How can I amend the dockerfile this UNMS container installs? It stills links to 0.13.3 and we are already on 1.0.0-beta / 0.14-rc

Ok so I updated yesterday and in 24 hrs docker image has grown 10% from 67% to 77%! So still a problem for me! :(

Sadly, I had to end up dumping my appdata folder and starting fresh with the nico640 docker.

Worked fine for a few days, then log size and update issues persisted.

  2. FYI -- Household and devices are still mac and iDevices. I am migrating away from iTunes so I don't have to use AppleTV app. Been testing Catalina and the ability to use Home Users in Plex segregates our watch history and Plex is straight forward for consumption.

  3. Quick current hardware rundown and problem:

    AsRock z97 Extreme4 / i3-4160 / 16GB DDR3

I used to have my Plex paths pointed to my iTunes media folders because all devices and household was Mac or iDevice. Plex ran smoothly with no video card due to all the files being 1080 or 720 .mp4.

New problem. I automated my life by switching to using radarr/sonarr via NZBget and these new file types and codecs started to hammer my CPU. So I purchased a Quadro P2000 which took a lot of work off the CPU when nvdec and nvenc is utilized and the whole system cooled down a lot.

Now I see a good bit a CPU usage when NZVget is unpacking a season of files or certain larger files, encoding high bit audio, and when minecraft is being hit hard. Which is understandable for just an i3-4160.

     Now the question of direction.

    1) Keep current mobo and memory (possibly add more) and AsRock has confirmed on the spec sheet the use of an i7-4770k with this mobo. Bigeest and fastest CPU they confirmed on their list. Unsure if any other work. (~$350-$400)

    2) Stay in the 115#/TR4 socket area because of water cooler socket compatibility. Get something like an AsRock Phantom/Faitality 6 with DDR4 memory and either a Threadripper 1950x or i7 8th gen? Somewhere in that neighborhood of hardware. (~$500-$600)

Either direction will still utilize the Quadro P2000. I am asking because I have been out of the hardware game since my current setup was purchased. Only hardware I've bought has been drives since then. I am not familiar with generations and differences in that much detail.

No VM's. Just Plex, nextCloud, MineOS, NZB, OMBI, Tautulli.

    Thanks

My UNMS log file has now grown to 4GB!!! How do I stop this? In settings log rotation is set to 50MB!

I have the same issues and am unable to locate a solution.

Same here, my docker size was creeping about 1 % every 2 days.

I just upgraded UNMS to 0.14 and instantly got a notification that Docker size returned to normal. See my previous post.

  5. Quick question.... With the new Time Machine SMB/export settings in the 6.7.0 RC releases, is it safe, recommended, or not recommended to set cache to "Yes" on these shares. I have them currently set to Cache = "No" and restricted to 500Gb each and including only one disk. I am not sure if unRaid treats the TM *.sparsebundle file as a single file or not.

Bravo for implementing this feature BTW with the size limit feature. i am now able to disconnect 5 external HDD's around my house. It works flawlessly so far.

  6. Before I get raked over the coals for this question let me explain the need and plan. I never ran an unRaid box with no Parity do I don't even know if it's possible.

I just upgrade 3 drives in my main box which allowed me to remove 3 - 2 TB drives. I have a small Lenovo Server box and my plans are to crank it up for the sole purpose of running Unifi Video Docker and hopefully Unifi Protect if Ubiquiti eventually releases a port.

This will be for a residential Video setup and if I were to lose a data disk, a quick wipe and re-setup wouldn't be that big of a deal. FWIW the Unifi NVR's and gen 2 Cloud Keys themselves don't have any protection.

So to make a long post short, can I pass up using my third disk for parity and have a 6 TB share without unRaid or Fix Common Problems screaming at me daily?

  7. I use the Dynamic Black theme and with the new UI I needed a darker banner. With the Lime-Tach banner off it was white. I made a few rectangles in Figma for anyone to use. I did these very quickly and didn't go around grabbing colors with a dropper. Feel free to change them to your needs. They are currently 1000x100 but I believe any size solid color PNG would work as it appears to be responsive.

The Figma Link is below if you want the SVG file to change the color. .

The darkest one works the best as is.

  8. Thanks for the help.

I was reading about the masquerade feature after I played around with the ports. I will try that. I do have static IP’s which are assigned to sub domains so I will add it in.

I used the config file editor plugin to edit the files. Which seems to work great and the changes seem to hold. I went back and checked with TextWrangler to make sure.

I’ll post my findings or resolutions for anyone in the future.

For FTP to work, you need additional passive ports. In the local network they won't be blocked by your firewall and everything will work.

From the WAN some routers allow the automatic  opening of passive ports while others don't. So you might need to define a passive port range for proftp to use in the proftpd.conf and define the same range of open ports in your router.

Make sure to really change the port to something other as 21, as that will get constantly scanned with malicious intent.

So after researching through the readme I went in my router and opened port range 60000-65534 and pointed that to my server.

