  4. Hi All, Every couple weeks I get into a scenario where my VM fails to boot and I need to wipe it and set it up again. I've attached logs and I looks like I have some issues with my cache drive but I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone take a look and let me know if I need to replace 1 or both of my cache drives? mediaserver-diagnostics-20170406-1525.zip

  6. Hi All, After upgrading to 6.3.3 I haven't been able to run any Docker apps, docker tab says 'Stopped'. I'm also have issues getting my VM to launch into Windows (it gets stuck in a repair/fail loop) Looking through my syslog it appears I have several errors related to one of my cache drives but would like someone to confirm. Thanks. mediaserver-diagnostics-20170405-1434.zip
  7. I'm hitting this too, did you ever get it figured out?
  8. I thought that at first but my bookmark is saved for port 8090. Here's the error I'm now getting when trying to restart the web server: root@Tower:~# killall emhttp emhttp: no process found root@Tower:~# /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & [1] 15533 So it looks like something is killing the web process?
  9. Hi All, Within the last few weeks I've gotten into a state several times where I can't load the web gui and trying to run 'killall emhttp' results in an error 'no process found' I can power down the server via telnet and reboot but I still need to restart the web server to load the webgui, I'm using the following: killall emhttp /usr/local/sbin/emhttp & I've attached some logs, if anyone has suggestions on how to fix this I'm all ears. TIA tower-diagnostics-20160105-0614.zip syslog.txt
  10. Thanks bubbaQ, I thought about getting a 4x1Gbs NIC as well and may do that instead. would probably be cheaper in the end.
  11. Hi All, Long time lurker, non frequent poster. I have an unraid setup that I'm pretty happy with in regards to read/write performance from a single client. My question is this though, would putting in a 10Gb/s NIC help with read/write performance from multiple clients? I am moving into a new house and have the opportunity to run cat5e/6 around the house and am thinking of getting a new switch with a 10Gb/s port that I would connect my unraid box to. I could see a couple computers backing up files to the unraid box and streaming movies to a couple clients all at the same time. thoughts?
  12. Thanks for the suggestion dgaschk, I was 5 versions behind on my Gigabyte MB. My SASLP-MV8 is current with v 3.1.0.21 but I see v4.0.0.21 is available for the newer SAS2LP-MV8 cards, would that work in my older card? I'm guessing not.
  13. Hi All, For the past month or so I've had an issue where after running my server for 5-7 days it will stop being able to connect to over telnet and any user shares I had mounted will be unmounted. I can't ping it and trying to load the webpage to control the server results in an error that the page can't be loaded. I've run Memtest for 48hrs with no issues and I've reinstalled v5.0.5 on a new USB flash drive to rule that out. I don't run with any add-ons or plugins. Attached log and here is a screenshot from the server https://www.dropbox.com/s/zko4e6x217w2w1k/IMG_0086.JPG?dl=0 Thanks for any help! syslog.txt
  14. Hi All, I'm having an issue where my parity check is only going at 2.68MB/s and I do have it set to correct errors. I've attached a syslog below. Normally I see it going for 20-30MB/s. My parity drive is a 2TB WD Green drive and I'm running a Core i5 Haswell with 8GB of ram running v5.0.5 Thanks for the help in advance. syslog.txt
  15. Sorry I wasn't more clear. I did some more troubleshooting and here's what I've discovered: I disconnected all my drives I was able to boot to the tower login prompt, before I would get an error message that 'no boot device was discovered and to connect a device and press any key', a BIOS error message. I shut down the server and then reconnected my drives and now get the tower login prompt (woot!). I have 8 drives connected via internal SATA connections to the motherboard and a SUPERMICRO AOC-SASLP-MV8 card. The mother board is a Gigabyte Z87-D3HP. I am able to see the server via the web interface. I'm going to run a parity check to make sure everything is ok.
  16. Hi All, Randomly today my flash drive is refusing to boot. I have a few plugins installed along with the dynamix 2.2.1 webgui. If I wipe the drive and reinstall Unraid 5.0.5 it boots up just fine but if I put my config folder back on the drive it refuses to boot. Here is the log file: http://www.dropbox.com/s/exhm93f8wulfns2/syslog-20140306-035428.txt
  17. bummer, i got 3 Supermicro 5x3 drive boxes I have to check now. Thanks for the info dgaschk!

  19. I bought it off NewEgg and wasn't paying attention, stupid tax I guess. The Jetway board doesn't support ECC.
  20. I finally completed my 20 drive beast. I had 1 5-3 cage already and finally added the other three along with a motherboard and CPU upgrade. Word of caution for those looking at getting the Antec 1200 case, the metal tabs are a PAIN to get flush. It took me about 3-4 hours total. Now on to the good stuff. 22. Just looking for feedback on my 2nd rig. My main purpose is for media streaming using Air Video server and backup. I don't mind spending extra $$$ to get the right gear, but I don't want to take out a 2nd mortgage either ;-) My main goal is to eventually have 20 drives for around 40TB of storage. I currently have the Antec case for another rig so I won't have to buy that. Everything else will be new. 23. Raj, I noticed in your earlier builds you were using the SuperMicro cages, now you are quoting Nocro cages. What makes the Nocro cages better? Thanks.
