  1. presence06, did you ever find a workaround for this? I'm going through this problem right now with my Ryzen 2700x trying to redeem a code in my VM. The AMD app immediately closes each time I open it.
  2. I gave that a try but it didn't seem to work. Instead I ended up backing up the config folder, using the USB utility to create a fresh 6.8 install on the drive, then replaced the config folder. That seemed to solve the problem. Might be a ticking time bomb as the USB drive is now about 6.5 years old, but it was good enough to get it working for now. Thanks for the help.
  3. So my machine was running well and last night I saw there was a new stable build. I had to restart to change some CPU isolation configurations anyway, so figured might as well get things current. Bad move... My system will no longer boot. I don't think it's UNRAID, however. I'm getting this error during the boot sequence, which leads me to believe that it's a corrupted flash drive: Unpacking initramfs... Initramfs unpacking failed: junk in compressed archive At this point it hangs and I have to hold the reset button to power off the system. I'm running Memtest 86 right now, but seems to be fine. My question is, does this look like a flash drive problem? Also, I have a very old backup drive that's probably on version 5.xx (bought two licenses when I originally paid); would booting up this old flash drive be harmful for my system? Thanks
  4. Whoops. There once was a man on Unraid, An upgraded drive he did crave He ran a preclear without any fear and almost sent his new drive to its grave.
  5. EDIT: Don't be like me. Never preclear an SSD. So I've solved this problem and reporting back in case anyone else finds this thread for the same issue I had. First off, I fixed the drive issue by running pre-clear on the disk. I had heard that you don't need to preclear SSDs (and it tends to make them overheat), but oh well, it worked. And for the other random errors, those were from having old GUI windows open that had been left open prior to the restart of the system.
  6. I did some searching but couldn't seem to find a solution to my particular problem. Over black friday I picked up an M2 2TB ADATA SSD to replace my old 240GB SATA cache drive. I popped the NVMe drive in, moved the data off of my old cache drive, stopped the array, and tried to start it back up with the M2 drive as the cache drive, but I'm getting this error about "unsupported partition layout". Even when the array is stopped and the new drive is unassigned, there is a "FORMAT" button next to it, but the button is greyed out and doesn't do anything when I click it. I checked my log and I'm getting a weird looping error with unassigned devices plugin and the ca.backup plugin, but I'm not sure if those are related (log attached). Thanks for any help. log.txt
  7. Bumping this to see if a solution was ever found. I installed a fresh Win10 VM off the newest ISO directly from Microsoft this week and am encountering this problem. I'm running a GTX1080 card, using the hdmi audio on it, and keep getting the audio losing sync on Chrome streaming video. The weird thing is the audio is moving ahead of the video, and a refresh of the stream seems to fix it. Have all the MSI stuff enabled and double checked, along with the drivers. Thanks in advance for any help.
  8. Thanks, worked like a charm! Many headaches saved!
  9. I think the problem is probably with my Unraid network settings. I've attached a screenshot of what they look like now. I remembered when I upgraded to 6.7 it completely broke my internet connection. I added a line in the routing area to fix it, but don't remember exactly what I did. This was before VMs were ever enabled on my system.
  10. I've been following SpaceInvader's setup guide for turning my Unraid into a gaming box, but I've run into a problem... I'm trying to install Splashtop Desktop, but my client is recognizing it as a remote server. I think the issue is that the VM is on a different subnet (client computer is on 192.168.1.x, VM is on 192.168.122.x). I tried manually changing the IP address of the VM inside of Windows, but it wouldn't allow me to do so (and it wouldn't list any details as to why - perhaps because I'm connected via VNC?). I've also read that this method may lead to a headache. This is also causing a problem where my array isn't even appearing in my network devices. I can access the array via IP, but it's not showing up under the network tab. Has anyone else ran into this issue? Any insights or fixes? I know that paying for the full version of Splashtop is an option, but even still I wouldn't want to run the connection through my internet for both lag and data reasons.
