  1. what's a model of the board? a attach a screenshot please.
  2. thanks for the detailed link, i think it should be sticky somewhere cos more and more users are using these cards and the questions are almost the same with every new user.. and with old ones too if you wanna prepare new card after years
  3. you need to switch to UEFI mode to continue. please search forums for " ERROR: Failed to initialize PAL " - there are lot of threads about this problem. when i flashed mine cards years ago, i had this message too. switched to UEFI, and then no probs.
  4. i had a similar situation when my x9SCM-iif with 4 PCIe slots are full of cards.. you have some options IMHO: - replace your board with X9SCM-iif - you will get one additional slot - get expander - but you have so many hdd, if you add expander, may be you will see some performance degrade when all disks are up(parity check) but it depends how you connect it. - get new dual cpu board - this was my route.. see my sig for model numbers - got it all used from ebay.. now i have 7 PCIe slots + one SAS 2008 built-in controller. on negative side of this route is power usage - dual CPU uses much more power, generates much more heat..
  5. I have two M1015 Cards, and it works with my 4TB units. so i think it will work with 5TB too.
  6. see here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=27765.0 or search google for "plex wd tv dlna profile"
  7. ouch.. may be you can get one for testing and return it back then?
  8. i have a great experience with Plex docker and WDTV Live through DLNA.. i was a bit hard to set it up, cos you need to find a correct WDTV Live profile for Plex to avoid Transcoding where it's not needed. when i setup Plex for the first time, and watched movie on WDTV Live, Plex trasncoding used all available CPU (4 Cores on Xeon CPU) and therefore stuttering accoutered.. when i found a correct WDTV Live profile then no more transcode and movies are played just fine.
  9. if you connect two 2.5" hdd, then SataII will work ok i think. with two SSD it will be limited if you use them at the same time.. just did a quick research and found only one similar item available here: http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=eng/product_a1_1_4&lv0=3&lv1=81&no=278 if someone have another experience, please post a model..
  10. thanks for sharing i'm wondering about motherboards specs - just looked at both your and mine and it states 6 sata ports and support of 6 sata hdd. if i have all 6 slots connected, and wanna replace one connection with KingWin, who knows will it work or not.. and looks like KingWin is not avalable here in Europe, i will look for something similar.
  11. Steven, may be you can test this for me: if you connect this device to your motherboard through backplane, and device is configured as JBOD, your ESXI see both HHDs as separate drives?
  12. PCI NIC in a working at 1000mbit. Makes me wary of the condition of the rest of the board try to boot other OS from livecd(Ubuntu for example) to double check
  13. if your Flash contains the same version of unRAID as VMDK, then you should just change boot order in bios and unRAID will boot just fine with all settings preserved. after, you can change it back to esxi if needed..
  14. Is there any documentation on how this is done with regard to UPS's attached to unRAID guest VMs? i'm connected my APC unit to Windows VM, but this is similar to unRAID i think. first, i'm telneting to unRAID and power it down with sbin/powerdown then wait some time (1minute for me) and ssh to esxi host and excute "/sbin/shutdown.sh && /sbin/poweroff" look at unRAID /etc/apcupsd/doshutdown you can ssh from here to esxi host and execute command above.. if you have VMWare tools installed on unRAID, esxi will do clean shutdown i think.. (not tried yet..)
  15. ok, i just tested it on my test server (X9SCM-iif board) with 6.1 final and no change for me - issue are still there.. for me, a quickest workaround is to add second USB device - flash or UPS and then no issues..
  16. no links, but i have a great success with IBM M1015 cross-flashed to IT mode..
  17. your mobo have 14 ports already, so if you add one 8 port card, then 22 in total. are this enough? i have great experience with IBM 1015 flashed to IT mode.. you can get then used from ebay too.
  18. How so? You can get to the subforums in a single click (you do not need to go into Plugins (v6) to get to either of the two subforums). We don't want to do this because this is also just a temporary measure as we transition folks from 6.0 to 6.1. ok, i will try to explain my idea better (sorry, english is not my native..). i see two things there: - when you are on root of the forum, you see what is the last topic of every forum, but you wont see this with subforum - when you click on "new" icon on the root forum, you jump directly to that topic's last unread post. when you see "new" on subforum, you first must click inside and then do second click to jump to last post of particular topic.. i can live with that no probs, but i think it will be a long way to move all topics form 6.0 to 6.1, some will stay for 6.0 forever...
  19. how about using two root level items instead of two subforums? this would reduce mouse click count
  20. Here you go, please correct me if needed: - first i created a new file avahi.conf (name is not important) in /etc/rsyslog.d with one line in it: :syslogtag, contains, "avahi-daemon" ~ - then restart rsyslogd by /etc/rc.d/rc.rsyslogd restart and no more messages in syslog from avahi daemon. as side note, a warning is generated for deprecated rsyslog option "~". if someone can correct me how to use this filter with newer "stop" directive, just let me know
  21. not an option for me to upgrade. but fixed it by myself, created rsyslog filter, found some examples on internet, not sure it's a correct way but no more tons of messages..
  22. sorry for asking second time, but are there any workarounds for existing 6.0 version to suppress those messages from syslog?
  23. have you connected more USB devices or this single one? looks something similar to esxi USB dropouts - when i add second USB device to unRAID, no more dropouts to me..
  24. as i read somewhere on the net "error -110" usually means too much power for this USB - USB2 drive plugged in USB3 slot or similar..
