re-enabling a drive
Noting that for later, just in case Thanks - I guess I felt I shouldn't have to 'rebuild' a drive if I had only popped it out literally 2 seconds... like I wanted to just say "I know it's as it should be, so just enable it!". But I'll follow the instructions for rebuilding...

re-enabling a drive
Accidentally removed the wrong (hot swap) drive. Now it's disabled. Nothing wrong with it, it hasn't changed, how do I just enabled it? It's a shame that broken links aren't handled here every time I search for something I find the answer I need, and it just says 'read this: https://wiki.unraid.net/Troubleshooting#Re-enable_the_drive ' etc etc. And the links don't work! Quite frustrating.

SSL
Safari lets me override the cert, where Chrome and Opera wouldn't (I'm sure this used to be the other way around!). Still, I'm on the interface again now, but still no letsencrypt option in 'identification'......

SSL
Been following Spaceinvader one's excellent videos. Seems I had to enabled SSL to use encryption / unbalance etc. Didn't have the option to use letsencrypt in 'identification', so I went looking and found 'use ssl' in management access. Enabled that, and now I'm kind of locked out as it will only use SSL, but it doesn't like the certificate. What should I do?

[Plugin] CA User Scripts
Trying to get a script working. It seems to be ignoring stuff that works if I do it manually. I thought at first it was ignoring back ticks, but it's not that. Take this section: SOURCE=https://<my database url including auth> echo `date` # works fine SRC_DBS=`curl -s -X GET $SOURCE/_all_dbs | sed 's/\[//;s/\]//;s/"_[a-z]*"//g;s/[,\"]/ /g'` # works elsewhere echo "$SRC_DBS" # nada :( EDIT: Sussed the cause, at least. It doesn't like the SSL cert. It is valid, so I guess it must be that the local CAs need updating? Adding `-k` to the curl statement sorts it, for now...

I've found loads of references to enabling the setting `enable additional search results from dockerhub`, but it's not where any of the posts say it is, nor the YouTube videos Posting what I see - in one of the videos it shows it as the 4th option here, but that's not what I have. How do I find this setting?

Is the docker container no longer updated - and / or should we be using a VM instead, by the looks of a post further up?

New disks in array - unassigned
Ah, maybe still clearing, according to the array operations tab. Idea - this could show on the dashboard ideally.

Different sized cache disks
(BTW I have a 128GB and a 240GB, and the dashboard tells me I have 184GB cache... so I don't really get that!

Different sized cache disks
That sounds like the best option. Where are the settings for checking this? I can't find them for some reason?
-
Different sized cache disks
My two SSDs I'm using as cache are mismatched sizes. I *think* from what I've read this means that they aren't protected, is that right? Is the only way (apart from a backup script) to have them the same size in an array, or does btrfs do something that I don't understand?

Can't get past MPT2BIOS
Ok, re-downloaded and flashed, now boots fine. But I can't access the web interface. Everything I've read seems to suggest it should respond on port 80, but nothing. IP shows on console correctly IP pings fine from my mac I can log on to the console and ping my mac No obvious errors on the console Tried normal boot and gui mode boot What gives? EDIT - man, every time I say something's not working, it starts working. Can access the interface now, but it seems only if I boot in GUI mode. Odd.

Can't get past MPT2BIOS
If it makes a difference, I created the USB manually and used the make_bootable_mac script. I went through a whole draw full of USB flashdrives, none were recognisable by the unraid flash creator

Can't get past MPT2BIOS
Ok my real issue now seems to be Unraid starting: `Loading /bzimage... failed: No such file or directory

Can't get past MPT2BIOS
Making slow progress, managed to get as far as disabling at boot in the bios, but man it's slow. Hopefully I won't have to go into it too often!

Can't get past MPT2BIOS
New build, with this SAS2008 controller freshly installed: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01M2AC40Y/ (which may or may not need flashing, I know not). I can't get past the stoopid MPT2 BIOS, which takes over even before the system BIOS gets a look in. Then MPT2 sits there initializing forever. Occasionally it flashes up "CTRL+C to enter setup" for a microsecond, and then goes back to either initializing again, or trying to "spin up boot drive". After about an hour I managed to hit CTRL+C at just the right time. Then it sits there "invoking SAS configuration utility", again for ages. Everything seems to take, like 20 minutes. Even just reading the settings I can't seem to boot anything with the SAS card in it, so I can't even try my hand at flashing the thing. Any suggestions? Is there a way of telling it not to run the NPT2 BIOS at startup?

SAS/SATA controller
Last question (sorry, this is getting spammy, I'm getting desperate) Any good? https://www.amazon.co.uk/BEYIMEI-Express-Controller-Expansion-Non-Raid/dp/B098Q2NL4H/

SAS/SATA controller
Ah great, guessing that last one is the same then? How easy is flashing the card?

SAS/SATA controller
Will this work? It says 'RAID' in the description, but it also says that it uses SAS3008 which is a compatible chipset according to other posts I've seen? Confused! https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-cra3338-rev-10-12gb-s-sas-raid-card-pcie-30-x8-with-2x-mini-sas-hd-sff8643-for-upto-8x-sas

Ok, thanks. What about the physical connectivity - any way of using them in a hotswap bay?
