  1. Hi Community, My UNRAID has been stopped for almost 1.5 months and I finally put it on the rack. Yeah!!! Then I found Disk 6 stays "Not installed". I unplug and plug the disk back couple times and no success:( I tested the disk on my PC and it looks "OK" (Power on and detected). What should I do now? Should I run the CHECK for Parity-Check or Disk-Clean? Thanks,
  2. I have the following warning, but I put the appdata share to a SSD drive. Do I really need to put it to cache? Can I simply ignore this warning? If I should put appdata to cache, should I follow this post? Warning message: If the appdata share is not set to be cache-only, then the mover program will cause your docker applications to become inoperable when it runs (6.1.x). Under 6.2+, this setting should not affect the operation of the application, but it will definitely impact significantly the performance of the application. Fix it via APPDATA SETTINGS.
  3. Hi community, I have 3 Disks with SMART error and I want to ask your folks opinions before I do anything to them. One 16TB Drive and it has 16 Reallocated sector count, and it is around 38~50 degree. I want to keep this disk. Any suggestion? One 4TB Drive and it has 135 Reported uncorrect. Can I keep it or just dump it? One 4TB Drive and it has 7664 Reallocated sector count, plus 1003 Reported uncorrect. I think I should dump this ASAP. SMART is attached. Thanks everyone, -Ming nas-smart-20220729-1101.zip
  4. Hi everyone, I have an old PC and it only has 6 SATA ports. On other hand, I have 12 hard drives (SSD and HDD from old desktops and laptops). I am looking for something like PCIE card to SATA ports. So I can add more hard drives to the UNRAID build. Currently, I am using this Build: Case: Rosewill RSV-L4412U 4U Server Chassis Rackmount Case. CPU: 7400 GPU: 1050ti Motherboard: PRIME B250-PLUS Any PCIE to SATA card recommended? This mother board has M2 slots. Should I get a M2 to SATA? Thanks, -Ming
  5. Yes, I do. My idea plan is: One 16 TB HDD drive use as Parity One 16 TB HDD drive use as disk 1 Rest (3 * 2~4TB old) HDD drives use as other disks Buy one (256~512GB) SSD drives use as cache. The problem is the current two 16 TB HDD drives stored data using QNAP and my QNAP NAS is dead:( So I need to transfer those data to somewhere, and free up these two 16 TB HDD drives to build my ideal Unraid. I am new to Unread, so I am learning how to use it by watching YouTube. Also, looking for some suggestion and recommendation from the community.
  6. I am new Unraid user. After looking at some Youtube videos, I feel Unraid is the best option for me and decide to move from QNAP to Unraid I used an old PC and old HDD (some may broken). I am trying to reuse them if possible. I managed to setup one 4TB HDD as parity and one 2TB HDD as disk1. Then I am trying to add two more 4TB HDD. The START button disable and message "You may not add new disk(s) and also remove existing disk(s)." Does this mean these two 4TB HDD are totally fail disks and I should just throw it away? Solution(Edit): I erase the existing array and start from scratch. I put one 4TB HDD as parity and all other drives as disks. This time works perfectly for me. Now I have 9TB free space. Diagnostics is attached. I am planning to move the QNAP HDD & Data to Unraid. The QNAP machine is broken, but the disks are good.
