  1. Does anyone know if it's possible to add an additional skin to Needo's SABnzbd docker? I'd like to add the Knockstrap skin. I know how how to do it with a plugin, but not sure if it's even possible to do it myself with a docker. Thanks!
  2. About 55W for me. Measured with a Kill-a-watt between the UPS and server. Chugiak: You mention turning off unnecessary motherboard features. Can you give some examples?
  3. I was able to restart by killing the smdb process, but it looks like you would have many different pids to kill if you were to do that. In the end my restart was not graceful anyway and a parity check was initiated (although it completed with no errors thankfully). There's a bit more info here: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Console#To_cleanly_Stop_the_array_from_the_command_line That wiki may be old though, so I'd go with the procedure you linked to. You might be able to use some of the commands shown on the wiki to help get the shared unmounted. Unfortunately, I just don't really know enough to be of much help.
  4. I had a webgui/emhttp crash after about 3 days too (my first three days with 6.0.1). Seems like maybe there are a few of us experiencing the same bug. Here's my thread, with a recommended shutdown procedure from limetech: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=41938.0 It worked, but then Unraid did do a parity check on reboot, so I guess it wasn't really a graceful shutdown.
  5. Thanks itimpi. Just to confirm, you're referring to this plugin right: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=31735.0
  6. Thanks for the support. It's back up now and seems ok, but apparently didn't shutdown gracefully because it kicked off a parity check. I'll let it run. The only issues I had with your reboot procedure were: needing to kill smdb in order to release the user shares, and mdcmd gave me a command not found. Thanks again. Hopefully this was a fluke.
  7. Not really sure. I have been using it heavily over the past 3 days while getting it setup, installing dockers, etc. Got it all just how I wanted it yesterday. When it locked (this morning) I had just sat down at my PC and clicked in the web GUI from dashboard over to main. It had finished a parity check over night, but that was several hours before the freeze. It's still running if you'd like me to grab logs or anything. I'm happy to help debug. Also, if you can point me to a shutdown procedure I'd much appreciate it. I've used this in the past, does it still apply to v6.0.1 with docker: http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php/Console#To_cleanly_Stop_the_array_from_the_command_line
  8. I've recently updated to v6.0.1 and it's been going great except for this hiccup. The web GUI was inaccessible and I noticed that emhttp was at 100% CPU (via top). Tried using the powerdown script but it didn't seem to do anything. Also tried killing emhttp and then running the powerdown script, but that didn't work either. Did some searching and it looks like the powerdown script may not work when emhttp has crashed or been killed. What's the best way to gracefully shutdown now that emhttp is killed? I have docker enabled.
  9. Background: I just recently moved from v5 to v6.0.1 and also want to upgrade from an HDD cache to an SSD. I'm using an mSATA drive so that I can expand the system in the process - plus get better performance with dockers. Planning to convert the current HDD cache drive to an array drive after I'm sure that all is well with the new one. I've seen the general procedure in the forums and on the wiki, but have a few questions and wanted to just confirm that my specific plan is current and correct: [*]Power down and install the new SSD [*]Power back up [*]Stop all dockers and make sure they are set to NOT autostart [*]Invoke Mover [*]Copy cache data to folder on one of the specific array drives [*]Stop array [*]Reassign the cache drive to the new SSD [*]Start the array [*]Format the new SSD cache drive [*]Copy the cache data back to SSD from the array drive [*]Restart the array [*]Start all dockers and reset them to autostart Ok. How'd I do? Questions: [*]Does it matter if I stop the dockers individually or just disable docker in the system settings? [*]Should I do as shown above? Or should I use the Unassigned Devices plugin to copy the data directly from the old cache to the new one (once it's installed and formatted)? I'm trying to really minimize my plugins. Is there a way to do this without plugins? [*]What's the best way to copy the data? mc vs cp vs rsync? Will they all preserve ownership and permissions? The biggest issue I've had with plugins and docker has been with permissions, so I'd like to get this right. [*]I've never added a non-precleared drive (I know not to pre-clear an SSD). How long will the formatting take (it's a 500GB SSD)? Could I format it before adding it as the cache? Thanks in advance for your responses!
  10. FWIW I was having this problem and was troubleshooting for a while. Then in the end, when I played a movie for a while it turned out that it was working fine. Not sure if I fixed anything at all in my troubleshooting or if it was fine all along. I'd try that first...
  11. Is there any reason to do a clean install vs using this upgrade plugin (other than the upgrade might fail)? I have a ~3 year old 5.0-rc11 server that I'm finally ready to update. I have several plugins, packages, customized go script, etc. The only thing I'd like to keep is my config, otherwise I want to switch to docker and get back to as clean an install as possible. This plugin will give me a clean install with only my array/shares config carried over right? All of my other plugins/packages/customizations will be removed? I have two identical USB thumb drives, so I would make a backup and have a fail safe either way. Thanks!
  12. I don't think I would have been happy with the noise performance of the stock fans on any cage, so I don't mind. I think it was inevitable for me.
