  1. Hi Boof, thanks for the response...Funnily enough, i looked for threads for this issue (clearly not very well), hence this new one made. As it seems to be a recognised issue with Tom, i look forward to the fix in 5 "final"... Interestingly though you mention that by restarting samba cleared your issue. How do you go about doing that? I'd rebooted my server to no avail, is there something specific i should be doing? cheers
  2. Hopefully this is still a bug report issue thread and not simply a venting thread?! Anyway, I've recently moved from 12a to this 16c and I've noticed that plex does not scan in new files using its turbo method. The files are added if I do a deep scan, but sickbeard uses turbo and so my automation is broken.
  3. All of a sudden plex is now not picking up new files added to my library and it would appear its to do with their turbo scan using timestamps as the marker to see if new files have been added to their respective folders. Anyone come up with a solution for this? Manually I can do a deep scan to pick up the files, but this is a pain.
  4. What timeframe are you seeing it at? And at what state are all your drives in? I've not noticed any slowdown, but then my server is pretty active and never are all my drives spun down at once.
  5. Aha, blinking works...dimmed is the issue, not on the server to look at the files at the moment but I would guess there is no .gif for that animation. Previously I only looked for blinking.
  6. updated to rc3 via the instructions on github, but the gif from a spundown disk isn't showing properly. see attached. bug perhaps?, i'll try redownloading and installing again to see if that clears it, but i can see the .gif file is there and i've tried a couple of browsers (safari latest, firefox latest) EDIT* redownload, reinstall nor reboot has fixed the issue.
  7. have i gone blind, or has the function to schedule a parity check been removed from webgui? i use to have it run once a week. If so, please bring it back That, and system temps.
  8. No speed bump for me, but I'm pleased to see that utorrent now no longer keeps the parity drive awake, writing to it whilst seeding.
  9. This is surely why any business needs various teams. One man cannot do everything all the time! Especially not something this complex and diverse. I'm relatively new to unRaid but looking back through the forums and seeing it's timeline, I for one am pleased for Limetech to see people like Tom #2, the moderators and now speeding_ant part of the process, as it can only benefit us, the end users. Lets just hope the business model is financially viable
  10. Which settings? In the webgui settings tab? Have you rebooted since upgrading? Will bring them back.
  11. to each their own: can be turned off in settings.
  12. Not sure what you mean here, can you post screenshot? I'll dig one up off the forums, it showed MB and CPU temp it's part of the discussion in the simple features thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12698.2250 As part of the plugin manager, is there thought on hosting the files? A lot of the authors for plugins that were created for version 5 have either left of stopped supporting it, and when new user comes here and want to install them they can't. Mostly the issue can be resolved by amending the .plg or hosting the files on someone else's dropbox etc. Also it would be nice if they all behaved in a similar fashion, through some sort of standardised framework. For example, some have the ability to check for updates, some are in different sections in the "settings" tab, some require conflicting dependencies, some are on git hub, some on google code etc I realise this is early stages, but i was just wondering what your vision for plugins is? For me, these plugins turn unRAID into a complete solution that i encourage others to use because it can do so many things. At the moment it's a bit too technically involved for a lot of users i speak to, compared to solutions from synology/netgear...
  13. @niccarter B) plugins is just a download page...well a portal to the wiki page. It's always been like this. C) plex has to be downloaded directly from plex website or use the plex updater plugin to automate it. There are inconsistencies for installed plugins where some recognised they are installed, some recognise they are are downloaded when they should also recognised they are installed. Don't forget this is day 1 - not even, it's a couple of hours old D&E) I would reboot, mine appear on the settings page, but only after a reboot.
  14. Do you mean the Log button on the menu bar, the System Log utility on the Utilities menu, or something else? Also what version of Safari are you using? System log Utilities menu, has a refresh rate of 1 sec by the looks of it. Safari - 6.0.5 There shouldn't be any refresh of that page at all... possible some other plugin is doing this? I am seeing the same thing on Google Chrome. I ran a quick sanity check, and launched IE (which I've never started in native mode, who knows what Windows is doing in the background?). Internet Explorer with no addons did the same thing. I don't see it refreshing, for me it shows as safari never completing the page, but it is useable. I've tried resetting resetting safari, no change...Safari -> reset safari -> all ticked except passwords.
