Added Static, and started up the array. Instantly lost access. Updated syslog, started array around 14:52 iesh Hopefully now its online it'll stay that way. Is this a failure on my OPNsense side of thing? Cable issue? Or new motherboard NIC issue? Or just software based issue? syslog-10.0.0.10 (1).log

Hi all, So I've just built up a new server and watching media on JF the server will randomly lag out. As in it becomes unresponsive from a UI point of view, and the video I'm watching just stops buffering so it gets to the end and just stops. I've only noticed then when watching JF, and it happened today at 14:30 while watching a show. I have added my diagnostics after the server became responsive again. I can log into the console via IPMI when the UI is dead. During the time of lockup, I am unable to hit any docker UI, and the unRAID UI I dont believe I was transcoding at the time, but I do have HW transcoding setup with a p2000. I'm not sure what I can test or check regarding this. And again Ive not noticed the UI or server locked at any other point other than when watching JF. And it can happen within 5mins or within 30mins. I did run a RAM check and it didnt return any errors. namek-diagnostics-20230208-1449.zip

So I’m in the process of starting a new unRAID server and debating about which format to use. Is BTRFS worth using these days in 2023? Also is drive encryption worth using? And will this impact my format choice?

I thought it would help with more spinners, guess i got the wrong end of the stick. Yeah I have one pool where all the recordings go to that ssd pool, no real reason other than I had those SSD's spare so why not use them and keep them running 24/7 I might change it on the new build and dedicate a drive to it, maybe a WD Purple or something but not there yet.

Yes but also might just totally start fresh.. Nothing really to be lost. So would be happy to wipe them and start again if there is better ways now days. I did start that last server like 5 years ago so lots may have changed or been better

Hi all, I'm building out a new server due to reasons. Is there a best practices somewhere I can follow for good tweaks like TurboWrite or what not? And choosing the best drive format and why and so on? Just general tweaks to make unRAID amazing...

Took a look at config/super.dat as you suggested. Issue is it seems to just be a list of all the drives with a bunch if ? and other almost corrupt looking characters around But it doesnt show me which drive was parity and which were like data 1 through 16 Is there a way to find that? Or a way to open that .dat on Mac?

Ah... I will have new SAS controller as I'm going from backplane to just straight up SAS to SATA Was also thinking it would be nice to start fresh... So just gotta go through it. But on the new server I just wanted to add which drives were Data and which were Parity from old Server...

Hey all, So my server gave up the ghost and will no longer boot. Will need to do some testing at a later stage, but for now I'm building up a new server. I have taken my usb key (although I have a new one that I want to use and do a clean unRAID install) So the only real thing I need is my drive layout, especially which drives were my parity. Is this info somewhere on the USB key that I can get all the drives as I'll be keeping the data drives intact in a new server. Also... my drives are encrypted, so if I set the same encryption key will this negate this issue on the new server?

I updated to RC8 today and my NVIDIA Quadro P2000 is no longer showing in the NVIDIA app. Tried to restart a few times and no change. I see its still shown but NVIDIA app no longer shows it: Is there something that needs to be done/reset for it to show back? Roll back to RC7 and its back and I can see my Installed GPU *EDIT* Did another upgrade and this time was successful... weird

Currently I dont have any of them. I was looking the last couple of days but got lost in the woods. I was thinking maybe getting a dual m.2 to pcie adapter with 2x coral m.2's but honestly no idea. I have 5 cams maybe more in the future if this helps, and i'd love to get into face detection.

Speaking of the above. Can someone recommend me a Coral for PCIe or and adapter? Which works well with what adapter? I unfortunately dont have any m.2 slots on my mobo, but would really like to use a Coral. Was thinking of some M.2 adapter but I got really lost as to what would actually work.

Thanks I did try to check that and I grabbed the 1080p stream which is the highest my cam does. Will keep investigating

Sorry next question: I have some Unifi cameras, just hooked it in, and its REALLY grainy. Does anyone have any idea how I can reduce the grainyness? Using Unifi is pretty sweet and looks good. Through Frigate it looks like I'm in a thunderstorm
