  1. Thank you so much for this, I was looking for an app that did not sell my info on my car and this is perfect. Looking forward to see where you take this. One Suggestion might be to default the keyboard to be number keypad when clicking in the field for fuel or any number entry field. Would make it easier when in the car to record the data. Thank you so much for this!!!
  2. Thanks @trurl ok i stopped Docker and changed macvlan to IPvlan and ran a file system check. Not sure what is going on here but perhaps you can lend some insight Thank you for the help. Rush on !!! Drezin
  3. Hello, I have a peculiar issue going on. My new unraid server seems to go unreachable after a few days. Everything is running but the UI does not pull up nor do any docker services. The only way to get it working again is to do a hard reboot. I did search the forums and find another post similar to this problem and did some of the things that suggested but they have not seemed to help. The two items I have tried are: 1) going into the BIOS and turning off C-States. It is now disabled and the problem persists. 2) I did try to look for a power management in the bios and set it to typical but I did not see anywhere to change that. Here is the type of setup I have: Unraid OS V. 6.12.4 Intel Core I7 CPU MACHINST Motherboard 16GB of RAM 4 Drives (2 SSD) and 1 HDD 6TB and 1 Parity 6TB Here is the Diagnostic and the Syslog server log: krynn-diagnostics-20231219-1140.zip syslog-192.168.1.56.log Please if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much, Drezin
  4. Thanks for the reply @JorgeB, i do not think there is corruption by what you saw, I am going to remove the drive and put it in my main computer and see what it sees. I think that will tell me if the controller or the cable went bad on my server. Currently I am copying over the data that is there to a second external drive just to preserve what is there. I hope it is just a bad cable or not fully connected cable. Thanks, Drezin
  5. Good Morning All, This is the second time this has happened to me which leaves me to suspect a bad file system on my disk. My Unraid system has one 6TB Disk and one 6TB Parity Disk. The system runs on a UPS and one day during a thunder and lighting storm I lost about half my data, mostly movies books text documents etc. Even though I did not loose power I chalked it up to the storm and some kind of power surge. Just this past week (Saturday Night) it happened again. Suddenly data loss again half the data is there half of it gone. Not the same things but different. This is why i think it is a bad file system. I put the server in Maintenance mode and checked the disk. I did see in it that it "needs repair". So I let it run fully and ran it again but did not get the message "needs repair" again. So I assumed the system fixed the problem. The data is still missing and did not return. I am starting to think it is a hard drive crash fail and i was preparing to buy a new hard disk to replace it and attempt to data recover the old data from the old one. It still boots and runs like everything is fine but half the data is missing. The first time it happen I posted here asking for help and uploaded the log and you responded with not seeing any issues in it (Thank You again) . I cannot even upload the log as the "Syslog Server" went missing. (Yes I know I am a bone head for storing it on the disk lesson learned) I am adding the S.M.A.R.T report to this post to see if you can find anything to help. Anyways here are my questions: 1) If I add a new hard drive to unsaid I know i have to clear it and format it but then i would also need to clear and format the parity disk? I do not want the parity disk to rebuild a bad file system on the new disk. 2) Is it possible to recover the data with a file system issue if it is one or does anyone else know of a better solution. I plan on connecting the drive to my main computer through a hard drive enclosure and USB to try to copy (Rsync) the data off and onto a back up 6TB drive that i have. 3) Lastly does anyone have any ideas one what will happen to nextcloud with just a new hard drive etc.... or do I need to capture that whole share too? (Might need to post this in the nc forum) Anyways if you got all the way down to here thank you and here is the SMART Report. krynn-diagnostics-20231004-1045.zip Any help is appreciated. Drezin
  6. Thank you again, I really like the idea of that mother board and rebuilding this thing. I think i will go with the new MOBO and a new case with proper cooling and call it a day. Having a personal server has really been awesome for my family, they basically rely on it now, and it has become an essential friend. They cannot see life without one at this point. By the way I think I figured out the problem with the parity check. I booted it up into safe mode and it ran through a full check no problems. This leads me to the believing the parity check plugin was the culprit. I will be uninstalling that soon. Anyways thank you again for the help.
