  1. I can say that way back I was one of those with issues with a realtek NIC. It was a pain to figure out that it was the cause as it would do things like you're experiencing. Finally came to figuring it out that multiple concurrent transfers would cause a lock up/loss of network. A single transfer would be fine. Added an intel NIC and never had a problem after.
  2. Upgrade went fine for the most part. I had 2 VMs that didn't want to boot but the other was fine. Looked at the configuration was slightly different so I matched them and it worked, thankfully I had that other working VM though as I don't know what changed between 6.6 and 6.5 that made that one VM not boot but its all good now. Looked at it again. Turns out i440fx-2.7 doesn't work for my VM's in 6.6, even though it worked fine in 6.5. Changed it to i440fx-2.3 and my VM's work. As far as the GUI, it was a slight shock on reboot but only took a bit to get used to it. A few tweaks would be nice (I've read it's a work in progress) The new buttons (red/orange) the color is fine. But they would go with the rest of the UI if the corners were rounded like every other box in the UI. Knowing this is in progress I hope the direction of the UI is not to go with square corners, personally I don't think they as nice on the UI. The white navigation/tool bar. Understandably the UI is trying to match the forum UI but the white bar on a dark theme is a bit too strong. For the dark theme it should be dark like in the previous UI. Also I think something changed in the information area in the top right (where it has the IP, name and version) As in the previous UI, I was able to read it just fine on my custom banner but now it's hard to make out. My banner in dark. I'm extremely happy about docker CPU/RAM usage making it into the GUI. (I had requested it) The issue is to see the stats, advanced needs to be turned on. Which is a lot of info trying to be displayed at the same time. Most of that info is only useful during config or troubleshooting. I would suggest one of two ways. 1) Split the docker page into config and monitor/general info. Something like this: Screen shot 2) Put docker stats under the stats page with a tab for docker. Since this is the location for stats, it makes the most sense to me. Additionally it make it easier to allow a graph/history of stats per docker which would be nice addition. It would be nice if they functioned like the existing stats. Being able to choose the time period to display, real-time, since start etc. Overall, great job bonienl! Is there a better place to discuss the gui rather then the announcement thread?
  3. Yeah when I asked about it, running a VM (not sure if it works on linux) and passing through the GPU was and is the only way to get it working on unraid. But that takes additional resources and makes the whole thing less efficient. I personally don't have any extra CPU cycles to give away to a VM. But it is a good way to see it working on your system.
  4. So I have a bunch of server related parts some that unraid users may find useful others maybe more towards homelab. Some of it is listed on kijiji, with pictures and descriptions (amongst some household stuff for sale). Would prefer to sell locally but will ship at buyers expense. I'll take cash, interact email money transfer, paypal and bitcoin. 5. I wanted this a while back and I had posted about it then. I would love to unload some of the transcoding work off my older CPU. Which would allow the entire server to run better and support more streams. I have an older gpu waiting for this purpose. Unraid would be really attractive to users who want to be able to use older hardware and still maintain good plex streaming ability. Unraid would be one of few if not the only NAS option to be able to transcode multiple streams effectively on hardware that isn't the latest and greatest. Being able to do this through docker fits the model of how unraid wants to be easy to use yet be versatile and powerful. So yea this is a +1 and a hope this will come true.
  6. Well is looks like the webui is hung. "504 Gateway Time-out" I've tried to get diags via telnet as I regained access to it this morning. But its hung/stuck at "starting diagnostics collection..." My dockers are still running and file are all accessible. Tried to copy the syslog to flash drive also hangs. But I did get some lines out of the syslog Aug 16 23:39:33 Excelsior nginx: 2018/08/16 23:39:33 [error] 10744#10744: *431150 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.106, server: , request: "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net", referrer: "https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net/Main" Aug 16 23:39:44 Excelsior nginx: 2018/08/16 23:39:44 [error] 10744#10744: *431150 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.106, server: , request: "GET /Main HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net" Aug 16 23:41:46 Excelsior nginx: 2018/08/16 23:41:46 [error] 10744#10744: *431150 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.106, server: , request: "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net", referrer: "https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net/Main" Aug 16 23:54:08 Excelsior nginx: 2018/08/16 23:54:08 [error] 10744#10744: *432122 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.106, server: , request: "GET /Main HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net" Aug 16 23:56:09 Excelsior nginx: 2018/08/16 23:56:09 [error] 10744#10744: *432122 upstream timed out (110: Connection timed out) while reading response header from upstream, client: 192.168.1.106, server: , request: "GET /favicon.ico HTTP/2.0", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock", host: "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net", referrer: "https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.unraid.net/Main" Side note, I was trying to find out a generic answer to the my initial question. I do like to be self sufficient and I do have others with unraid so if this situation ever comes up again it would be nice to know the best route to follow. Prime example, if canceling the parity check was an ok/right thing to do I could be rebuilding my array currently.
  7. Well I am going to pull and replace the drive anway... But there could be other problems I suppose as I've now loss the webui when going to grab the diags. Lost telnet also. I'm going to let it sit overnight an hope for a miracle in the morning. Not sure what else to do.
