  1. Crazy day. After trying f12, it went to scanning drives. Got flustered. Walked away and 20 minutes later it booted up. lol. Thanks for listening to me whine!
  2. Hmm, well I'll be. Jonathon, you're right. I just left the scan go on for several minutes and eventually it DID get to bios after I held down the DELETE key on boot up. At least I go in bios. Turns out USB was not the priority. Still not getting past the first two 2gb drives and into unRAID but that's likely a different issue. Thanks!
  3. Still no luck. It always goes to scan drives and only make it through two of the four until it locks up and stays there. Im sure all I need to do is get into bios! tried holding down all buttons: tab, f2, f9, f12, delete. Its like the keyboard strokes are not even registering until the drive scans starts. I don't hear the beep of the keep board until after scan. maybe something else is wrong. The board screen pops up for just over ONE second.
  4. Thanks Jonathon. Well the keyboard DOES turn on fast enough now. I took the unraid server off the KVM and plugged a monitor and keyboard directly into it. F2 is indeed for bios, thanks for that. , but it still clicks by so fast and goes right into some channel scanning mode (for hard drives it looks like). not sure what I an do to get it to go or stay in bios mode. im sure im doing something stupid wrong lol. It appears when I hit TAB and delete, or some combo thereof, it does go to a different screen which is the typical screen one sees when a PC is booting up but then off to the scan type menu for drives. I will keep playing with it! Hopefully I will eventually hit the right buttons lol.
  5. What is the trick if my bios screen will not stay up long enough for me to change it? IE, hit F12. Motherboard screen stays up about 2 seconds and I don't think the keyboard is recognized for a few more seconds (I don't hear the beep of hitting the f12 will after the main motherboard screen goes away). Im assuming I cant boot up unraid because my bios has changed and not booting from USB.
  6. Sweet. Baby steps, lol. Quick search and I just enter ROOT with no password. Im reading there is no a web gui. time to learn that! (saw a link to a tutorial, yay!) Man and I rusty on this after being away a year or two. Crazy I know. Miss it! edit. DUH! that gui! got it. Been there, lol.
  7. See? I told you hero's were here. OK, it worked, booted from USB ZIP and it booted right up. now, to find my freaking password lol. THANK YOU! Oh, Im SURE I'll be back! LOL
  8. Oh, couple clues. When I first turned it on a couple hours ago, I didn't have the thumbdrive in it! After finding it, I just powered down the server with the switch, put the thumb in and that's where I am now, stuck. When I booted earlier with no thumb, it DID find all four drives and took me to "AMD Data Change...Update New Data to DMI!". hard shut down manually from there. Hopefully that helps in determining how bad I have mucked things up!
  9. not sure where to start or what to search! Havent touched server in well over a year, maybe two. now that my house is done, Ive got the racks moved and all set up. Fired up the unRaid server and its stuck on scanning channels in the bios start up. its found two the four 2tb drives and its still stuck there. I have NO Idea what to do first, lol. Any ideas? Yall are good at being hero's!