  11. I've done a bit of searching and I don't think this is a currently available feature, but I apologize if it is. Anyhow... I'd love a feature where you could set a drive for permanent removal and have it automatically move all of the data from the drive and redistribute it to the array (assuming there is adequate room), and then update the parity drive accordingly without having to do a full rebuild (zeroing out the decommissioned drive in the process, for safe disposal). Ideally, when it's all finished you could power down the array, remove the designated drive, and continue on your merry day. Thanks
  12. Happy to help. A VPN'd version would be fantastic. Does Binhex take requests?
  13. Thanks. File Activity was exactly what I was looking for.
  14. So this is a really stupid question, but I saw a docker container that shows which applications are accessing drives, letting you know why certain drives are spinning up. However, like an idiot, I didn't install it or pin it, and now I can't find it again. Does this ring a bell to anyone?
  15. In case anyone finds this topic looking for the same info I was looking for, I've finally gotten SparklyBalls' Acestream template working. After installing it, I simply ignored the playlist file and instead accessed it via URL, using the path: http://(UNRAID_IP_ADDRESS):8000/pid/(ACESTREAM_STREAM_ID)/stream.mp4 Of course, replacing (UNRAID_IP_ADDRESS) with my actual unraid box ip address, and replacing (ACESTREAM_STREAM_ID) with the AceStream ID number that I wanted to view. I threw that address into VLC using the "Open Network..." menu option and it worked! Still unsure how to fiddle with setting (such as buffer length), but I'm happy that it's working.
  16. I've been trying to get AceStream working on my Unraid box for a while now. I know there is a SparklyBalls container, but it was based off a 3 year old version of the software designed to work with one Russian hosting site which required a paid subscription. I tinkered with it quite a bit, but could never get it to work for my own AceStream IDs that weren't hosted by the Russian site (which could very well be my fault). I was recently checking if there had been any updates and I'd found this more recent AceStream docker as well as this post from November for a different AceStream docker that someone was using on a Raspberry Pi. I don't have a lot of experience installing Dockers other than using the templates and I was wondering if anyone had gotten any form of AceStream to work well for them? Thanks
  17. Thank you for the quick response Snoopy. I may be asking too much of this plugin, but I'm getting odd behavior. I created my own .m3u file that looks like this: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,F1_Stream1 acestream://7b2b871aec17aa424c48f06077d64d0d17b00a6c #EXTINF:-1,F1_Stream2 acestream://74c822e1fe10b7eb70f057c54f405d924a50d8f5 I then host that file at my own domain. Then in the AceStream docker I leave everything default in the install, except that for TTV_URL variable I put: http://mydomain.com/torrent-tv.m3u I then start the AceStream docker and click on the pulldown for its "WebUI" to get the playlist file that it's supposed to generate... but when I look in the file it generates (http://IP.ADDRESS:8000/torrenttv/torrenttv.m3u), the contents of the file is just: #EXTM3U url-tvg="http://www.teleguide.info/download/new3/jtv.zip" Am I just asking the impossible by trying to pass this plugin my own, custom AceStream links? Is it designed to only work with the Russian pay site?
  18. I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have a sample of the M3U files needed by the AceStream docker? I'd like to try to create a playlist of my own Acestream IDs instead of the ones from this Russian site. Thanks
  19. No, I didn't see that option because I missed the switch to turn advanced options on. Thank you. Where do I get the URL I'm supposed to use? Is it a paid thing? I've been using the p2pstreams plugin for Kodi, which indexes Torrent-TV.ru without having to sign up or pay. Again, thanks for the help.
