For anyone reading this, here's an update: I did all my backups on unraid using Krusader, to copy all my photos and videos to a second drive. Did the same for the Backups folder (this contains the database dumps Immich does automatically every night). Then, I stopped Immich and PostgreSQL, changed the repository to what I wrote above. Hit apply, and let it do its thing. Once it restarted, I waited until it showed (healthy) on the docker page. I then checked Immich 1.143.1 worked with the new PostgreSQL..it did. So then I stopped Immich docker, and hit update. Let it do its thing. Once finished, I watched the logs and saw it was migrating and doing stuff. Once it finished (about 5 minutes) I opened Immich and it works. Super easy. Thanks for your help Nodiaque. I didn't end up doing much other than what I wrote in my previous posts, so very straight forward!

So if I want to continue using the existing installation of the Immich docker and PostgreSQL, can I do as I wrote? replace the existing repository field on PostgreSQL_Immich container, to ghcr.io/immich-app/postgres:16-vectorchord0.4.3-pgvectors0.3.0 Matching both the pg16 and the 0.3.0 pgvecto.rs version. ?

When you say trigger the update in Immich, do you mean in Unraid under the docker page? I don't see the option Inside the immich UI to update the version? I'm so lost. If I want to keep the same container Immich, should I first try and replace the repository of the PostgreSQL, and then see if it works with my existing Immich 1.143.1 version?

Ok, do you recommend moving to the official docker? Is the guide you're talking about this one: https://rorar.github.io/immich-unraid-manual/setup-immich-server/ I'm not seeing anything about updating from previous versions to V3. This is what I was thinking of doing to upgrade: With everything running, open unRAID terminal and run a PostgreSQL dump:

Hello, hopefully this is the right area of the forum to ask, I am running Immich container v1.143.1 and need to update to v3.0.3. Currently its setup using Immich container (ghcr.io/imagegenius/immich), and using the PostgreSQL (tensorchord/pgvecto-rs:pg16-v0.3.0) Is there a guide I can follow to safely upgrade? Thanks!

MHQJRH PCI Express SATA 3.0 Controller Card Not asm anything as far as I can tell. So you should be ok. Let me know if you get it up and running ok, as it seems everyone is all about the LSI cards over the ASM cards.

Thank you, everything came back up perfectly as you suggested. On a side note, is there an LCI card or Marvell card you recommend for my case use? There's so many different models, all around the same price I don't know what to pick...

Aha ok I think I understand. And I shouldn't lose any data right? Since it's a disk that wasn't being used anyways?

Ok, so if I'm reading this correct, I just need to do a New Config in Tools, and preserve all settings (array & pool slots), this should put me back where I was pre stopping the array?

ok, understood. It would seem my only option is to do the New Config and start the array with the 'missing' drive. I just don't know if this will cause me to lose everything or not? I have downloaded the diagnostics folder so can post whatever is needed to help figure out this mess

Hi Veah, what do you mean it will want the parity to build? I don't use a parity drive.

Hey everyone, My misfortune started a week ago when I piurchased a new drive for unraid. I used a no name pci sata card to add it, and initially I was able to add it to the array. Shortly after, i noticed that it was throwing errors. I never assigned any shares to it, as I was waiting to make sure the drive worked before starting to load data onto it. People suggested I get an LCI card instead, as those pci sata cards don't work well. So since I was going to remove the drive while I waited for the LCI card to show up, I stopped the array, and removed the drive from the array, and then proceeded to clear it (on the same page of unraid). I then realized that I can't start my array again with the other drives, as it's saying that disk is missing and array cant start because of it. So now I'm stuck and don't know what to do, as I would like to not lose any data on the other drives that are untouched. What should I do? Thanks for your help 🫠