I then added the following to the proftpd.conf file:

    PassivePorts 60000 65534

Still have successful LAN and no WAN access. Does that line of text go anywhere special in the conf file. I also can't add anything in the Edit .conf file section of the plugin settings page. With the plugin stopped and/or started. Should I be able to?

    ports.png

  10. Sorry if this a redundant question, I skimmed through the thread and searched a bit but couldn't find a similar issue with a resolution.

I have been having this plugin installed but I am having a slight issue. I currently have ProFTPd-2018.02.05.1 running and I am on OS 6.5.1. I have created a user and placed "ftpuser" in the description. (minus the quotes). I also opened up port 21 in my router for testing purposes. Will change ports once this is working.

I can connect fine when I am on my LAN via 192.168.x.x, but have never been successful via WAN. I sometimes get the username and password dialog box but after hitting enter I get nothing. I have tried the Transmit iOS app and various other browsers ftp clients with no luck. The transmit app works fine on LAN.

I feel there is one small piece of the puzzle I am missing.

    Thanks in advanced.

  11. Hi there

This docker has stopped working. I can not access the web interface due to it can not access the port 8080 it seems like.

"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 192.168.0.100:8080."

Any ideas on what I can do? I'm am noob in unraid so an detail explanation would be appreciated!

My three instances are working fine from ip:8080, ip:8081, and ip:8082.

  12. Thanks rmeaux I am not sure either.

The library files are residing on individual Mac devices so that everyone can define his/her individual ratings, playlist, etc.

Only the music files are on the iTunes unRAID share and from time to time iTunes doesn't find the files so that I have to correct it manually. This is annoying and very time consuming. It is important that the path that is defined under iTunes settings is not continuously changing!

Yeah that's a little different than my environment's setup.

I have a Mac mini on living room tv that is the iTunes boss and always on. All files are imported/maintained from that machine. The library is then shared and I also have Plex pointed to my iTunes Media folders.

Each bedroom either has an Apple TV 2/3 which can see the library or an Apple TV 4 which can see library or run Plex App.

When I ran multiple iTunes libraries and/or multiple people using same library, it would corrupt the iTunes temp files and make it freak out and render it a useless library file. Again only my experience. Take it for what it's worth.

I had used Ant'a iTunes mount script for years until this app and margarita came out with auto mounting. OSX Sierra through a wrench in my system with the new mounting protocols.

  13. @speeding_ant I am using the tool to automount a couple of shares upon reboot of my iMac and one of the most important share is for iTunes.

However I am afraid that Margarita is continuously messing up the path to my music files. Give you 2 examples:

    /Users/user_1/Library/Containers/nz.co.pixeleyes.Margarita/Data/Library/Application Support/Margarita/Mounts/4BEBE205-5058-424A-85D4-15F3E9C75FFA/iTunes/Fleetwood Mac/Mystery to Me/01 Emerald Eyes.aiff

    /Volumes/iTunes/Music/Fleetwood Mac/Rumours/02 Dreams.aif

So some music files are linked to /Volumes/iTunes/Music.... and others to /Containers etc.

Is there any trick to make the path permanent? Thanks

Not sure if my situation was the same but my mac would sometimes mount my shares with my array name

    /unRaid/Libraries/iTunes/........

And sometimes with the array IP

    192.168.1.3/Libraries/iTunes

Depending what app or script mounted first.

But in both instances iTunes picked up on the path change. I'm thinking it doesn't matter as long as it the same .itl library file being grabbed by iTunes, iTunes figures it out. I have noticed this and went do a "get info" on a few files on each mount scenario and iTunes actually changed the file path name depending on the mount scenario.

Again, not sure if this is the same thing you're seeing, this is what happens in my setup.

    Hi rmeaux,

Do you get any warnings when running calculate (especially on the unRaid/Videos folder) ?

Is unBALANCE the only app/plugin writing to disks ? Maybe you have couchpotato, mover, nzbget, etc running in the background ?

Other than that, maybe a double check on the health of the source disk ?

Well the only errors it had after calculate was a few folders didn't have the user as drwxr..... but it was not the Videos folder. Ran new permissions again. No plugins or dockers running. All shares Were unmounted on clients and my main iTunes app is closed.

I ended up manually moving the files and folders from disk2 to disk3. I did find after I moved the files and went back to start deleting the source files i had a few files that had a "~" in the file name and it was kicking back an unable to delete error due to filenames length too long. I removed the tilde and was able to delete it.

I wish I would have ran unbalance again to see if it would have performed after the filenames change before deleting them.

Is a tilde something that would have suspended move?

Also, is there a way to balance the array after I get everything to XFS? I know this was asked before somewhere but I can't find it. I only get search results back on unbalance topics. Having disk color coded red and orange bothers me.

    Thanks.

  15. Well I finally had room to perform some data moves. But I keep getting this error kick out. I have ran New Permissions a few times also. Can someone shed some light on what I can try or what the problem could be. It is preventing me from completely emptying a drive.
