Zero byte size files
That would make sense. Looks like I've got some transferring of back up files to do. Thanks for your insight mate

Zero byte size files
Yeah was afraid of that. I have separate back ups for most of it so its not a complete loss. It seemed to go thru almost instantly. Even excel, word ect files were changed. Thanks guys

Zero byte size files
Thanks, I'll give it a try. If I try to rebuild the drives from the parity, will that get them back like they were or just rebuild them like they are now?

Zero byte size files
Not 100% sure this is an Unraid problem but it is affecting the server as well so I'm starting here. ALL the files (MP4,MKV,MP3,JPEG ect) on both the unraid server and my PC and an external HDD on the PC have been rendered down to 0 byte size. If I change to be able to view hidden files on any of the places mentioned, I find a 'sister' file for everything but with a weird file type extension. eg. W35IQJ0 File (.w35iqj0) If I try to open a video file of this type (VLC Player) it plays fine and dandy. I had been watching some content on Plex and had gone away for half hour or so and then nothing would play and the only thing that MAY have happened in that time was a weird little file that showed up the my "completed downloads" folder as a shortcut so I deleted it before I realised any of this other had happened so I'm wondering if I may have picked up a maleware bug of some sort but I've scanned it a few times and can't find anything. Like I said earlier, I have a feeling this may be an issue with the PC. but I dont know where to start fixing the 16 odd TB of files on the server. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cache drive issues
I think I'll try for a new psu. All the other connections are reasonably new (couple of months) and the psu is getting on a bit. Thanks again

Cache drive issues
Would this have to do with the power/connection problems? Its a brand new drive

Cache drive issues
Please standby for an epic....A few weeks ago I started having issues with the docker stopping working. A quick stop and restart fixed it for a while , but then the cache drive started being lost. Stop and restart a few times and everything fine again for a while. Then that stopped working, ok, cache drive is stuffed so I'll replace it and the cables while I'm at it. Everything worked fine for a couple of hours and then its at it again. The docker is running but not properly (Tv side of Plex isn't showing up ect) I've attached the diags for what they are worth, not sure if they'll point out the problem or not. Any help appreciated theark-diagnostics-20231103-1742.zip

really slow parity rebuild
Thanks, I'll give it a try at the weekend, brain doesn't fire on all 8 cylinders thru the week. I have taken the extender out of the mix and just running out of the controller it self and it seems to be running fine and dandy atm

really slow parity rebuild
Ok so I'm back with more stupid questions. I'm getting a heap of CRC error counts on some of the drives, is it possible that the SAS expander card isn't getting enough power out of the PCi-e slot to power the drives properly? There is only 4 out of the 6 drives throwing errors and I thought it might be a cable problem to start but all of the problem drives are sharing a cable with one of the drives which seem ok. The errors only seem to happen when read/writes are happening but I'm guessing this is normal. If this is possible can I just plug a molex connector into the card while its mounted in the PCi slot or do I need to remove it first? Basic noob questions I know but just don't seem to be able to get a win Thanks theark-diagnostics-20230403-0640.zip