  15. looking good.... observations: 1) No Temps on top black bar, liked that feature 2) unRAID Mountain range logo doesn't stretch all the way on my widescreen monitor 3) As already discussed, Cache and flash numbers don't line up with others 3) Some plugins' names are truncated - for me it's dropbox or "ropbo" atm 4) Log opens in a new tab but doesn't load the page 100%. tails the correct data but in safari the blue progress bar never completes. Works in firefox, running safari 6.0.5. 5) Plugins page needs a general tidy-up, but clearly work in progress 6) the help button only works on main and plugins page, again i presume work in progress 7) The Health and Stats tabs are missing and provided useful information ooooh, i do love this software! such a decent, tidy server solution that everyone should be using. Well done LimeTech, it deserves to have wider recognition.
  16. 15a fixed my problem, lets roll on to final
  17. Not suggesting that would be the permanent necessity, but would help to determine what this problem is. It's my test system, so i'm here to help. However i'm confused with what you are asking of me. 1) go script is stock 2) boot/packages is empty. I still get stuck at the same place, is there something you want me to try? I i go to stock, i.e. wipe the USB and start again, won't that defeat the purpose? The places to look are: /boot/extra /boot/plugins /boot/config/plugins No matter, I'll be releasing a -15a version soon to correct this. ok i see what you're getting at now...looking forward to 15a then

  19. There's no "old" structure there. It's mounted VERY early in the boot process, before anything else starts loading. And, I can't seem grep any 'var/log/setup/tmp' in the stock package. Can it be something extra that he has added, in his 'go', or as a package? my "go" is stock and packages DID have plex in it, but i removed that. Anything on top of that would mean going back to complete stock and adding the plugins manually, which isn't particularly friendly and encouraging to update for each release.
  20. Do you have any slackware packages in /boot/extra ? First of all i did (plex), but i could see it hanging at that part of the boot process, so i deleted it and tried again clean. Unless there are other files left over causing issues?
  21. i did download it twice as firstly i cpoied the files over on a mac, but thinking this may be a contributing factor, re-did it all on a PC. Weebotech, so simply rename /var/log and upon reboot a new mount point will be made automatically? or simply rename and then create anew before rebooting? cheers
  22. Just tried to update my test server from rc12a, replacing bzimage, bzroot and syslinux.cfg but it gets stuck on reboot stating: chmod: cannot access 'var/log/setup/tmp': no such file or directory. see attachment. I ran a disk checker on the usb stick and that came back ok edit: i have no idea why it's preview is upside down!?, but downloaded it's the right way! Second Edit: Just put 12a back on by overwriting those 3 files and it's working on 12a. Any ideas?
  23. well it seems that it's any active torrent that is seeding. This doesn't happen in transmission. utserver must be writing something, which is a shame. + i'm sure it never use to be like this! does anyone else have utorrent successfully seeding and having parity spun down? maybe it's the way i have it configured. I use a cache share called torrents to do the heavy writing whilst downloading and then the mover runs to put it on the array. is this wrong? i suppose this can be moved to plugins forums
  24. thanks for reply, well i've narrowed it down to utorrent by disabling the plugin and forcing a spin down. Previously is i forced a spin down, parity would start up within seconds....so i'm on the right track at least
  25. My parity drive is constantly "spun up" So i'm trying to diagnose what it is the culprit. I use a cache drive and a cache only share for my apps, so i hope it's not those. The rest is then files simple stored on it and should only be written to the array once, when the file mover kicks in. is there an lsof for parity? for open files, or is there something better i can use? searching the forums i see Joe's post but it's a year old, is this still relevant? do i need to use an updated version of inotifywait?: Install inotify tools ( inotifywatch/inotifywait.) this can be done through unMENU, or you can log in on the command line and type: mkdir -p /boot/packages cd /boot/packages wget http://www.slackware.org.il/slackware/slackware-12.2/slackware/a/inotify-tools-3.13-i486-1.tgz installpkg inotify-tools-3.13-i486-1.tgz If you have a lot of files on the drive, you'll want to increase the max number monitored by typing something like this: echo "100000" >/proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches Then invoke it as follows: inotifywait -mr /mnt/user/Movies (where "Movies" is the name of your user-share) then, just watch what is accessed.
