So after many years of switching cards and motherboards and never having a problem I purchased 2 ASR-71605. Because I made a custom case that can fit 8 3X5 so I can now have 40 drives….. I was swapping out 3 Marvel Hard Drive Controller Installed In the server…. I have not had any issues with the Marvel card because I turned off vt-d and ioomu. Well after installing the cards they alarmed because my mother board does not have any empty slots so there is not enough air flow. I moved the cards around and around and never got it working in a acceptable manner. So I rolled back all the changes…. I never let the card create a array and set it to HBA mode prior to connecting any drive. But now non of the drives are mountable. Not even the cache drives. Once again Sorry to bother but I am panicking a little. I have around 25 tb in limbo now. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. dragon-tower-diagnostics-20201018-2005.zip

Hi there I searched the forum for a solution but nothing works...my setup is a little strange so I will explane. First my server has 17 drives including a few ssd. The ssd is for the cache and I have a hdd of same size on btrfs. I have 2 vms running one is nethserver and the other is win 10. To shutdown I first shutdown both Vm then I check for open files. I kill the open files. Then I stop the array. The array stops correctly. Then I tell the system to shutdown and I get the unmounting remote file system... for ever. How can I fix this... After I force the power to go off... using a internet remote switch. And I have the seating in the bios to turn on once the power is restored the system does not kick off a parity check. So this is just mainly a annoyance.. but would like to fix it. Any ideas on how I can diagnose or fix? Thank you in advance Thornwood Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good news my system that had a kernel Panic is now on 6.3.2 with no problems. Thank you. I am happy that it is good again. I will keep studying for future ideas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Should this fix the kernel panic problem in 6.3.1?

Hi sorry to bother but I am getting a kernel panic the moment the system starts. Before logging is even started. Had to Roll back to 6.2 to be able to use system. This is a Xeon server mother board system. I don't see how I can help fixing the session but if there's anything I can do like running test build on it buy all means contact me. Hi my systems are both locked out and can't login.... what is the file in the flash that holds the username and password information. Well i just started a run.... waited 30 seconds closed the window and all writing on the server stopped....... if i leave the window open writing doesn't stop..... ? i did a dry run an then you are correct nothing stops and docent forget but normal run for me is not acting that way. ok sorry so it looks like it is still running but the website can't tell so it allows you to run it again?? can the header be made to reflect if it is truly running? and lock out the start like a parity check? sorry for the trouble but i am guessing that i must have started it 3 times now on top of each other prior to knotting that it was running.

By no good I can send screen shots if you are interested..... I installed the plugin yesterday and running on newest 6.

If I start the plugin and leave the page it dies. I have to keep the page open. It only works on edge. Internet explorer is no good neither is Safari and I don't have Crome or fire fox. . I almost emptied a drive and by mistake closed the window and then went back and it remembers nothing..... Didn't see open.... Checked disk activities and no more writing..... Weird

Is there any way to keep the script running even if the page is closed and re opened like a parity sync?

I think the mass appeal is if we can make it simple straight forward and safe ( as posable) i will try that plug in and see if it will do what i need i am just concerned that i loose data because of a stupid mistake.

Hi all With different formats and an needs it would be nice to be able to retarget the mover script to a drive in the array. This script would move out all files and folders just like the mover does today from a chosen origin. Giving us a simple way to clean off a drive without having to loose parity protection in the process or having a possibility of errors made by self on the writing from drive to drive (especially when someone like my self have deeply embedded folders making the task daunting.). You are correct. I think cleaning once a month is enough even for the most used server. If this was a Mac server you could not delete them.... They don't use much memory and if they were hidden better on samba shares it might not be such a annoyance. My thoughts.

Just a comment I will post in help once it happens again. Once I updated to this version now twice the system has lost the prokey and can't read/write to the USB drive. Here is the weirdest part this happens once the array is up for a few days. The glitch happens and it keeps running but the main page turns default white( I use black) VPN goes down and nothing on main page works except stop array. Once stop is hit I get advertising page to buy key? And restart button is gone. I have dynamix power plug in installed so I use right side restart feature but just so I don't have to force power cycle. Ether way comes back up to parity check with everything normal. The only thing my system has that is weird is I am using wd blacks and during parity checks they get 50c and I start getting emails about shutting down but it never really shutdown. On previous versions this error did happen but the us. Never acted like this. Well I thought this was a glitch of the flash so did several tests to make sure it was not but since it restarted no log file and since it loses ability to write to the USB I'm scratching my head on how I am going to get the log once it happens again. But I will post in general help at that time. For now I thought this would be a good FYI Thank you Thornwood
