  1. Its down again today and here whats on the screen directly after. There's à fatal error so I home it mean something this time... syslog-192.168.1.175.log
  2. Well not really... the computer itself stays on, but I can't do anything like connecting to it and all my docker shutdown. So unraid crash idk why but not the computer itself at random times like 1 to 3 times per month and I have to restart the computer for it to work again.
  3. Hello, I'm experiencing recurring crashes with my Unraid server. Here are the details of my setup and the issues I'm facing: Hardware: Motherboard: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. - K31CD-K CPU: i5-7400 Memory: 31 GiB (2.7 GiB used, 19 GiB free) Drives: Samsung Flash Drive (sda): SMART data unavailable due to unknown USB bridge. ST2000DM001-1ER164 (sdd): 2 TB, no SMART errors. Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB (sdf): 500 GB, no SMART errors. ST4000VN008-2DR166 (sde): 4 TB, no SMART errors. ST12000NE0007-2GT116 (sdc): 12 TB, no SMART errors. ST12000VN0007-2GS116 (sdb): 12 TB, no SMART errors. Symptoms: The server was last operational until May 17th, 12:50:08. It seems to shut down or stop responding randomly, necessitating a full restart. No critical errors or anomalies are observed in the logs or SMART data from the drives. Logs and Observations: System logs up to the crash show normal activities with no critical errors. Memory usage is well within limits. All drives passed their SMART tests with no signs of reallocated sectors, uncorrectable errors, or other health issues. I've attached the relevant log files and SMART reports for further analysis. The picture is what pops up when my server crash. Any help in diagnosing and resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. unscinfinity-diagnostics-20240517-1301.zip syslog-192.168.1.175.log
  4. My server never felt so healthy and been so cool!
  5. For now, I don’t think I need more than five, so I will make sure things aren’t crashing first. 💁‍♂️ Here’s a little peek before I’m finished.
  6. Thanks a lot, everybody. I just bought what's on my wish list. I was thinking about adding an Intel Arc A-380 low profile for transcoding in my Jellyfin server. I know it's not really the place for that, but I want to hear what you're thinking. I actually have an Intel i5-7400 with QuickSync for transcoding in 1080p. About five people max could use my Jellyfin server at the same time. Do you guys think it could be worth it to add the GPU to transcode my files in H.265 for them to take up less space and for a better overall experience? Also, my motherboard is micro-ATX with a single PCIe x16 lane used for my SATA extension. So I would have to change my motherboard. Would it be worth the time and money for my use-case?
  7. Here's what im going with. I was unable to find a fractal desing core at a good price. For the psu I went with the A-tier the less pricey with enough power on newegg. For the case I went with one with a lot of room for drives and some preinstall fan that are directly toward the drives. My Wish List_ server _ Newegg.ca.pdf
  8. Alright, I will change my PC case and PSU. I'm from a small village in Quebec, Canada, and I don't have a place nearby to buy a second-hand PC case. Could someone suggest a budget case that can support all my drives and is future-proof at a low cost (on Amazon or Newegg)? Also, how can I cool the drives in the case?
  9. I don't think its the probleme... As you can see I should have enough room power wise.
  10. in the picture I've just started the parity check but in reality... it gets hotter than that. my unraid server keeps on crashing after a while in the middle of every parity check since I've add 3 new drives to it. I'm guessing its because of the heat my drives go throught(I don't have any fans). Could i add fans on the bottom pushing air up and stick them with 3m tape or something add a little 90mm exhaust fan. More importantly, would it cool the drives? What other solution do I have for it to cost the least possible.