  20. I realize this thread is a bit old, but I was wondering if there was anyone that could help. When I go to the URL for the WebUI I just get a 500 Internal Server Error. I've tried it setup just as default with only the 8000 port mapped, I've added the 62062 port so it's also mapped, and I've tried it with /mnt/cache/->/mnt/cache/ I've attached my log (which includes one manual shutdown and restart of the container). Thanks for any help. acestreamlog.txt
  21. Thanks for the link Squid, but no, I didn't try that. I think I've found the culprit. There's a bad drive that I'm currently trying to trouble shoot. It wasn't throwing errors in the main array view, but I discovered that Mover was throwing a "read-only" error while trying to write to it for the last week. There were file system problems and it requested a rebuild-tree (which I did) but once I rebuilt the tree, I checked the filesystem again and it still requested that I rebuild the tree. So now I'm moving everything off of that drive (thankfully I currently have enough space) and I'm going to replace it with a new drive. Now, if anyone would care to help me on this issue: Should I replace the drive and simply have it rebuild, or will that preserve the messed up filesystem? Should I remove the drive from the array, rebuilt the parity, then add the new drive as new? Edit: Upon re-reading the link, Squid, it sounds similar to what is going on with me, but while I think that may have been my problem while trying to restore the files to the download share, I don't think that's related to them disappearing in the first place. The original move when I noticed the problem came from when I moved a file from the internal harddrive on my mac into the "Downloads" share. What I mean by "fully loading the folder" was that I opened the folder and it hadn't yet listed the contents of the folder. It was still working on loading the contents and I dragged the file into the blank folder as the little "loading" icon still spun in the bottom corner. There's also a good chance the problem had occurred before now, and I'm only just now noticing as it is a share I don't commonly use. Anyhow, there wasn't a lot of data in the share, and none of it terribly important, so I'm going to move it out, delete the share, replace the bad drive, cross my fingers, and start over. I was just hoping maybe it was a small, common mistake that would be easily fixed. Looks like I'm not so lucky. Thanks for the help.
  22. Hey guys, first off thanks for the awesome community. I'm running 6.0b9 and today I have 6 shares set up (Movies, TV, Downloads, etc...) and I went to move something onto the "Downloads" share before allowing it to fully load the folder (on OSX Yosemite through SMB) and after it "finished" I looked into the share and there was NOTHING there. Not just missing the file I tried to transfer, but it was actually missing all the files that were there before. I tried rebooting everything and the problem still persists. Then I went into the individual drives and found that the "Downloads" folder was still in each of them, so I tried to drag and drop that folder back into the empty "Downloads" share, but when I try that it says that the folder already exists and asks if I'd like to overwrite it. I said no for the time being. I then went into the unRAID web interface and looked at the downloads share through the web file browser - the "Downloads" share has an orange circle next to it and when I try to browse the files, it's completely empty through that interface as well. I'm not really sure what happened, and all the other shares seem to be fine, but any help would be appreciated. Should I just drag everything back over? Should I duplicate it to another drive first then restore it? Is there a trick for restoring the pointers? Thanks!
  23. I have 12 drives (10 data, 1 parity, 1 cache) and only use my Unraid as media storage connected to a Mac Mini. The Mac Mini handles all the video playing and downloading apps, so I don't run any plugins on my Unraid aside from a few SimpleFeatures interface upgrades. My Mobo died and I'm wondering if a Core i3 45watt is overkill? Should I be fine with a dual-core Atom? Thanks.
  24. So I was away for a weekend and I returned to find my unnraid powered off. I tried to turn it back on and I don't get any signal through the VGA or Ethernet. Also, I can't even hold down the power button to turn it off. I have to unplug it. So I'm figuring the mobo died. I was running an Asus P5B-VM DO, but I can't find a new replacement anymore. They're all used or refurb. I'd prefer to replace with something new for reliability sake. Does anyone have a solid recommendation on a board I can buy new that will still have the same number of sata ports and be able to run without a separate video card? Preferably one where I could keep my CPU, but I could buy a new one if needed. Thanks.
  25. I have a question about using both Mac and PC XBMC systems with this setup - if my library was setup on a Mac with all of my Unraid drives mounted (so their paths are something like /Volumes/MoviesHD/), will my library still work (after exporting it then reimporting it into mySQL) on a Windows or openelc XBMC box? Thanks in advance.
