  1. i was tried unraid on VMWare workstation some time ago with no success.. i don't remember, what was wrong. if you are on Pro version, MS have builtin Hyper-V, but i never heard any success story with unraid. another path would be qemu kvm + virtmanager for windows, but i never tried that. but i have such combination working on my Ubuntu Desktop now..
  2. but yes, this CPU simply have not enough PCIe lanes. according to intel: up to 1x16, 2x8, 1x8 & 2x4. Supermicro can do it a bit different, then you need to read board manual.
  3. this board is now my main workstation, so, no unraid. but i checked with Linux tool, and i'm on version 2.2 now. my problem was that with GPU and 10Gbit cards in, GPU works only in first CPU slot, network card shows under Linux, but wont work. After i updated BIOS, i can now place my GPU in first or second CPU slot, both works, network card works too in any combination. you can try set your slots gen in bios. if you have PCIe 2 card, then set appropriate setting for that slot.
  4. i'm not sure, updated it last year, i cant view it in IMPI. i think i'm on 2.3. see release notes for new version here, i think it noted about youre 2021 problem..: https://www.supermicro.com/Bios/softfiles/12789/X9SCL-ii(F)_X9SCM-ii(F)_BIOS_2_3a_release_notes.pdf one GPU and one 10Gbit network card, and one USB3 card. before BIOS upgrade i can't get all three cards to work at once. once i upgraded, then no problems since.
  5. i have the same board, and struggled with very similar problem some time ago - some card wont work on some slots. BIOS update to the latest solved all problems for me - know all slots are working as expected. so, are you on latest BIOS?
  6. there is mistake, i wrote it already. you should use https
  7. let start again - show your docker log file, and then mapped ports
  8. if you have just default config with port mapping as above in pic, then WebUI should be accessible with https://IP:466
  9. looks like you misconfigured your paths. from my docker page, all paths below - it's a container side paths. Volumes required for persistant storage: home/node/meshcentral/meshcentral-files home/node/meshcentral/meshcentral-data Optional volumes: home/node/meshcentral/meshcentral-backup home/node/meshcentral/meshcentral-web
  10. and then please post your Meshcentral config file. looks like you defined https only, so webui should be available on port 466.
  11. unraid drives are identified by serial number, so, if you pass-through your disk controller to the VM, then disks will be accessible to unraid without problems. if you use SSD as ESXi datastore storage, then you cant use it directly on unraid - you can then create a new virtual drive and attach it to unraid VM. no need for new licence. if you use latest ESXi version, then you can boot your unraid VM from this USB too.
  12. Yes i'm using Stylebot extension on Chrome to adjust some font size/wight. i know, i loose some things like bolder unread items or so, but with this extension i can read forum without hurting my eyes. here are Stylebot settings i'm using now: span a span { font-size: 15px; } div h4 a { font-size: 15px; font-weight: 600; } ul li a { font-weight: 600; } nav ul li { font-weight: 600; } a.ipsType_break { font-weight: 500; } span.ipsPager_type { font-weight: 600; } li h2 a { font-weight: 600; }
  13. No, SAS3 cards have different connector - Mini SAS HD (8643 for internal )
  14. it depends. i have IBM ServeRAID M1015 - it's with LSI 2008 chipset - so PCIe 2.0 card. LSI 9207-8i is PCIe 3.0 card - so more total bandwidth available. both of these are with 8087 connectors. HP LSI 9212-4i is with SATA connectors, so you will need a special reverse breakout cable to get it to work. and it only have 4 ports.
  15. i have very similar case, so it has 6 back-planes with one SAS 8087 connector each. to start, you can add one SAS controller with two(or 4) SAS 8087 ports, and then you can connect 8(or 16) disks in total with 2(or 4) SAS cables. to expand further, add more SAS cards, or add SAS expander. see this topic with various tests:
  16. Hi, i'm using Light theme in forum for a long time, but recently bold texts appears to me too bold. why you changed that? my eyes are crying..
  17. i have a very similar ecosystem with two servers - one for like a storage, and one for like a VMs, both connected with 10Gbit network. i have proxmox on both on them, in one cluster. unraid is running on storage one (2VMs), most of the VMs is running on second one. on both servers i have setup NFS servers, and they serves storage to each other. with this setup i can easily achieve VM migration on fly (except unraid VMs of course), but other ones works as expected. i now, NFS layer adds some overhead but for my use-case it works just fine.
  18. anyone? or will i be the first who will use this motherboard with unraid?
  19. Hi, i'm trying to decide between Supermicro H11SSL-NC and H12SSL-C for my new Epyc build.. if anyone have H12SSL-C, please post your lspci output. i'm curious about Storage controller count available for device pass-through. Thanks, Uldis
  20. Thanks for that! are you ever considered new X12SSL-CT with PCIe version 4? and yes, they work with 7002 CPU's only..
  21. thanks for sharing! i'm in very similar boat - one of my servers are still running on E5 v1 cpu, so looking for some replacement. and it's mainly for storage with some dockers. how is these Epics according stability/compatibility? i have no experience with AMD at all..
  22. feel free to comment more why such decision
  23. or you can try old and working plopKExec method..
  24. i have two of these at home, tested and worked with: - Brocade Active 10Gbit DACs - fs.com Brocade 10G-SFPP-LR as i have Brocade card in my PC - fs.com Cisco GLC-TA Compatible 10/100/1000BASE-T SFP SGMII Copper RJ-45 100m Transceiver Module - to connect more Ethernet cable if needed - fs.com Ubiquiti UF-SM-10G Compatible 10GBASE-LR SFP+ 1310nm 10km DOM Transceiver Module to interconnect both Mikrotik CRS305 with fs.com LC-LC UPC Duplex Single Mode Fibre Patch cable.
