  1. Hi Everyone, I built a New Tower with the latest version of UnRaid, Love the new features and set to upgrade my other 3x Towers.

After going through an upgrade from 6.8.3 6.9.2 and 6.9.2 to 6.12.6 for all Towers with no problems with my 3x Towers.

Fix Common Problems picked up Multiple Keys again on 1 Tower, I pretty much just left the Towers alone, as they are so reliable..

I did have a USB stick fail, probably 2017 by the date of the newer key below.

    Pro1.key dated 2010.04.07

    Pro.key dated 2017.10.18

Should I just delete the 2010 dated file Key? The Pro1.key File.

    Much Appreciated

  2. Hi Everyone, been a while since I have had a problem, appreciate any help.

My motherboard failed, replaced with Aus Z170 Pro Gaming and installed 2x LSI 9200 8e and 1x LSI 9200 8i controllers from original setup.

All been flashed many years ago to 20.00.07.00-IT

    Message I am getting is

Adapter configuration may have changed, reconfiguration is suggested.

So I Ctr C into the configuration tool.

What setting should the Boot support be?

    Enabled BIOS and OS?

    Enabled BIOS only?

    Enabled OS only?

    Disabled?

All drives are correctly identified for all 3x 9200's

When I boot to UnRaid I do see all the drives, 24 of them, 2x Parity and 22 data drives, I have 1x red X which was from before the motherboard failure.

Just want to be sure I do not have an issue if I replace the drive and rebuild from parity.

I can fire up the UnRaid and get Diagnostics if needed, let me know.

    Much appreciated

    Steve

  3. Thanks to you both, and who moved the thread.

Will remove the hard drives and wrap them individually.

Will be sure to take a snap shot of the drive order and serial number before doing so. And a backup of the USB stick.

    Much appreciated

  4. Hi Everyone, Not sure where to ask, but thought this was the best place to ask. If not, please move.

I am moving from Switzerland to UK. Shipping company.
Would you remove the hard drives from the Tower's and wrap them individually?
Or keep them mounted in each Tower/NAS, In hard drive trays?

    Tower1 is 6 hard drives, 10Tb

    Tower2 is 24 hard drives, 78Tb

    Tower3 is 15 hard drives, 100Tb

I also have couple of Qnap and Netgear NAS, about another 132Tb. ..................Yeah, I love my TV and Blu-Ray's.

    Appreciate your comments and advice.

    Cheers

    Steve

  5. Finished the Read-Check with no errors.

Here is the Extended Smart Test for Disk 14.

Disk 15 would not go past 10% after 10mins, so I stopped the test. So no report for Disk 15.

Just powered down and checked the sata and power connectors.

Found no problems other than Disk 14 and 15 were very old drives, Seagate Enterprise Capacity v5 Hard drive from 2015.

So I removed them from the array. New Config, set all the disks individually as I wrote them down.
    Now doing a Parity rebuild.

Will buy some new 8Tb drives and install next week.

Much appreciated the help itimpi, You have helped me learn a little more about UnRaid.

  6. Thanks itimpi,

I followed your steps, steps 1, 2 and 3 no worries.

Step 4, went into maintenance mode, did the file system check, that ran through. this is from disk 14

    Phase 1 - find and verify superblock... Phase 2 - using internal log - zero log... - scan filesystem freespace and inode maps... sb_fdblocks 1939163355, counted 1952984849 - found root inode chunk Phase 3 - for each AG... - scan (but don't clear) agi unlinked lists... - process known inodes and perform inode discovery... - agno = 0 - agno = 1 - agno = 2 - agno = 3 - agno = 4 - agno = 5 - agno = 6 - agno = 7 - process newly discovered inodes... Phase 4 - check for duplicate blocks... - setting up duplicate extent list... - check for inodes claiming duplicate blocks... - agno = 0 - agno = 1 - agno = 2 - agno = 3 - agno = 4 - agno = 7 - agno = 6 - agno = 5 No modify flag set, skipping phase 5 Phase 6 - check inode connectivity... - traversing filesystem ... - traversal finished ... - moving disconnected inodes to lost+found ... Phase 7 - verify link counts... No modify flag set, skipping filesystem flush and exiting.

I could not start correcting parity check, only a Check will start Read-Check of all array disks.

Not sure what to do now,

    Much appreciated.

  7. Hi Everyone, Had a power failure, after my Tower3 was powered up, I have 2x drives with a red X.

My other 2x Towers had no issues.

I have been rebuilding my workshop, so the UPS was not protecting the Towers unfortunately.

Both 8Tb drives have no data, They are about 4 months old approx.

What is the next step to take?

Last parity check was about 30 days ago, added lots of data to other disks, but not 14 and 15 which have the red X's.

    Appreciate any advice and help.

    Thanks

    Steve

  8. No, I reset the modem yesterday, today just can not stay connected.
Changed cables and network switch also.
Moved Tower to another room and same problem.

    Thanks for looking and suggestions

This Tower3 has been online for a very long time with no issues, strange my other 2x Towers were not effected, running the same UnRaid version
