  1. Unfortunately I'm in Canada, and Antec only ships within the USA. Anybody find an international source for the Antec 3-in-3 Cages for the Twelve Hundred?
  2. Room temperature is 22.5 During a parity check the hottest and topmost drive gets to no higher than 50 celsius. I have some temp readouts from the infrared thermometer, 60.0 celsius was the hottest spot I could find on the cpu. My only way of reading the CPU as I could never get k8temp to function. Here's a few pics of the server for the curious. Not the best pics, as its nestled in the basement underneath a staircase. Yes, there are still fans in the box, but none are plugged in. If anyone is curious, I'm using the MASSCOOL PCI Card, 4 internal SATA found here -> http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815280003
  3. Well, the system is already up and running. I'm just looking to expand and want a bigger case for it. The current components are: SeaSonic X650 Gold (has a 'smart' fan which only turns on when there's high power use, therefore it is never on in here, and barely makes heat) AMD Sempron 140 Sargas with 1GB DDR2 on an Asus M2A74-AM. Using a COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus to cool the CPU, no fan installed, hot air exits through the top of the 300 where the 20cm fan hole is. It runs at around 40-50 celcius, but thats only using a Infrared Thermometer, as I coulnd't get a temp readout in unRAID or unmenu. Currently housing 6x2TB drives, which run at 30-40 celcius when in use. So other than drive spinup, and running, which I have set to spindown in 15 mins, no noise. When they are spun down, and the case is open with your ear in the heart of it, it does not make a noise. I love it. I had to plugin the power light pins on the motherboard to be sure when its on and off now. Heh
  4. I've got nothing against the Twelve Hundred, it's a great case. I just like choice in my life. =) One thing I should have mentioned this is a 100% passive/fanless system, so I need an top exhaust for hot air to rise through, which the Twelve Hundred also has. It really doesn't seem like there is much options in what I'm looking for. I thought I had missed something in my exhaustive searches, but apparently not.
  5. So, I'm looking for a new home for my unRAID server. It's currently in an Antec Three Hundred and I'm running out of space to fit the additional hard drives which I will eventually be adding. I'm specifically looking for a Tower type case, which has 12 or even more External 5.25" Drive Bays. I know there are the lots of Norco, SuperMicro, etc. Rackmount cases out there, but I'm not a fan of them and don't plan on going that route. Specifically only want a Tower. The only one that seems popular and easily available is the Antec Twelve Hundred, if anyone has any other suggestions that would be amazing. Thanks in advance.
  6. Will beta3 include CPU temps in the standard interface, or have the necessary chipset files to work with lm-sensors?
  7. The second part of the problem is when I do try and load anyone of them with 'modprobe k8temp' I always get the 'FATAL: Module k8temp not found.'
  8. Motherboard: ASUS M2A74-AM unRAID: 4.5.6
  9. So I recently installed a new CPU cooler (Cooler Master Hyper 212+) in my unraid system solely for the purpose of running it passively. Although it runs fine with just the heatsink I'm more curious in knowing the temperature that it gets to now. The CPU is an AMD Sempron 1400. I've installed unmenu and lm-sensors. When running a scan, it finds the k10 processor and the it87 chipset, now it seems that the k10 temp can't be read yet, but when doing a modprobe it87 to install the sensor files it comes back with an error. Can anyone confirm that the Sempron's temp can't be read? Also what it'd need to install to get it87 to report temps.
  10. The Centurion 590 can accommodate 3 120mm front fans, so cooling is not an issue. Plus the server is in my basement, the only fan I use is the stock CPU one, and the PSU one. They've never hit above 40 degrees. I care about the orientation since the case itself will be on its side. I know hard drives work both ways, its just the piece of mind I'm looking for having them on their side. Main reason I want it on its side, is it will fit into an alcove I have in the basement, and I will be getting a LARGE heatsink for the CPU as to make CPU cooling passive, and have a 120mm fan exhaust in the back at low RPM. Just a tad quieter.
  11. I'm looking at upgrading my current unRaid setup to be able to accomodate more physical drives, and need advice from you guys. I'm planning to get the Centurion 590 and have it sit on its side, like a rackmount case. I prefer the open concept cages, which allow good airflow and don't pack the drives in tightly. Like the Cooler Master 4-in-3 Device Module http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2814 or Scythe Hard Disk Stabilizer http://www.scythe-usa.com/product/acc/042/scyhdsx4-detail.html I don't see the point in hot swappable, because in all honesty how often do you have your drives fail, plus that you'd need quick access to replace them. Not often. A little silly in my opinion. Now to get to the question. Like I said, I want the case sitting sideways, therefore I want the hard drives to follow. Is there a HDD cage that resembles the ones mentioned (open concept), but holds the drives sideways.
