  1. I'm trying to convert my HEVC main 10 mkv files to HEVC main mkv files while making use of qsv. I've tried using unmanic but it both Doesn't have a good way of only selecting HEVC main 10 files (and not for example an h264 file) Refuses to do HEVC main 10 HEVC main using the "Video Encoder H265/HEVC - hevc_qsv (Intel)" plugin because it already is in h265 (or atleast for me it didn't find a task with "rescan library now") I wouldn't really mind using FFmpeg on command line but it's very overwhelming in settings and the fact that flags aren't consistent across different file formats and/ore conversion methods makes this kind of a nightmare for me. Plus the very obvious problem that Unraid has no nice way of using FFmpeg commands. Is there any way to do this seemingly very simple task without jumping through massive hoops? My system runs on a j3455m I have confirmed it should be able to use qsv for both the decoding and encoding part and obviously it's gonna take ages using software transcoding Haven't found a good alterative for FFmpeg in command line, but I've found my issue with FFmpeg for some reason assuming -c:v hevc_qsv means it should transcode in 10bit and that's why it was not working. So rn I'm using FFmpeg within unmanic like this ffmpeg -hwaccel qsv -i in.mkv -c:v hevc_qsc -pix_fmt yuv420p -preset slow -rc vbr out.mkv Stil would prefer a more automated way to do this but it works I guess
  2. I am using an app password and have mailserver set as smtp.gmail.com. I've both tried with SSL(port 465) and STARTTLS(port 587). Both give me an "Authorization failed" within 3 seconds using test. Syslog just shows a lot of Authorization failed (534 5.7.9 https://support.google.com/mail/?p=WebLoginRequired ________ - gsmtp) And I've tried everything on that link and more. I can confirm that I'm using the correct app passwords because I can see "Last used" being updated at https://myaccount.google.com/u/2/apppasswords I honestly don't know what I could be forgetting I've tried using "Gmail" and "Gmail with TLS" presets and also tried using custom and filling in the information from https://support.google.com/mail/?p=WebLoginRequired Okay I managed to fix it while typing but I'm still gonna upload for anyone having the same problem. I tried both having username set as [email protected] and myname But apparently it has to be myname@ This wasn't previously like that and it honestly is very weird but yeah it's google Final settings ended being up like this: the img for anyone blind states Preset: Custom Sending email address: [email protected] Mail server: smtp.gmail.com Mail server port: 587 Use SSL/TLS: yes Use STARTTLS: yes Define a TLS certificate: No Authentication method: Login Username: yourname@
  3. No I meant point 3 on my list. "Capable of spin down" I'll edit my question to make it more clear for future readers I don't really care about PCIe 3 because my CPU and motherboard can't handle that anyways. But talking about PCIe on the H310 would the card still work the same in a PCIe 2 x4 slot on PCIe 2 x1 mode? I know it would reduce the bandwidth to 500MB/s but that's not really a big issue for me. Just wondering if these server parts require their actual spec of PCIe lanes (aka PCIe 2 x8) or can just run on less of them like most cards.
  4. I'm deciding between buying an ASM1166 card and a Dell Perc H310 SAS HBA I'm planning on using this motherboard CPU combo and 6 individual 1TB drive of which 2 connected to mobo. My main points of concern are these 4: Easy of instalment Power consumption Capable of spin down Compatibility with PCIe 2x1 in PCIe 2x4 pinned slot (sized PCIe x16). If one of the cards is not capable of spin down it's already a no no I've looked up some stats but don't know how accurate they're Power consumption: ASM1160: 2W H310: 6W Max drives: ASM11620: 6 H310: 8 Cost: ASM11620: 28.81€ H310: 32€ + 10€ per 4 drive cable so 42€ Easy of install: ASM11620: should be plug and play H310: I need to flash some bios Can someone confirm what I found and/or add missing data. Especially spin down for ASM1166 and point PCIe compatibility for both, couldn't find a good source on the last one. And if someone has personal experience with either ASM1166 or H310 could they give me a short review. In general I've heard that using a SAS HBA is better than using a PCIe SATA controller but is it worth the extra 14€ plus for me 7€ extra annual power cost? If those numbers are even accurate for power.
