I am booting with UEFI, Macs don't really play very nice with Legacy BIOS. My Mac Pro only has native USB2 ports and all of my flash drives that I have tried are USB2. The MacBook Pro which worked with all of the drives that I have tested only has USB3 ports. I have both manually and used the creation tool on macOS, Linux, and Windows, they all will successfully boot the MacBook Pro but not my Mac Pro.

Hello all, I have heard many good things about Unraid over the years and figured I would give it a spin on my upgraded 2010 Mac Pro (MacPro5,1) that I use as a home server. I loaded a fresh 6.9.2 trial (latest stable release as of time of writing) on a USB and attempted to start it up. The USB shows up in the boot picker, and after a few seconds it starts booting. However shortly afterwards it always kernel panics with the same message (which I have attached a jpeg of) about not being able to access the root device. After doing some searching on the forum, I have seen that others in the past have run into this issue and I have tried the suggested solutions. I saw mentions of low ram potentially causing the issue, (my computer has 64GB so can rule that out) adding root=sda to the syslinux.cfg, (tried with no change, in fact you can see it is trying to access sda as root in the screenshot) and remaking/trying a different flash drive (3 different flash drives resulted in the same error). I also put the flash drive in an older MacBook Pro I had laying around with no changes to the configuration and it booted up first try multiple times. That makes it seem to me like the flash drive cannot be the issue. Maybe I am missing something simple but I cannot think of anything else to try. The Mac Pro in question boots macOS up just fine and I have never had other issues with crashing with it so I don't suspect it is the problem unless there is some kind of Apple specific trickery going on behind the scenes that is tripping unraid up.
