Hello.
This is my first Unraid Server.
Parts used:
- Case: Silverstone DS380
- PSU: Be Quiet SFX Power 3
- Motherboard: ASRock H310CM-ITX/ac
- CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-9400F
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 32GB DDR4 2666MHz CL16 (dual channel kit)
- GPU: Gainward GeForce® GT 710
- LAN: 2.5G Ethernet LAN Card RTL8125B
- NVMe to Sata: IOCREST M.2 (PCIe 3.0) to 5 Ports SATA III Jmb 585 chip
- Case Fans: 2 X Be Quiet! Shadow Wings 2 120mm PWM
- PWM FAN Splitter for better cable management
- CPU Cooling: Arctic Liquid Freezer II 120
- UPS: 360W nJoy Keen 600 USB
- Cache HDDs: 2x (SSD) Kingston A400, 240GB
- Parity and Disk: 2x Shucked WD Elements Desktop 12TB (will get 5 more)
Motherboard has 4 SATA slots and another 5 from the NVMe -> HDD Adapter. JMB 585 creates 5 separate SATA III channels
I kept only the case for the Wi-Fi slot, cut the antennas and plugged in the new LAN card.
GPU was added because the CPU doesn't have a graphics card. I also removed the VGA connector (pics bellow) and replaced it with the LAN one. It also has passive cooling so I kind of like it and is enough for VMs that don't use a lot of graphics.
I "recycled" the CPU and the RAM when I upgraded my PC.
The UPS is controlled using the "NUT - Network UPS Tools" which works great!
Cache and parity are connected to the ports on the Motherboard and the other data drives are connected to the nvme adaptor.
The case has an option to remove one drive bay and add a big GPU. I just removed that and left it empty for better airflow.
Looks crowded but there is airflow.
Temps during parity check are:
HDD: 35° C
SSD: 30° C
CPU: 36° C
GPU: 41° C
Motherboard: 41° C
Fan Speed: CPU 676RPM / Case 922 RPM
Indoor temperature at the time of the test: 23° C
Total power consumption is around 45-55W during parity checks.