  13. I haven't built the system yet, but I have purchased 2 BPN-DE350s and have swapped out the fans for Noctua NF-A8 ULN's. Had to ditch the plastic fan cover from the BPN-DE350 and install a foam gasket to get the fan to seal on the enclosure, but it seems like it will work well. I'm planning to just plug the fans into the motherboard, so the non standard fan plug doesn't matter. I didn't even want to mess around with the stock fans and having to pull it all apart when I find that they are too loud. Noctua's can't be beat as far as I'm concerned. Although, like I said, I haven't built this system yet...so it could all be a big disaster...
  14. http://www.eweek.com/enterprise-apps/docker-rivals-join-together-in-open-container-effort.html What impact does this have on unRAID? Is it a good thing or a bad thing? Too early to tell?
  15. Thanks for taking a look guys. garycase: Could I short that pin on the power supply so that it's just always on? (With something like this: http://amzn.to/1G7c8qP) I think the motherboard does respond to a power switch, so there would be a switch for the server. I could then use the external power supply switch (on the back) if I really needed to turn off the power supply.
  16. Looks like I will get my hands on a free motherboard, CPU, and RAM that I could upgrade my server with. The CPU is much faster, so it would help with unrar, par2, transcode, etc. But it's an industrial motherboard and doesn't seem to have a 24-pin power connector. I just see a 4 pin connector. Does anyone know if this would work with a standard ATX power supply using the +4 from the 20+4 pin connector? The documentation isn't very clear. It's currently being used with an external power supply, but I want to use my existing internal ATX power supply. http://www.asrock.com/ipc/overview.asp?Model=IMB-180
  17. Thanks for the quick reply. My config directory for Sonarr is set to: /mnt/cache/applications/Sonarr/AppData Does that work?
  18. I'm getting, "PID not created, application did not start for some reason" for both Sonarr and Plex Media Server. They seem to have installed ok, but I can't get them to start. What should I try? How can I troubleshoot? I've tried rebooting and uninstalling/reinstalling the plugins, but no luck. Also verified that there are no gcc files in packages.
  19. Thanks for the replies. I decided the simplest solution was to move the files to the usb drive so they are available to be copied. It's working now.
  20. I'm trying to execute a simple copy command in my go script to copy an sabnzbd skin into the right location. Anyone know why this wouldn't work? cp /mnt/cache/applications/sabnzbd/skinsholding/Knockstrap /usr/local/sabnzbd/interfaces/ -r I can literally copy and paste that text into the terminal from the go script and the copy works fine. Is the cache not mounted yet when the script runs? Thanks!
  21. Thanks for the response. No new data has been written to this disk since Feb, so I'm not really sure what caused it to be kicked. But there shouldn't be any corrupt data to check. I'm rebuilding the drive onto itself now. I also grabbed a new drive today and am pre-clearing it. I'll try this first, but if this fails then I'll definitely replace it.
  22. I came home last night and found I had a red balled disk. This is my first one in 3 years with Unraid, so I'm hoping to get some advice. Unfortunately, I didn't grab a syslog before shutting down last night. But the drive showed up as uninstalled (via the web with the array stopped) and smartctl failed to run on the drive stating, "Smartctl: Device Read Identity Failed (not an ATA/ATAPI device)". This morning I checked the SATA and power cables and they seemed fine, but I unplugged/plugged to be sure. Fired up the server and now the drive shows up and passes a SMART check. The one new (relatively) variable is that I switched SATA cards to a used AOC-SASLP-MV8 a month ago. This drive is on that card, although it shares the SAS port with 3 other drives, which have not reported any errors. I'm attaching the syslog that I grabbed this morning and the output of smartctl for the drive in question. I don't have a backup drive on hand and would need to buy one and pre-clear it in order to replace this drive. I think I need to do that anyway just to have one available in case of future failures, but I can't quickly swap drives right now. I'm also not convinced it's a failed drive. I should also mention that I've got plenty of space to spare on other drives and this is one of the smallest & oldest drives in the array. Based on the info here, what would you recommend? Help is GREATLY appreciated! (I'm on 5.0-rc11 and the red balled drive is sdk) syslog.txt smartctl_output.txt
  23. I can give you one datapoint for CPU. I have an i3 3220 (3.3GHz) and it's used for transcoding all the time. Works great. You'd probably be better off going with a Haswell i3 now, but based on my experience you don't need the high end i3. The 4160 (3.6GHz) seems to be a good sweet spot right now here in the USA - it's on sale on Newegg for $119. I have an Asrock MB that's no longer in production, so I can't really recommend that. I recently picked up a SuperMicro AOC-SASLP-MV8 on eBay for about $50 and it's been great, so I'd look for that. I have 8GB of RAM in my system. Question for you about the D-316: Could the case be used vertically if you pulled the ears and handles off? How would it look?
  24. Anyone? Is there another forum I should try? I tried LinusTechTips but got no love there either.
