  1. I've been running UNRAID on the same old desktop hardware for years and am running out of CPU and memory. Just got my hands on a Lenovo XEON server and want to change over to it. I have 6 disks (one being the parity) and the flash drive running the OS. I guess the question is how to go about moving everything over? Is it as simple as installing the USB to the new server, move the drives over and making sure the serial numbers match the drive "letters" in the array and bring it back online? Sorry if this is too elementary but I have to start somewhere.
  2. The video is onboard. It actually came up one time but then we had another electrical storm and it won't come up after it. I'm not sure about the management port. It's not a true "server" but rather built from scratch form an old PC I had. I'll continue to look and reply back. I'm running the latest unraid version. It's been so long since I've touched the actual config that I'm not sure exactly what it is. I'm not opposed to rebuilding but don't want to lose the data.
  3. After a thunderstorm and a power outage/surge, my unraid won't boot up. The server powers on but I can't even get into BIOS or ping (assumed maybe the display port went out and system might be booting). Looks like I need to build a new server and transfer over my drives (1 parity barely used and 4 data drives) but 1) I don't know the order or configuration of the drives and 2) don't know where to start. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Yes the “unable to fork” is familiar. I am now maxed out at 4Gbs and haven’t had any lockups. Please keep the great info coming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Recently something new has started for me on my Unraid. Although the system is up and running, I lose the ability to browse to my shares from any system (Windows, Linux, etc). When looking at the log I see some errors about being "out of memory." I'm not running any Dockers or VMs. The problem clears up after a reboot but comes back. Running quad core with 2 Gb of RAM. It's been running fine in this config for years. I did recently update to 6.4.0 from 6.3.x and that's when the issues seem to have started. I apologize I don't have any logs, since I recently rebooted. I'll try to get some logs uploaded. thanks in advance
  6. I ended up solving the problem by deleting everything on my flash drive but the config folder and then copying the 5.0.5 files/folders over, running make bootable and then reboot. Lost my plugins but kept my settings and shares. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I was able to get back to original state and now am trying again with similar results. Took array offline and powered down. Copied the syslinux folder and copied the two biz files. Renamed the files at the root of the drive that also exist in the syslinux folder. When I turn it on it hangs at a syslinux screen with a flashing cursor. Help.
  8. Now I'm having issues. My USB drive may be flaking out. Got a new one to work but it only sees three of my drives. Think it's because of the licensing. If I reformat the old drive and copy the old files back onto it, will it restore all my settings? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. When I attempt to upgrade my unRAID from rc11 to 5.0.5 by copying the bzroot, bzimage and syslinux.cfg to the root of the USB drive, I keep getting an error message after reboot about not being able to find syslinux\menu.c32 file. I made a backup of the USB before rebooting and can copy it back to USB and everything comes up fine. The file structure appears the same on both NEW and OLD and I don't see the syslinux folder. I do see the menu.c32 on the root of the drive. I have rerun the make_bootable.cmd after upgrade with now luck. Any ideas?