  7. Thanks @Vr2Io I was hoping to not be so nuclear, but you might be right. I wonder if anyone else has any other input. I would ask how does an existing installation of unraid handle being thrown into new hardware? Would it boot up with the new hardware? Give me an error? What prep would I need to do? Does anyone have a guide of having gone through this before? Thanks again for the help. Drezin
  8. Thanks for the reply, yes after the initial parity check shut down the server, i disabled all scheduled parity checks and only ran parity via console (parity.check nocorrect) I am sorry i should have made that known. Now no parity checks run unless i command it to.
  9. Ok First off thank you for reading this (it is going to be a little long), I am looking on how best to proceed with this server. Here is a summary of everything that has been going on. A few weeks ago the server was running rock solid no problem. I had a scheduled parity check to run over night. When I woke up the server had shut down. I booted it back up and realized the settings for parity check temps were 35 (pause) and 40 (Shutdown) on the hard drives. So I figured it was the settings and rebooted it and reset the settings. From then on I have had numerous little problems here and there. Here is a summary: 1) Unable to run a parity check since then at all it gets to 80% and pauses. If i restart it it shuts down the server. 2) unexpectedly I will get high cpu usage that will not stop or slow down prompting me to reboot the server to calm it down. Normal operation under 15 - 20% of cpu. 3) Whenever i update a docker container it will update fine but the docker will stop and when i start it it gives me an execution error. I have to totally shut down the server and boot it back up to get that container working again. 4) I notice in the morning when I log into it, it would instantly take me in to the UI (accessing it on my home network never really had any lag or congestion) . Now it will sit on the login screen for about 30s then let me go in. 5) I am just concerned with all he reboots I have to do with it, as before i nearly ran it for a year with no issues. Some info on the system: I am running unraid on an old computer bought in 2010, it has a Asus Mother board and an Intel i7 processor, Nvidia Video Card, and just upgraded it to 16GB (from 12) of ram. 350W CPU. It is running with 1 6TB Drive , and 1 6TB Parity Drive with a 250G SSD as cache. Temps on the system in the summer have been 40-43C on the hard drives, and 35C on the cpu under idle. 50C under load. (looks normal or a little high) I cannot tell if this is a hardware or a software problem so I do not know how to proceed. Here are my proposed solutions. 1) Retrofit the system into a better case with more airflow over the hard drives and a new cpu cooler (new thermal paste), Hard drive fans, case fans, and new 600W PSU. 2) Restore Unraid form a backup I have and move forward with that, and see if that fixes the issues. (if I do this I need to look up the procedure and how it will affect Dockers and other information etc.) 3) Scrap the whole thing and buy new hardware with a server in mind and build a new. (if I do this then I need to worry about how to load the drives already full of information into a new Unraid install) I am posting the Diagnostics, and the Server Log, but i am assuming you wont see anything interesting in that, I have looked and others on this forum did not see anything. Any advice would greatly help: syslogserver.zipkrynn-diagnostics.zip Thank you for your help. Drezin
  10. Ps Here are some screen shots of what is happening:
  11. Ok, So the mover logging was disabled and started a parity check last n ight. All was good until this morning when it paused itself. I tried a "parity.check resume" in the console and it started but I was and am still getting very high CPU Temp, and High CPU usage. Checked all dockers and all are using less then 1% CPU. At this point not sure what to do. Here are the logs: syslog-Krynn.zip
  12. Ok so it looks like there is a different problem. I got the server up and running and tried to start a correcting parity check but then some notifications flash on the screen and the array shuts itself down and i have to boot it up again. Lucky this time I set up a sylog remote server to get the files. They are attached here. I hope anyone of you can help syslog.zip Thank you Very much Drezin
  13. Thanks will post it when it happens again! D
  14. Thanks @JorgeB, Ahh no I am sorry I mean from waking up from my sleep as in overnight. Before I went to bed everything was running fine. One of the logs is from 4am where I think something happened. So it probably happened then. Hope that helps. Drezin
  15. Hello All, First time poster long time reader. I have run my unraid server for a year now with no problems. I have it running on an old I7 Asus computer and everything was running fine until a couple of days ago. I have been waking up every morning with this issue. Server is running but cannot get to anything online. No Unraid GUI no services nothing. I hooked up a monitor and it had said Panic Fatal Exception error. I am not sure what to do I have attached a copy of the syslog files. If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Thank you all again and love what you do here. Any help you can give me is very much appreciated Thanks, Drezin krynn-diagnostics-20230618-0826.zip krynn-diagnostics-20230615-2314.zip