  8. I know this is not going to sound like the right tone in text so please understand I don't mean this in an ungrateful way. Why is every question asked always responded to with posting a diagnostic log? I do get that is helpful in sorting out a problem but. 1) before they existed questions were answered without them and 2) simple general questions shouldn't need that much detail. I'm a bit uneasy with posting my diags as when I've done so previously. Some of my information was taken from it and posted. Nothing really sensitive but stuff I wouldn't post myself. And had no control about removing it. I also find now, when looking for information in the forms, simple questions seem to go off the rails when other things are discovered in the diag logs leaving it hard to know the solution to common problem. So I guess my simple question is. If a drive gets disabled during a parity check (when Parity is already valid, parity has a green ball), what is the best practice? Do you cancel the check and then replace the drive or let the check finish then replace and rebuild?
  9. Short version. I'm 35% into a parity check and a drive got 745 read errors all of a sudden. It of course got disabled. So now I have a disabled disk and about 22 hrs left on the parity check. I do have a spare. Should I shut down and replace or let it finish first? Long version I had a power failure about a day ago. The array shutdown cleanly via an ups After I turned it back on, I decided to run a parity check as it had been awhile since it was last done. During the parity check the server hung, I tried to let it run its course but alas I had to do a hard reboot/unclean shutdown After booting I had to do a parity check due to the unclean shutdown. This is when my drive 14 got disabled. I am running dual parity. And as I mentioned, I have a spare already in the machine ready to go.
  10. Thank you pwm. I haven't had anyone explain why this might happen before. Next time I'll try that out. What would be the exact command to run?
  11. Well got a hung server again. No trouble accessing via telnet but both powderdown and poweroff don't do anything. I don't see how there should ever be a scenario where one has access to issue commands but none are good enough to cleanly shutdown the array. I of course tried various things, but eventually lost telnet access and had to do a hard shutdown.
  12. That's great and all, and google is helpful. But there used to be a search box at the top of each thread. Type in search term, hit enter. Not sure why we have had to go back in time. Also google search is definitely not better then all forum searches. Better then some yes, but some forums have much better laid out results.
  13. Anymore info or details? Trying to get Android-x86_64-8.1-rc1.iso installed. I can get it to boot the menu and do through the install on local disk but it hangs at booting. I tried just running it live but it just loads to a black screen. https://osdn.net/projects/android-x86/releases/69704
  14. Thanks boniel. Funny how obvious something like that is if you are thinking correctly. I've used tags with specific versions before and just never made the connection to use it to prevent updates, which makes a lot of sense.
  15. Try hitting "check for updates" even though you have updates showing. I Just looked now and I had no update all button until I hit check, even though I had updates showing. Is there a way to prevent updating 1 docker, when using the update all button?
  16. Don't give radar the correct category in the download client setting. It cant process if it doesn't know where the files are
  17. Since moving the sickbeard.db over isn't helping you. And you have all the information in the files it would make more sense to start with a fresh db. Just point to your tv shows folder and Medusa will scan everything in right the first time. Hopefully.
  18. I found rescan, for whatever reasons, doesn't really do a clean rescan. It's bugged me for awhile, probably should bring that up as an issue at some point. Delete the show. Restart medusa. Add the show and see what it does. I found that's the only way for it to forget and actually read the file name.
  19. At least I know I'm not crazy. Ever since the move to the new forums I've found it definitely harder to navigate. But not being able to search for a keyword in topics with hundreds of pages really makes finding information next to impossible. I hate asking questions that have already been answered and much rather find the answer for myself but not having search is terrible. Further more I found a interesting way to search a thread if the forum didn't allow it was to click the printer friendly button and then the topic becomes one page which you can use ctrl + f on. Problem is this new forum also removed the printer friendly button.
  20. Couple reasons why this could happen. I know they had a bug which I think is fixed now where all .mp4 files came up as unknown quality. Medusa just looks at the file name, type and I think may inspect the file a little bit. But it can never know the source of the file so it really only can determine resolution. Which in turn really only will use the labels, sdtv, 720p hdtv and 1080p hdtv. Even it the source is a bluray or DVD. Either way the most foolproof way to move from Sickrage to Medusa is to include the quality in the file name. Since the source is part of the quality when you rename. It's a pita but if you rename all your files to include the quality in Sickrage, then add that show to Medusa it will read the quality and source from the file name. As far as downloading files too small. If you are using the nzbtomedia script (you should be). There is a setting in there which you can set to a minimum file size. So if you set it to say 105mb anything smaller then that will return a failed download to medusa. Not of nice of a solution as not grabbing the file at all (like setting a minimum size in Medusa) but since that's not possible atm it's something. And regarding using ignored words. I know prefered and undesirable words have been broken for a few months now. Not sure if that also includes ignored. It will be fixed in 0.2.6 though. And I would definitely suggest finding groups to prefer. I personally think this is the best feature of Medusa.
  21. @bonienl I was kind of expecting plugins would have recieved a button to update them all also. Could that be added aswell?
  22. Slightly better alternative to manual, again it will be a blanket for all shows but you could have them added to sabnzbd as paused so you can review whats queued up. Or switch to sonarr. Both programs have their strengthens and weakness. This is a good example of that. Another option is to run both if you like medusa for the most part but have a few shows that need to have a size limit.
  23. I don't think sabnzbd has any size limit. The other thing you could do if you are into this kind of thing is a pre-queue script. It's likely possible to see the category, being TV and then fail/reject the download if above a specific size and then send that back to Medusa so it will try another version. It would unfortunately limit all your shows for a max file size. Unless you add show names to the script.
