarm: 1.000 in1: in1_input: 2.220 in1_min: 1.824 in1_max: 0.660 in1_alarm: 1.000 in2: in2_input: 2.880 in2_min: 0.756 in2_max: 0.492 in2_alarm: 1.000 +3.3V: in3_input: 3.336 in3_min: 5.760 in3_max: 4.560 in3_alarm: 1.000 in4: in4_input: 2.220 in4_m
  11. thanks for the responses. I just noticed that the /mnt/user0 directory is missing. My shares are set to use the cache drive so I am totally confused on why this is the case.
  12. Not sure if this is an issue with this plugin. I am unable to manually start the mover script to transfer everything off my cache drive. Also, my cache drive completely filled up despite having a min free space of 5gigs set. Ill have to investigate that issue. Can anyone else confirm this issue?
  13. Version 1.0.11 downloaded a few hours ago are you sure you waited long enough? It takes quite a while to start the first time. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  14. See attached I only saw the green blocks but no temps. it's a known issue. I think they are only working with AMD processors at this point, for whatever reason. (I have the same issue as you) I have an AMD processor and it is not working on mine. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  15. You have now two different plugins running! Remove the "cache directories" plugin, it is separate and not part of SF. Ahh, thanks a lot. I did forget to remove that plugin.
  16. Thanks for the update to this plugin! One question though, why are there two cache_dirs option pages now? I have "Folder Caching" and "Cache Directories", the first says it is not running and the second says it is running. I thought I removed all of the previous settings, did I miss one somewhere?
  17. Yeah this plugin is not very good. I have a cron job that runs every 3 minutes and this thing was sending me a useless email every 3 minutes. Sent from my A510 using Tapatalk HD
  18. lol, thanks but this is already what I am doing. I now have two servers set up, one at my father's house and thought it would be easier to just integrate the one kernel module into the bzroot so I don't have to worry about it.
  19. Sorry if I created this in the wrong section. I'm trying to find out how to repackage the bzroot file after I have added something to it. I found the extraction command in the wiki under the full slackware installation section: xzcat bzroot | cpio -m -i -d -H newc --no-absolute-filenames I extracted it, and added one kernel module to it. Then to recompress it, the best I have found is the scripts here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Building_a_custom_kernel I tried using this command to recompress it from within the extracted directory: find . | cpio -o
  20. Does emhttp still crash after a parity check finishes? Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk 2
  21. I had to remove this plugin because it was crashing emhttp every time it finished a parity check. I couldn't even relaunch emhttp because it would continue to segfault. Once I removed all the simplefeatures plugins my web interface became stable again. Has anyone else experienced this on 5.0-rc10?
  22. What unraid app? Where can I get it? Sent from my A510 using Tapatalk HD
  23. Lol you are joking, right? The whole reason for cache_dirs is to prevent disc spinup. Disable cache_dirs and you will have your machine set how you want.
  24. I would just like to say thank you for including the it87 hardware monitoring module and to please keep it in future builds. I just replaced my unraid server motherboard with an ASUS C60M1-I and I am able to control my fans without much modification (just had to add "modprobe it87 force_id=0x8721" to the go file). With my previous motherboard I had to compile the module myself for each unraid version so I could control the fan based on hdd temps. This thing sits next to my TV and I want it as quiet as possible without compromising temps too much. By the way, it couldn't hurt to have most
